AIM:To study functional brain abnormalities in patients with hypertensive retinopathy(HR)and to discuss the pathophysiological mechanisms of HR by fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations(fALFFs)***:Twenty HR patients and 20 healthy controls(HCs)were respectively *** age,gender,and educational background characteristics of the two groups were *** functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI)scanning,the subjects’spontaneous brain activity was evaluated with the fALFF *** operating characteristic(ROC)curve analysis was used to classify the ***,we used Pearson’s correlation analysis to explore the relationship between fALFF values in specific brain regions and clinical behaviors in patients with ***:The brain areas of the HR group with lower fALFF values than HCs were the right orbital part of the middle frontal gyrus(RO-MFG)and right lingual *** contrast,the values of fALFFs in the left middle temporal gyrus(MTG),left superior temporal pole(STP),left middle frontal gyrus(MFG),left superior marginal gyrus(SMG),left superior parietal lobule(SPL),and right supplementary motor area(SMA)were higher in the HR *** results of a t-test showed that the average values of fALFFs were statistically significantly different in the HR group and HC group(P32;P<0.0001)and depression scores(r=0.9682;P<0.0001).CONCLUSION:fALFF values in multiple brain regions of HR patients are abnormal,suggesting that these brain regions in HR patients may be dysfunctional,which may help to reveal the pathophysiological mechanisms of HR.

A semantic space for question similarity calculation in user-interactive question answering systems is proposed in this paper,which is constructed based on accumulated questions by two steps:entropy based feature weighting and semantic feature *** similarity is calculated based on the question vectors in the semantic space after mapping questions into the *** results show that our method outperforms the baseline with TREC-9 test questions.

This paper investigates the problem of parameter-dependent robust H∞ model reduction for a class of discrete-time switched linear systems with polytopic parameter *** objective is to design a parameter-dependent homogeneous reduced-order switched system to approximate a given switched polytopic linear system such that the resulting error system is asymptotically stable with a guaranteed H∞ performance γ for any switching *** on a switched parameter-dependent quadratic Lyapunov function （SPDQLF） combined with Finsler’s Lemma,a novel sufficient condition in terms of a set of lin- ear matrix inequalities （LMIs） for robust H∞ performance analysis is first proposed and in turn the reduced-order models are *** is shown that by using a new linearization technique incorporating a bounding technique,the matrices for the reduced-order models can be obtained by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities,which are numerically efficient with com- mercially available ***,a numerical example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness and less conservatism of the proposed approaches.

BACKGROUND Due to mechanical imbalance in the spine,elderly scoliosis patients tend to develop vertebral fracture nonunion,i.e.,Kümmell disease,when osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures ***,accompanying vertebral rotational deformities make surgical procedures challenging *** patients are usually compelled to undergo conservative treatment and there are very few reports on minimally invasive surgeries for *** first-time report a patient with Kümmell disease and lumbar scoliosis treated with percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP)under O-arm *** SUMMARY An 89-year-old female was admitted to the hospital due to delayed low back pain after a *** was diagnosed with Kümmell disease based on physical and radiologic *** patient experienced severe scoliosis and subsequently underwent O-arm-guided kyphoplasty,resulting in a significant alleviation of low back *** PKP has good efficacy in treating Kümmell ***,surgical risks are elevated in scoliosis patients with Kümmell disease due to the abnormal anatomical structure of the spine.O-arm assisted operations play a crucial role in decreasing surgical risks.

A Phonetic Study of Tones in Meixian Hakka

＜正＞The Hakka tones have been extensively studied on historical and phonological perspectives （黄雪贞1988;1989;1992;谢留文2003;谢永昌1994;周日健1998）. Little work has been done on the phonetic analysis of Hakka tone. In this study, the citation tones in Meixian Hakka are examined. The purposes of this study are （1） to investigate the acoustic characteristics of citation tones in Meixian Hakka;and （2） to compare the results of this study with the descriptions of Hakka citation tones in the past studies. The acoustic data （i.e. fundamental frequency） obtained in this study are normalized to factor out the between-speaker variations and make between-speaker comparison possible. The Z-score transform, which is one of the most common strategies in the normalization, was used to calculate the normalized Fo values in this study. Results show that first the Fo contour for the mid level tone can be either level or mid rising while the Fo contour for the low level tone can be either level or low falling. This indicates that variations exist among speakers in the styles of the level tones production in Meixian Hakka. Second, it finds that the end-point of the Fo contour for the so-called high-to-mid falling tone and mid-to-low falling tone can be at the same position on the five-point scale. It is the difference in the position of the starting points of the Fo contour for the two falling tones that distinguish between the two tones. Third, the two short tones are acoustically mid-to-high rising tone and mid-to-low falling tone, respectively. Forth, the results of this study shows that the acoustic data of the Meixian Hakka tones are different from the traditional descriptions of the tones in the past studies. To achieve a better description on the Meixian Hakka citation tones, the acoustic characteristics of the tones has to be taken into consideration.
