Relations between thickness of UHMWPE’s wear debris and positive pressure of tribological system

MiaoXAM2.5X-50X Ultrahigh Precision Surface 3D Profiler is introduced to research the relations be- tween thickness of UHMWPE’s wear debris and positive pressure of tribological system. Research re- sults show that thickness of wear debris owns evident classification, and the first grade thickness math model and the second grade thickness math model are built. By the second grade thickness math model, the true force condition in the tribological system can be gotten, and the model can be used as a tool to modify simulating parameters of the tribological system, and it is an important inspecting method to the airtight system which cannot be examined in real time. The first grade thickness math model can describe the true working load and surface condition of work piece in the tribological sys- tem, and is an effective description method for the running condition of frictional pairs. The research results at different lubricating conditions testify the relations between thicknesses of wear debris and positive pressure of the tribological system. The fractal relation between maximal thickness of wear debris and positive pressure is discussed. The conceptions of the immutability principle and charac- teristic granularity of wear debris thickness are brought forward and discussed. In conclusion, as a stable tribological parameter owning mechanical theory basis, wear debris thickness will play an im- portant part in fault diagnosis, especially for the airtight system such as artificial joint.

Friction behavior of coupling motion for natural articular cartilage by reciprocating rotation

Based on the irregular surface of natural cartilage configurations, the tribological characteristics of coupling motion between natural cartilage pairs were investigated by the variation of rotated offset and velocity. Contact displacement, contact load, friction force and coefficient of friction from natural cartilage pairs were measured by a UMT-2 testing machine. In order to obtain the steady part and wavy part, the contact load and contact displacement were decompounded by the five-point sliding average method. These results showed that the contact load was composed of steady load and wavy load. And the contact displacement was composed of cartilage deformation and surface outline. The steady load was similar to exterior load while natural cartilage deformation increased nonlinearly with the sliding time. Wavy load had the correlative coefficient 0.235 with surface outline due to the irregular surface of friction configurations. The coefficient of friction from cartilage friction configurations was less influenced by smaller magnitude in rotated parameters. A few strange summits were obtained in the area of coef-ficient of friction, and significantly related with local minimal values corresponding to the contact loads. The rotated offsets had clear impact on contact load and a slight impact on contact displacement. Larger offset produced higher wavy magnitude of the contact load. The rotated velocities played an evident role in cartilage deformation, but had a less influence on contact load. Lower velocity brought larger cartilage deformation.

Poly(vinyl alcohol)/hydroxylapatite(PVA/HA)composite hydrogel was prepared by repeated freezing and *** water loss properties of the resultant hydrogel were investigated by using optical *** time immersion tests of PVA/HA composite hydrogel were carried out in the diluted calf serum solution to study the change laws of swelling properties with the freezing-thawing cycles and HA *** micro-morphologies of PVA/HA composite hydrogel after long time immersion were observed by means of the high-accuracy 3D *** results show that the swelling process of PVA/HA composite hydrogel is the converse process of its water *** time swelling ratio curves of PVA/HA composite hydrogel in the calf serum solution are manifested as four stages of quick increase,decrease,slow decrease and stable balance,and its equilibrium swelling ratio decreases with the increase of freezing-thawing cycles and HA *** is revealed that the network structure of the composite hydrogel immersed for a long period is significantly improved with the increase of HA content. Perfect network structures of PVA/HA composite hydrogel as well as full and equilibrium tissues after swelling equilibrium are obtained when the HA content is 3% and the number of freezing-thawing cycles is 7.

Styrene-butadiene rubber(SBR)is an indispensable material in modern society,and the necessity for enhanced mechanical properties in SBR persists,particularly to withstand the rigors of challenging environmental *** surmount the limitations of conventional cross-linking modes,mechanical bonds stabilized by host-guest recognition are incorporated as the cross-linking points of SBR to form mechanically interlocked networks(MINs).Compared with covalently cross-linked network,the representative MIN exhibits superior mechanical performance in terms of elongation(1392%)and breaking strength(4.6 MPa),whose toughness has surged by 17 *** of host-guest recognition and subsequent sliding motion provide an effective energy dissipation mechanism,and the release of hidden length is also beneficial to enhance ***,the introduction of the rotaxane cross-links made the network more pliable and possess damping and elastic properties,which can return to initial state with one minute rest *** aspire that this direct introduction method can serve as a blueprint,offering valuable insights for the enhancement of mechanical properties in conventional commercial polymer materials.

8-Aminoquinoline nickel dichloride and bis(cyclopentadienyl)zirconium dichloride (Cp_2ZrCl_2) were supportedsimultaneously on silica to produce branched polyethylene successfully by combined polymerization. The supportedpolymerization results showed that the molecular weight of polyethylene increased while the molecular weight distributionbecame wider and the molecular chains of oligomers remaning in the final solution became shorter as compared to theoligomers obtained in polymerization processes with pure 8-aminoquinoline nickel dichloride catalysis, as well as theCp_2ZrCl_2 and nickel combination system. With decreasing amount of Ni catalyst in the supported catalyst, the molecular chains of oligomers in the resulting solution became shorter, while α-olefin selectivity increased.

Relative importance of water, energy, and heterogeneity in determining regional pteridophyte and seed plant richness in china

Environmental variables, such as ambient energy, water availability, and environmental heterogeneity have been frequently proposed to account for species diversity gradients. How taxon-specific functional traits define large-scale richness gradients is a fundamental issue in understanding spatial patterns of species diversity, but has not been well documented. Using a large dataset on the regional flora from china, we examine the contrast spatial patterns and environmental determinants between pteridophytes and seed plants which differ in dispersal capacity and environmental requirements. Pteridophyte richness shows more pronounced spatial variation and stronger environmental associations than seed plant richness. Water availability generally accounts for more spatial variance in species richness of pteridophytes and seed plants than energy and heterogeneity do, especially for pteridophytes which have high dependence on moist and shady environments. Thus, pteridophyte richness is disproportionally affected by water-related variables; this in turn results in a higher proportion of pteridophytes in regional vascular plant floras (pteridophyte proportion) in wet regions. Most of the variance in seed plant richness, pteridophyte richness, and pteridophyte proportion explained by energy is included in variation that water and heterogeneity account for, indicating the redundancy of energy in the study extent. However, heterogeneity is more important for determining seed plant distributions. Pteridophyte and seed plant richness is strongly correlated, even after the environmental effects have been removed, implying functional linkages between them. Our study highlights the importance of incorporating biological traits of different taxonomic groups into the studies of macroecology and global change biology.

Study on attribute characterization for reservoir dynamic monitoring by seismic

Study on characterizing reservoir parameters dynamic variations by time-lapse seismic attributes is the theoretical basis for effectively distinguishing reservoir parameters variations and conducting time-lapse seismic interpretation,and it is also a key step for time-lapse seismic application in real oil fields. Based on the rock physical model of unconsolidated sandstone,the different effects of oil saturation and effective pressure variations on seismic P-wave and S-wave velocities are calculated and analyzed. Using numerical simulation on decoupled wave equations,the responses of seismic amplitude with different offsets to reservoir oil saturation variations are analyzed,pre-stack time-lapse seismic attributes differences for oil saturation and effective pressure variations of P-P wave and P-S converted wave are calculated,and time-lapse seismic AVO (Amplitude Versus Offset) response rules of P-P wave and P-S converted wave to effective pressure and oil saturation variations are compared. The theoretical modeling study shows that it is feasible to distinguish different reservoir parameters dynamic variations by pre-stack time-lapse seismic information,including pre-stack time-lapse seismic attributes and AVO information,which has great potential in improving time-lapse seismic interpreta-tion precision. It also shows that the time-lapse seismic response mechanism study on objective oil fields is especially important in establishing effective time-lapse seismic data process and interpreta-tion scheme.

Solid phase transition of the a form crystals to the 3 form crystals in syndiotactic polystyrene (sPS) samples has occurred in supercritical CO2. This transformation is different from those detected under other conditions. The effects of some factors (e.g. time, temperature, and pressure) on the solid phase transformation of sPS in supercritical CO2 were analyzed in detail. Experimental results show that longer time, higher temperature or higher pressure favors the transformation of the a form crystals to the beta form crystals.

Description to wear debris boundaries by radar graph fractal method

In this paper,radar graph fractal method is introduced to describe wear debris boundaries. Research results show that it is a nice way to describe wear debris boundaries. Since the longest axis is selected as the first coordinate axis,its center point selected as the center point of the radar graph,and the co-ordinate value of wear debris boundary selected as the measure parameter,the limitations existing in Yard fractal measure method can be avoided. For any wear debris,its radar graph fractal dimension value is one and only,and as the wear debris shape changes from round to strip,the radar graph fractal dimension value also changes from low to high,showing strong uniqueness and independence. Due to the fact that the researched wear debris is gotten in different wear states,the results also prove that radar graph fractal dimension value is correlated with frictional pairs work condition and wear state. Radar graph fractal method is compared with Yard fractal measure methods,and results show that ra-dar graph fractal dimension values gotten from different wear debris have enough value grads to avoid effect of errors,and provide higher sensitivity for wear debris shape. This paper also discusses the influencing factors for radar graph fractal method. With the increase of the decomposing degree value,the radar graph fractal dimension tends to keep stable at one certain value,showing the typical characteristic of the fractal theory. All this proves that radar graph fractal method is an effective description method for wear debris boundaries.

Fourteen vitrinite reflectance profiles from the Tarim Basin,NW china,show that the vitrinite reflectance profiles of individual wells follow a faulted and dislocated dual-stage pattern in the eastern section of the Tazhong Uplift and in the Tabei *** reflectance values in these profiles change sharply at the unconformity beneath the Lower Carboniferous Bachu or Upper Devonian Donghetang Formations,where the overlying Triassic to Carboniferous strata are still in a mature phase within the "liquid oil window".However,the underlying Lower Paleozoic reached the overmature phase beyond the "liquid oil window" towards the end of the Silurian,or in the Early Devonian at the *** the vitrinite reflectance profiles are attributed to a continuous,single-stage pattern in the western section of the Tazhong Uplift,in which the Lower Paleozoic is also in an overmature phase,their overmaturity would have been achieved relatively late in geological *** stratigraphic thermohistory has the following implications to regional geoevolution:(1) The overmature Lower Ordovician to Cambrian strata in the eastern section of the Tazhong Uplift and in the Tabei Uplift,as well as in the Manjiaer Depression,could not have acted as the source kitchen for normal oil(so-called black oil);(2) The dissimilarity in vitrinite reflectance profiles between the eastern and western sections of the Tazhong Uplift reveals Early Paleozoic paleotectonic features,i.e.,lower at the east and higher at the west,whereas recent tectonic features formed since the Late Paleozoic are in reverse,i.e.,higher in the east and lower at the west;(3) Reconstruction of the denuded thickness of sediments overlying the Lower Ordovician strata suggests reconsideration on the paleotectonic features in the Tarim Basin;(4) Based on the sustained duration of the "liquid oil window" for overmature source beds,it is predicted that the Suntuoguole Lower Uplift between the Awati and Manjiaer Depressions is a
