Formalized therapeutic guideline for hyperlipidemic severe acute pancreatitis

AIM: To investigate a formalized therapeutic guideline for hyperlipidemic severe acute pancreatitis (HL-SAP).METHODS: Thirty-two consecutive patients with severe acute pancreatitis were included in the clinical trial. All of them met the following five criteria for admission to the study, namely the Atlanta classification and stratification system for the clinical diagnosis of SAP, APACHEII score more than 8, time interval for therapeutic intervention less than 72 hours after onset of the disease, serum triglyceride (TG) level 6.8 mmol/l or over, and exdusion of other *** were divided into severe acute pancreatitis group (SAP,22 patients) and fulminant severe acute pancreatitis group (FSAP, 10 patients). Besides the conventional therapeutic measures, Penta-association therapywas also applied in the two groups, which consisted of blood purification (adsorption of triglyceride and hemofiltration), antihyperlipidemic agents (fluvastatin or lipanthyl), low molecular weight heparin (fragmin), insulin, topical application of Pixiao (a traditional Chinese medicine) over the whole abdomen, serum triglyceride,pro-inflammatory cytokines and anti-inflammatory cytokines were determined before blood purification (PF), at the end of blood purification (AFE) and on the 7th day after onset of the disease (AF7) respectively. Simultaneously, severity of the diseases was assessed by the APACHE Ⅱ *** was evaluated by non-operation cure rate,absorption rate of pseudocyst, time interval pseudocyst absorption, hospital stay and survival ***: Serum triglyceride level (mmol/L), TNFα (U/mi) concentration and APACHE Ⅱ score were significantly decreased (P＜0.05) at AFE and AF7, as compared with ***, serum IL-10 concentration (pg/ml) was increased significantly (P＜0.001) at AFE, and decreased significantly (P＜0.05) at AF7 when compared with PF. Objective Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world, accounting for nearly 10%of all incident cases of *** growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) is a pleiotropic cytokine that has been implicated in the pathogenesis of colorectal *** most studied -509C>T polymorphism of TGF-β1 gene has been associated with various kinds of *** aim was to investigate the association between this genetic variant and the risk and/or progression of colorectal cancer. Method We conducted a case-control study of 150 colorectal cancer cases and 503 healthy *** was extracted from blood specimens,and -509C>T polymorphism in the TGF-β1 gene promoter was genotyped by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP).In addition,colorectal cancer tissues(n=70) were obtained from the studied cases for measurement of TGF-β1 mRNA expression *** also assessed the plasma TGF-β1 levels of cases(n=88) and healthy subjects (n=120).Results In our study group,the high TGF-β1 producer genotypes,-509TT,was not associated with an increased risk of colorectal cancer compared with other genotypes, nor with the progression of colorectal ***,we observed that colorectal cancer patients especially those with a more aggressive disease behavior were more frequent with C *** Our results suggest that TGF-β1 -509C>T polymorphism was not associated with both an increased risk and progression of colorectal cancer.

OBJECTIVE: To develope a new enzyme immune assay (ELISA) for detection of M2 antibody specific for primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) by using a triple hybrid clone as antigen, which coexpresses the three immunodominant lipoyl domains of PDC-E2, BCOADC-E2 and OGDC-E2 from human sources. METHODS: After expressing autoantigens of PBC in prokaryote by constructing recombinant expressive plasmid successfully, the fusion protein was purified by affinity chromatography. The sera of 17 PBC patients were examined. As controls, the sera of 167 non-PBC patients and the sera of 1225 normal controls aged under 28 were examined. RESULTS: None of the sera from the non-PBC patients or the normal controls was positive for anti-M2 shown by the new ELISA. However, the positivity rate for anti-M2 in the PBC patients was 100% (17/17), as shown by the new ELISA. CONCLUSION: The detection system with a good sensitivity and specificity may be used as a powerful method for the diagnosis of PBC.

Comparative Study of Chuanxiong and Dextran 40 in the Treatment of Acute Cerebral Infuriction

This paper reports the results of a double-blind trial in 220 patients with acute cerebral in-farction evidenced by computerized tomography, who were randomly divided into a Chuanxiong group(134 cases) and a low molecular weight dextran group (86 cases) . A weighted scoring system was adopt-ed to evaluate the neurological function and living capability. The results showed that the total therapeuticefficacy rate in the Chuanxiong group and in the dextran 40 group were 86. 6% and 62. 8% *** effects of Chuanxiong on the treatment of acute cerebral infarction was superior to the low molecularweight dextran, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P

本研究应用相应的荧光标记的抗体 ,从单细胞水平检测了正常无家族过敏史的 17例新生儿、 18例儿童及 10例成人外周血CD4+ 、CD8+ 细胞分泌IFN γ、IL 4的变化 ,结果显示产生IFN γ的CD4+ (Th1)和CD8+ (Tc1)细胞、产生IL 4的CD4+ (Th2 )细胞及同时产生IFN γ/IL 4的CD4+ (Th0 )细胞 ,随着年龄的增长而明显增高 (P <0 0 5 ) ,Th1/Th2比值也明显升高 (P <0 0 5 )。表明从新生儿期至成人Th1、Tc1、Th2、Th0有一个正常生理性增加过程 ,其中Th1、Tc1变化更为显著 ,可能与抗原暴露接触有关。
