SYNCHRONIZATION IN COMPLEX DYNAMICAL NETWORKS

In the past few years, the discovery of small-world and scale-free properties of many natural and artificial complex networks has stimulated increasing interest in further studying the underlying organizing principles of various complex networks. This has led to significant advances in understanding the relationship between the topology and the dynamics of such complex networks. This paper reviews some recent research works on the synchronization phenomenon in various dynamical networks with small-world and scale-free connections.

General Attribute Based RBAC Model for Web Services

Growing numbers of users and many access policies that involve many different resource attributes in service-oriented environments cause various problems in protecting resource. This paper analyzes the relationships of resource attributes to user attributes based on access policies for Web services, and proposes a general attribute based role-based access control（GARBAC） model. The model introduces the notions of single attribute expression, composite attribute expression, and composition permission, defines a set of elements and relations among its elements and makes a set of rules, assigns roles to user by inputing user＇s attributes values. The model is a general access control model, can support more granularity resource information and rich access control policies, also can be used to wider application for services. The paper also describes how to use the GARBAC model in Web services environments.

This paper proposes new definitions to discuss the chaotification problem of nonlinear discrete systems using sliding mode control(SMC).A novel method based on system immersion is introduced to design(chaos)sliding surface. Its basic idea is to immerse an asymptotically stable system (or a chaotic system)which may be a lower dimension into the plant system to obtain the invariant manifold as(chaos) sliding *** illustrative example with simulation results is presented to validate the proposed chaotification approach.

Quadratic and cubic non-linear eddy-viscosity turbulence models(NLEVM) with low Reynolds number(Re) correction were presented to provide better description of anisotropic turbulence stresses in the numerical prediction of supercavitating flows,which are accompanied with large density ratio and large-scaled swirling flow *** applications of the NLEVM were carried out through a self-developed cavitation codes,coupled with a cavitation model based on the transport equation of liquid *** NLEVM were verified capable of capturing more accurate macroscopic shape and hydrodynamic property of supercavity by the benchmark problems of supercavities over simple ***,the cubic NLEVM was further applied to the numerical prediction of supercavitating flow around a complex submerged *** corresponding cavitation behaviors were explored in detail to provide beneficial experience for further research.

Aircraft MDO（Multidisciplinary Design Optimization）needs Grid technology because of complex process and time-consuming ***,aircraft MDO can benefit from Grid computing in terms of massive computational capacity and resource ***, determining how to manage aircraft MDO processes and how to effectively apply grid technology into aircraft MDO remain as problems,which address the demand of an effective domain specific workflow *** previous works focus on universal workflow *** this paper,we propose a Grid-enabled DSWE（Domain Specific Workflow Engine）system for aircraft MDO,which highlights the requirements in aircraft MDO and provides a friendly interface for workflow construction.A practical prototype system of the DSWE has been *** demonstrated the effectiveness of the Grid-enabled DSWE system from performance evaluation and testing results in the case study.

This paper addresses the performance of fixed wavelength converters （FWCs） in resolving optical packet contentions. In order to realize an acceptable packet loss performance, a structure called AFWC （Array of Fixed Wavelength Converters） is proposed. The function of an AFWC is similar to that of a group of tunable wavelength converters, however, it can be shared among all input wavelength channels. The performances of an optical packet switch with AFWCs are evaluated by simulation experiments.

Firmness,a main index of quality changes,is important for the quality evaluation of fruits,in the present study,texture analysis (TA) of magnetic resonance images was applied to predict firmness of Huanghua pears (Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai,***) during storage using an artificial neural network (ANN).Seven co- occurrence matrix-derived TA parameters and one run-length matrix TA parameter significantly correlated with firmness were considered as inputs to the *** ANN models were evaluated when developing the optimal *** optimal ANN model consisted of one hidden layers with seventeen neurons in the hidden *** model was able to predict firmness of pears with a mean absolute error of 0.539 N and R=*** data showed the potential of TA parameters of MR images combined ANN for investigations of internal quality characteristics of fruits during storage.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was used for nondestructive evaluation of bruising of Huanghua pears (Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai,***).The bruises of pears which were respectively stored in room temperature (about 23℃),4℃and controlled atmospheric condition (6% O and 2% CO at 4℃) were detected and distinguished by *** MRI sequences have been *** relaxation rates (T and T) of the bruised regions were found to be significantly different from those of normal tissue which is caused by water distribution of the tissue (P<0.05).In addition,the results achieved in this study still show the potential of MRI as a tool for analyzing the internal quality of pears.

This paper presents a new speech recognition algorithm using template matching. The system uses Feature Space Trajectory Distance (FSTD) and semantic processing as the basis of templates matching. Rule based semantic abstraction in traffic area is the key to distinguish the relation of the words to be recognized in our system, instead of HMM statistical method. SVM classifier is used as categorizing algorithm. Considering the limitation of general recognitions on vocabulary templates that need tens of thousands of word templates, we use syllable template and scalable merging algorithm instead, only need about 1400 syllables. The algorithm has been applied in our scalable syllable interpolation-merging algorithm, and gets a high accuracy up to 99.43% in the simulation experiment with former three results. We also add our lab’s semantic address parser to strengthen the system’s ability of mining address names. The technology has been accepted and it will act an important role in traffic query system in Peking 2008’ Olympics
