Some studies have shown that native Chinese speakers have different laterality in matched Stroop tasks from native English ***,many imaging data,which show left laterality of English-matched Stroop interference,have been *** a few functional imaging studies have been conducted to investigate the phenomenon of the Chinese version of Stroop *** this study,functional activity in the lateral prefrontal cortex of a group of normal Chinese boys with functional near-infrared imaging during a Stroop color-word task was measured to show different Stroop interferences in the prefrontal *** results show obvious fluctuation of the cerebral blood volume in the right prefrontal cortex in all boys,which agrees with the finding of previous studies,that is,Chinese native boys have right laterality in their brain when the Chinese version of Stroop color-word task is applied.

In Order to reduce the noise in the images and the physical storage, the wavelet-based image compression technique was applied to PIV processing in this paper. To study the effect of the wavelet bases, the standard PIV images were compressed by some known wavelet families, Daubechies, Coifman and Baylkin families with various compression ratios. It was found that a higher order wavelet base provided good compression performance for compressing PIV images. The error analysis of velocity field obtained indicated that the high compression ratio, even up to 64.1, can be realized without losing significant flow information in PIV processing. The wavelet compression technique of PIV was applied to the experimental images of jet flow and showed excellent performance. A reduced number of erroneous vectors can be realized by varying compression ratio. It can say that the wavelet image compression technique is very effective in PIV system.

In this paper,it is shown that the regular representation and regular covariant representation of the crossed products A×α G correspond to the twisted multiplicative unitary operators,where A is a Woronowicz C~*-algebra acted upon by a discrete group ***,it is also shown that the regular covariant C~*-algebra is the Woronowicz C~*-algebra which corresponds to a multiplicative ***,an explicit description of the multiplicative unitary operator for C(SU_q(2) )×α (?) is given in terms of those of the Woronowicz C~*-algebra C(SU_q(2) ) and the discrete group G.

New rodent fossils found in the Oligo-Miocene sedboents in Kyushu, West japan, are identified to the following four taxa: 1) Castoridae gen. et sp. indet. A, 2) Steneofiber sp. from the Late Oligocene Sasebo Group; 3) Castoridae gen. et sp. indet. B; 4) Diatomys shantungensis from the Early to Middle Miocene Nojdria Group. Studies of two specimens identified to the family Chstoridae gen. et sp. indet. A and B indicate that they are large beavcrs with the skull of nearly same sise as Trogontherium that holds enamel of longitudinally grooved indsors. Resemblance in sise and features of the incisor enamel indicates that these specimens could be of the same genus. Furthermore, it is known that Steneofiber is a cosmopolitan genus, however, it has not been found in the Late Oligocene in East Asia. The occurrence of Diatomys shantungensis, on the other hand, strongly suggests that the late Early Miocene mammls from japan and the East *** to the same faunal province in Easl Asian margin.

A new scheme with extended model space is proposed to improve the calculation of multi-reference second order perturbation theory (MRPT2). The new scheme preserves the concise code structure of the original program, and avoids intruder states in constructions of the potential energy surface, which is confirmed by a series of comparable calculations. The new MRPT2 program is an available tool for the research of molecular excited states and electronic spectrum.

Previous studies of young people have revealed that the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex(DLPFC) plays an important role in inductive *** fMRI experiment was performed in this study to examine whether the left DLPFC was involved in inductive reasoning of MCI patients and normal agings,and whether the activation pattern of this region was different between MCI patients and normal *** fMRI results indicated that MCI patients had no difference from normal agings in behavior performance(reaction time and accuracy) and the activation pattern of ***,the BOLD response of the DLPFC region for MCI patients was weaker than that for normal agings,and the functional connectivity between the bilateral DLPFC regions for MCI patients was significantly higher than for normal *** together,these results indicated that DLPFC plays an important role in inductive reasoning of agings,and the functional abnormity of DLPFC may be an earlier marker of MCI before structural alterations.

By means of the comparisons with the formulas in statistical mechanics and thermodynamics, in this paper it is demonstrated that for the single conservation law partial derivative(t)u + partial derivative(x)f(u) = 0, if the flux function f(u) is convex (or concave), then, the physical entropy is S = -f(u); Furthermore, if we assume this result can be generalized to any f(u) with two order continuous derivative, from the thermodynamical principle that the local entropy production must be non-negative, one entropy inequality is derived, by which the O.A. Olejnik's famous E- condition can be explained successfully in physics.
