AIM:To establish a population pharmacokinetic/pharma- codynamic(PK/PD)model for valproate(VPA)in chil- dren with epilepsy in china,and promote reasonable use of antiepileptie drug in clinical practice. METHODS:Sparse data of VPA serum concentrations from 417 pediatric children were *** patients were divided into three groups:Population PK-Index group,n=317;Population PK-Valid group,n=100;115 of the total 417 subjects were also included in the Population PD *** PK parameters of VPA were estimated based on the data from population PK-Index *** the validation procedure,the serum concentra- tions of VPA from the population PK-Valid group were pre- dicted by base and final models *** assess the accuracy and precision of the predictions,mean prediction error(MPE),mean square(t prediction error(MSPE), root mean squared prediction error(RMSPE),weight-resi- dues(WRES)and its 95% confidence intervals(95%CI) were all calculated,then compared between the two mode- *** population PD group,’all of the 115 patients were VPA *** of epilepsy treatment was di- vided into 5 grades according to the percentage of seizure frequency decreased(PSFD%).The value of PSFD% 100%,75%-100%,50%-75%,25%-50%,or less than 25 % are corresponding to grade 1 to *** pop- ulation PD group,the quantitative relationship between the VPA serum concentrations and the probability for its effica- cy score was characterized by logistic regression. Laser-field-induced magnon amplification in a magnetic semiconductor quantum well under an external magnetic field

The laser-field induced magnon amplification in a magnetic semiconductorquantum well under an external magnetic field was discussed, it is shown that when the laserfrequency is near to the electron cyclotron frequency, no matter how weaker the laser field is, themagnon amplification always occurs. In case of fixed laser frequency, the optical absorption ofmagnons obeys the definite selection rule to the laser field strength. The rate of change of magnonoccupation is calculated, and the amplification condition is given.

Abrupt climate change and collapse of ancient civilizations at 2200BC-2000BC

Plentiful evidence of historical, archaeological and palaeoclimatic studies proved that an abrupt change from wetter to drier climate occurred over the Nile Valley,the Mesopotamia, the Indus Valley and Huanghe River Valley at 2200BC-2000BC. The abrupt change was developed based on the general lowering of temperature in the middle latitudes, and was a strong cold event since the beginning of the Megathermal (8.5-3.0 kaBP). Collapse of Nile civilization appeared at the First Intermediate Period (2181BC-2040BC). Civilization of Mesopotamia began collapse following the disintegration of Akkadian Empire. This process lasted to the foundation of Babylon Kingdom from 2200BC to 1900BC. Indus civilization abruptly fell off at 1800BC. A widespread alternation of archaeological cultures happened in china at ca. 2000BC except only in its central part. Longsheng culture was replaced by the Erlitou culture, which is now acknowledged in china as Xia Culture. Foundation of Xia Dynasty at 2070BC opened a new chapter in the development of Chinese civilization. Studies indicated that abrupt climate change may be caused by the weakening of the Thermohaline Circulation (THC).

Aim:Intracellular Ca2+plays pivotal roles in diverse cellular functions,includinggene transcription that underlies cardiac remodeling during stress ***,the role of inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptors（IP3Rs）in the media-tion of cardiac intracellular Ca2+and hypertrophic growth remains *** with neonatal rat ventricular myocytes suggests that activation of IP3Rsmay be linked to α1adrenergic receptor（α1AR）increased stereotyped Ca2+sparkoccurrence and global Ca2+***,we hypothesized that Ca2+releasethrough IP3Rs was necessary for α1AR-stimulated cardiac ***:We used myoinositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate hexakis（butyryloxymethyl）ester（IP3BM）,a membrane-permeant ester of IP3,to activate IP3Rs directly,and Fluo 4/AM tomeasure intracellular Ca2+***:IP3BM(10μmol·L-1)mimicked theeffects of phenylephrine,a selective agonist of α1AR,in increments in local Ca2+spark release（especially in the perinuclear area）and global Ca2+*** importantly,IP3R inhibitors,2-aminoethoxydiphenyl borateand Xestospongin C,abolished the IP3BM-induced Ca2+responses,and signifi-cantly suppressed α1AR-induced cardiomyocyte hypertrophy assayed by cellsize,[3H]leucine incorporation and atrial natriuretic factor gene expression,dur-ing sustained（48 h）phenylephrine ***:These results,therefore,provide cellular mechanisms that link IP3R signaling to α1AR-stimulatedgene expression and cardiomyocyte hypertrophy.

The prediction and control criterion of both the wrinkle limit and fracture limit on the cylindrical cup deep-drawing are given, and the prediction and control diagram of both the wrinkle limit and fracture limit are also given. The results show that it is suitable for no-flange cylindrical cup deep-drawing, narrow-flange cylindrical cup deep-drawing, wide-flange cylindrical cup deep-drawing/expanding compound forming and rigid punch expanding forming.

Adhesion of NiCu Films DC Biased Plasma-Sputter-Deposited on MgO (001)

NiCu films about 60nm thick were deposited on MgO (001) substrates at 230℃ by DC plasma-sputtering at 2.7kV and 8mA in pure Ar gas using a Ni90Cu10 target. A DC bias voltage of 0, 60, 110 or 140V was applied to the substrate during deposition. The adhesion of the film to the substrate was studied using a scratch test as a function of . The application of is very effective in increasing the adhesion of the film to the substrate. In conclusion, the adhesion increases with cleaning the substrate surface by sputtering off impurity admolecules during the film initial formation due to the energetic Ar ion particle bombardment.

Antitumor and anti-angiogenic activity of Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides peptide

AIM: To investigate the antitumor and anti-angiogenic activity of Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides peptide (GLPP). METHODS: Antitumor effect of GLPP was observed in tumor-bearing mice in vivo. At the same time, the effects of GLPP on proliferation of tumor cells and human umbilical cord vascular endothelial cell (HUVEC) were detected by MTTassay in vitro. Subsequently, spleen lymphocytes proliferation of nude mice was stimulated by LPS or ConA. To investigate the anti-angiogenic effect of GLPP, GLPP 80 μg per disc and GLPP-treated serum 10 μL per disc were added to the chick chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) respectively in vivo. RESULTS: GLPP 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg inhibited growth of Sarcoma 180 in BALB/c mice markedly by 35.2 %, 45.2 %, and 61.9 %, respectively. GLPP which was directly added to the cultured medium did not inhibit PG cell proliferation in vitro; but GLPP-treated serum 50, 100, 200 mg/kg potently inhibited PG cell proliferation by 22.5 %, 26.8 %, and 30.3 %, respectively; and reduced the xenograft (human lung carcinoma cell PG) in BALB/c nude mice greatly in vivo by 55.5 %, 46.0 %, and 46.8 %, respectively. Lymphocytes proliferation of nude mice could be stimulated by LPS 5 mg/Lbut not by ConA 2.5 mg/L, indicating that GLPP could not promote the T lymphocyte proliferation and neutral red phagocytosis of peritoneal macrophages of nude mice. The CAM assay showed that GLPP and GLPP-treated serum had anti-angiogenic effect. GLPP (1, 10, and 100 mg/L) inhibited HUVEC proliferation in vitro with the inhibitory rate of 9.4 %, 15.6 %, and 40.4 %, respectively. CONCLUSION: GLPP has antitumor and anti- angiogenic activity. The anti-angiogenesis of GLPP may be a new mechanism underlying its anti-tumor effects.

Electrical Properties of Expanded Graphite Intercalation Compounds

The intercalation compounds of CuCl2 were synthesized with expanded graphite, whose magnitude of the electrical conductivity is about 10(3)S(.)cm(-1). Their electrical conductivity is 3 similar to6 times as high as that of the expanded graphite, and about 10 times as high as that of GIC made of the non-expanded graphite. The microanalysis results of chemical compounds by X-ray energy spectrum scanning of TEM testified that the atomic ratio of chloride and cupric is nonstoichoimetric. The multivalence and exchange of electrovalence of the cupric ion was confirmed by the XPS-ESCA. Vacancy of chlorine anion increases the concentration of charge carrier. The special stage structure, made of graphite and chloride, produces a weak chemical bond belt and provides a carrier space in the direction of GIC layer. These factors develop the electrical properties.

INFLUENCES OF ANISOTROPY ON BAND GAPS OF 2D PHONONIC CRYSTAL

Band gaps of 2D phononic crystal with orthotropic cylindrical fillers embedded in the isotropic host are studied in this paper. Two kinds of periodic structures, namely, the square lattice and the triangle lattice, are considered. For anisotropic phononic crystal, band gaps not only depend on the periodic lattice but also the angle between the symmetry axis of orthotropic material and that of the periodic structure. Rotating these cylindrical fillers makes the angle changing continuously; as a result, pass bands and forbidden bands of the phononic crystal are changed. The plane wave expansion method is used to reduce the band gap problem to an eigenvalue problem. The numerical example is given for YBCO/Epoxy composites. The location and the width of band gaps are estimated for different rotating angles. The influence of anisotropy on band gaps is discussed based on numerical results.
