The complete cDNA and deduced amino acid sequences of the ribosomal proteins S23(AmphiS23)and L35(AmphiL35)from amphioxus Branchiostoma belcheri tsingtauense were identified inthis ***23 cDNA is 546 bp long and encodes a protein of 1.3 amino *** has a predictedmolecular mass of 1.,851.Da and a pI of ***35 cDNA comprises 473 bp,and codes for a proteinof 1.3 amino acids with a predicted molecular mass of 1.,543 Da and a pI of ***23 shares morethan 83% identity with its homologues in the vertebrates and more than 84% identity with those in ***35 is more than 63% identical to its counterparts in the vertebrates and more than52% identical to those in the *** blot analysis demonstrated the existence of 1.2 copiesof the S23 gene and 2-3 copies of the L35 gene in the genome of amphioxus *** *** in sharp contrast to the presence of 6-1. copies of the S23 gene and 1.-1. copies of the L35 gene in therat *** is clear that the housekeeping genes like S23 and L35 underwent a large-scale duplication inthe vertebrate lineage,reinforcing the gene/genome duplication hypothesis.

The dynamical properties of Rydberg hydrogen atom near a metal surface are presented by using the methods of phase space analysis and closed orbit theory. Transforming the coordinates of the Hamiltonian, we find that the phase space of the system is divided into vibrational and rotational region. Both the Poincaré surface of section and the closed orbit theory verify the same conclusion clearly. In this paper we choose the atomic principal quantum number as n = 20. The dynamical character of the exited hydrogen atom depends sensitively on the atom-surface distance d. When d is sufficiently large, the atom-surface potential can be expressed by the traditional van der Waals force and the system is integrable. When d becomes smaller, there exists a critical value dc. For d > dc, the system is near-integrable and the motion is regular. While chaotic motion appears for d < dc, and the system tends to be non-integrable. The trajectories become unstable and the electron might be captured onto the metal surface.

By use of optical spectrum technology, the spectra of X-ray induced by highly charged 40Arq+ ions interacting with Au surface have been studied. The results show that the argon Kα X-ray were emitted from the hollow atoms formed below the surface. There is a process of multi-electron exciting in neutralization of the Ar1.+ion, with electronic con-figuration 1.2 in its ground state below the solid surface. The yield of the projectile Kα X-ray is related to its initial electronic configuration, and the yield of the target X-ray is related to the projectile kinetic energy.

The SrTiO3 (001. substrates treated by chemical etching in NH4F-buffered HF solution and annealing in oxygen ambient have been studied by an atomic force microscopy (AFM). The SrTiO3 substrates with TiO2-termineted and atomically smooth surfaces and single unit cell steps have been obtained. The surface morphologies of SrTiO3 substrates strongly depend on the treated conditions and the quality of the substrates.

Results on fracture mechanics and crack propagation have been obtained, making use of Vickers microhardness studies on two different crystallographic planes [(1.0) and (001.] of flux grown erbium aluminate crystals in the load ranging from 1.-1.0 g. The variation of microhardness with load which is best explained by Hays and Kendall's law leads to the load independent values of hardness. Classification of cracks is dealt with and it is reported that the transition from Palmqvist to median types of cracks occurs at higher loads. The values of fracture toughness (K_C), and brittleness index (B_i) are calculated using median types of cracks.

A new element tracer technique has firstly been established to estimate the contri-butions of mineral aerosols from both inside and outside Beijing. The ratio of Mg/Al in aerosol is a feasible element tracer to distinguish between the sources of inside and outside Beijing. Mineral aerosol, inorganic pollution aerosol mainly as sulfate and nitrate, and organic aerosol are the major components of airborne particulates in Beijing, of which mineral aerosol accounted for 32%―67% of total suspended particles （TSP）, 1.%―70% of fine particles （PM2.5）, and as high as 74% and 90% of TSP and PM2.5, respectively, in dust storm. The sources from outside Beijing contributed 62% （38%―86%） of the total mineral aerosols in TSP, 69% （52%―90%） in PM1., and 76% （59%―93%） in PM2.5 in spring, and 69% （52%―83%）, 79% （52%―93%）, and 45% （7%―79%） in TSP, PM1., and PM2.5, respectively, in winter, while only20% in summer and autumn. The sources from outside Beijing contributed as high as 97% during dust storm and were the dominant source of airborne particulates in Beijing. The contributions from outside Bei-jing in spring and winter are higher than those in summer, indicating clearly that it was related to the various meteorological factors.

A digitalized temperature map is recovered from the first light sky survey image published by the Planck team, from which an angular power spectrum of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) is derived. The amplitudes of the low multipoles (low-l) measured from the preliminary Planck power spectrum are significantly lower than those reported by the WMAP team. Possible systematical effects are far from enough to explain the observed low-l differences.
