We present a rapid system for predicting beef tenderness by mimicking the human tactile sense. The detection system includes a FS pressure sensor, a power supply conversion circuit, a signal amplifier and a box in which the sample is mounted. A sample of raw Longissimus dorsi (LD) muscle is placed in the measuring box; then a rod connected to the pressure sensor is pressed into the beef sample to a given depth; the reaction force of the beef sample is measured and used to predict the tenderness. Sensory evaluation and Warner-Bratzler Shear Force (WBSF) evaluation of samples from the same LD muscle are used for comparison. The new detection system agrees with established procedure 95% of the time, and the time to test a sample is less than 5 minutes.

We introduce the relationship between excess noise in Optoelectronic Coupled Devices (OCDs) and their interior defects and explain how low-fiequency noise can be used to estimate their *** concepts from the biological immune system and its process of identifying invaders,we present a system for estimation of the reliability of *** system has expressions for the antigen (excess noise),lymphocyte (criterion) and the role of the lymphocyte eliminating unreliable devices. A genetic algorithm was used to estimate the components parameters of the noise spectrum for estimating the reliability of *** experimental results demonstrated that this method is reliable,adaptable and practical.

Different from the traditional way of using piezoelectric （PZT）phase shifter to measure phase difference, a new method is designed to calculate it between signals in the two arms of a homodyne fiber interferometer. A simple homodyne fiber interferometer system is then established to measure the interference photoeurrent and the photocurrents from the two fiber arms generated by the signal power on a temperature control plat. The homodyne fiber interferometer system is composed of fiber and sensitive to the variation of temperature. Thus, is necessary to study the temperature characteristics in the phase measurement of homodyne fiber interferometer. The experimental results show that the variation of the phase difference of signals in the two fiber arms is proportional to the variation of temperature.

By using high-pressure treatment, two mutant lines were obtained from agenetically stable japonica rice cultivar Bijing38. Genomic DNA of the mutant lines, together withthe original line (Bijing38), was either undigested or digested by Hpa ⅡIMspⅠ, and then subjectedto molecular analysis using two markers, ISSR and RAPD. Results indicated that changes in the PCRamplification profiles of both markers are apparent in the two mutant lines compared with theoriginal rice cultivar, suggesting that there had been both sequence changes and DNA methylationmodifications in the mutant lines. Southern blot analysis using diverse sequences, including twocellular genes (S2 and S3), a set of retrotransposons (Osr7, Osr36, Tos19 and more), and a MITEtransposon family (mPing and Pong), confirmed the results, and indicated that changes in DNAmethylation pattern, genomic structure, and possible activation of some transposons indeed occurredin the mutant lines. Moreover, these changes are stably maintained through selfed generations and indifferent organs. Thus, our results indicate that it is possible to obtain stable mutants in riceby high pressure treatments, and the molecular basis of the mutants may include both genetic andepigenetic changes. Therefore, high hydrostatic pressure seems a promising approach for plantmutagenesis.

The archaeological site of Sampula cemetery was located about 14 km to the southwest of the Luo County in Xinjiang Khotan,china,belonging to the ancient Yutian kingdom.14C analysis showed that this cemetery was used from 217 *** 283 A.D. Ancient DNA was analyzed by 364 bp of the mitochondrial DNA hypervariable region I （mtDNA HVR-I）,and by six restriction fragment length polymorphism （RFLP） sites of mtDNA coding *** successfully extracted and sequenced intact stretches of maternally inher- ited mtDNA from 13 out of 16 ancient Sampula *** analysis of mtDNA haplogroup distribution showed that the ancient Sampula was a complex population with both European and Asian *** joining network of U3 sub-haplogroup and multi-dimen- sional scaling analysis all showed that the ancient Sampula had maternal relationship with Ossetian and Iranian.

The objectives of lunar satellite remote sensing are to study lunar surface characteristics, inner structure, and its evolution history. The contents of TiO 2 and FeO are assessed from Clementine UV/VIS data for Sinus Iridum. The geologic stratigraphic units and crates are interpreted visually based on SELENE Terrain Camera (TC) images and the spatial resolution of which is up to 10 m. And the geologic ages of different stratigraphic units are calculated by the crater size-frequency distributions measurements. The gravity anomaly is generated from SELENE gravity model (SGM90d) to show its difference from Mare Imbrium. Furthermore, the thickness of lunar regolith is also derived from microwave radiometer data of Chang’e-1 satellite. Integrating these results, it shows that the Sinus Iridum is different from the Mare Imbrium in inner structure and surface sedimentation. And its history of subsidence, deposition, volcanism, and impact is described. It makes sense to the future soft-landing and sampling at potential Sinus Iridum by remote sensing geologic analysis.

A new 2D (two-dimensional) coordination polymer, [Fe(μ4-bta)o.5(phen)(OH)]n (1), has been hydrothermally synthesized with FeCl3 6H2, Na4bta (h4bta = 1,2,4,5-benzentetracarboxylic acid), 1,10-phen (1,10-phenanthroline) and H2O as raw materials. The crystals of the compound belong to monoclinic P21/n space group, a = 1.0129(2) nm, b = 0.9265(2) nm, c = 1.5696(3) nm, β=91.37(3)°V=1.4721(5) nm3,Z=3, final R1=0.0292, wR 2=0.0798 for 2572 [/>2σ(/)] observed reflections. The result of structure determination shows that in the compound each bta ligand is connected with four Fe3, forming a new μ4-coordination mode. Four deprotonated carboxylic groups of bta link to Fe3 ions alternatively through monodentate and bidentate coordination fashion, constructing 2D layer network. The measurement of variable temperature magnetic susceptibility indicates that there exist antiferromagnetic interactions between Fe3 ions in the compound. The TGA spectrum displays relatively fine thermal stability of the compound. In addition, IR and UV-Vis spectra of compound 1 have also been measured.

The contact melting processes of ice, caused by pressure under the two-dimension axisymmetric horizontal columns, are generally studied. The unified mathematical expressions of the characteristic parameters for the pressure contact melting processes are obtained. Applying these expressions to the analysis of the pressure contact melting of ice around the horizontal cylinder, elliptical cylinder and flat plate, the related results in the published literatures are obtained, which prove the correctness and validity of the expressions. In addition, the expressions for the pressure contact melting of ice around the wedge-shaped object are also derived.
