This paper reports a microfluidic method of continuous separation of marine algae and particles by DC dielectrophoresis. The locally non-uniform electric field is generated by an insulating PDMS triangle hurdle fabricated within a PDMS microchannel. Both the particles and algae are subject to negative DEP forces at the hurdle where the gradient of local electric-field strength is the strongest. The DEP force acting on the particle or the algae depends on particles' or algae's volume, shape and dielectric properties. Thus the moving particles and algae will be repelled to different streamlines when passing the hurdle. In this way, combined with the electroosmotic flow, continuous separation of algae of two different sizes, and continuous separation of polystyrene particles and algae with similar volume but different shape were achieved. This first demonstration of DC DEP separation of polystyrene particles and algae with similar sizes illustrates the great influence of dielectric properties on particle separation and potentials for sample pretreatment.

An efficient and practical post-processing technique based on reverse reconciliation for continuous variable quantum key distribution is proposed and simulated with low-density parity check (LDPC) codes. MultiLevel Coding/ MultiStage Decoding, which fully utilizes optimization technique such as vector quantization and iterative decoding and the optimal channel coding most close to the Shannon limit, was used to realize efficient reverse reconciliation algorithm. Simulation results showed that the proposed method can improve the secure key distribution rate to 2.2 kb/s and the coding efficiency to 0.89 over 20 km in single-mode optical fiber. Moreover, there still is room for much improvement.

A novel networked data-fusion method is developed for the target tracking in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Specifically, this paper investigates data fusion scheme under the communication constraint between the fusion center and each sensor. Such a message constraint is motivated by the bandwidth limitation of the communication links, fusion center, and by the limited power budget of local sensors. In the proposed scheme, each sensor collects one noise-corrupted sample, performs a quantizing operation, and transmits quantized message to the fusion center. Then the fusion center combines the received quantized messages to produce a final estimate. The novel data-fusion method is based on the quantized measurement innovations and decentralized Kalman filtering (DKF) with feedback. For the proposed algorithm, the performance analysis of the estimation precision is provided. Finally, Monte Carlo simulations show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

The use of sparse representation in signal and image processing has gradually increased over the past few *** an over-complete dictionary from a set of signals allows us to represent these signals as a sparse linear combination of dictionary *** considering the relativity among the multi-polarimetric synthetic aperture radar(SAR)images,a new compression scheme for multi-polarimetric SAR image based sparse representation is *** multilevel dictionary is learned iteratively in the 9/7 wavelet domain using a single channel SAR image,and the other channels are compressed by sparse approximation,also in the 9/7 wavelet domain,followed by entropy coding of the sparse *** experimental results are compared with two state-of-the-art compression methods:SPIHT(set partitioning in hierarchical trees)and *** of the efficiency of the coding scheme,our method outperforms both SPIHT and JPEG2000 in terms of peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR)and edge preservation index(EPI).

A kind of discounted problems for singular diffusion control have been studied. The drift and diffusion coefficients of state process are nonlinear. The class of models has been basically extended from a corresponding one established by Karatzes et al. before. By applying some analysis methods different from earlier works, the sufficient and necessary conditions of the existence of optimal control have been obtained. If an optimal control exists, it is a 'transient reflection' of state process for two lines.

A ccmspiracy attack is proposed to show that Wang-Li's scheme is instcure,because any t or more group members can impersonate other t member to sign any message withoutholding the responsibility. To avoid the conspiracy attack, this paper prestentsa new (t,n)threshold signature scheme with traceablt signers. A (t. n) threshold signature scheme allows t ormore group members of the group lo generate a signature on behalf of the group, Any less than tmembers cannot generate a valid signature, andany set of the group cannot impersonate another set ofmembers to sign any message without holding the responsibility. In case of disputes., the thresholdsignature can be opened, so that the original signers ean be traced without repealing the secretkeys.

The sufficient and necessary conditions for Lyapunov stability of the zero equilibrium point of Lorenz system are discussed, and some brief criteria are presented for globally exponential stability, globally asymptotical stability and instability. Furthermore, the behavior of the non-zero equilibrium point of Lorenz system is also investigated, and several sufficient and necessary conditions are provided for locally exponential stability and instability. The established theorems in this paper develop and extend the existing achievements on Lyapunov stability of Lorenz system. In conclusion, by applying the obtained results, some less conservative feedback-control laws are derived to guarantee the globally exponential stability of the chaos control of Chen system, Lu¨ system, Yang-Chen system and Yu-Xia Li system.

Digital signature scheme is a very important research field in computer security and modern cryptography. A (k, n) threshold digital signature scheme is proposed by integrating digital signature scheme with Shamir secret sharing scheme. It can realize group-oriented digital signature, and its security is based on the difficulty in computing discrete logarithm and quadratic residue on some special conditions. In this scheme, effective digital signature can not be generated by anyk?1.or fewer legal users, or only by signature executive. In addition, this scheme can identify any legal user who presents incorrect partial digital signature to disrupt correct signature, or any illegal user who forges digital signature. A method of extending this scheme to an Abelian group such as elliptical curve group is also discussed. The extended scheme can provide rapider computing speed and stronger security in the case of using shorter key.
