＜正＞ Indian Mockstrawberrg Herb （IMH）. the herb of Duchesnea indica （ Andr. ） Focke and Duchesnea chrysantha （ Zollinger ＆ Moritzi ） Miqiiel, is commonly used to treat cancer in china for centuries. The objective of our study was to demonstrated its anti - cytotoxicity on cancer cells in vitro and elucidate the underlying mechanism. We evaluated the cytotoxic activities of Duchesnea phenolic extract （DPE） using MTT assay, morphological observation. DNA fragmentation by electrophoresis and flow cytometric analysis. The results showed that DPE at 20 - 160ug/ml for 72h dose - dependently suppressed the proliferation of Hela. skov - 3,HEC - 1B and BGC - 823（ p ＜ 0.05）. The induction of chromatin condensation appearance. DNA fragmentation, accumulation of sub - G1 phase and S cell cycle arrest in DPE treated Hela and skov - 3 cells evidenced that the cytotoxicity is through activation of apoptosis. Taken together, our study suggests that DPE could inhibit proliferation of cancer cell lines via blocking cell cycle in S phase, inducing apoptosis.

Microbial products are rich resources for the discovery and manufacture of anticancer drugs. Most of the microbes-derived bioactive substances are secondary metabolites of the microorganism and those exhibiting antitumor activity are designated as anticancer antibiotics. Currently, anticancer antibiotics play an important role in cancer chemotherapy. In the period 1991-2002, there were 4976 microbes originated bioactive substances reported and 1785 belonged to anticancer antibiotics which consist of 36% of the total. The data indicate that the study of anticancer antibiotics has gained great momentum in the last decade. Because of the highly diverseness of naturally occurring microorganisms and their bioactive products, especially the secondary metabolites, microbes-derived biopharmaceuticals are rich resources for the research and development of new drugs including anticancer antibiotics. Advances in the areas of functional genomics and proteomics will provide a variety of relevant and validated molecular targets for drug discovery. Target-specific assays applied to screening will detect target-active compounds. The technical progress in microorganism isolation, identification, and fermentation will make it possible to explore the active products derived from new microorganisms. Combinatorial biosynthesis offers a new strategy to obtain microbes-derived biopharmaceuticals. The combination of monoclonal antibody and anticancer antibiotic opens up a new area for the development of targeted drugs for cancer therapy.

Sulfur fumigation(SF)in traditional chinese medicine(TCM)is a highly efficient and important traditional preservation method in *** method has generated a great deal of concern and has been disputed in the last few years because of its uncertain *** can alter the quality of TCMs by damaging the bioactive compounds,changing chemical profiles,and generating detrimental exogenous ***,SF is still widely used in the herbal medicinal industry because of its various benefits,such as its pesticidal and anti-bacterial effects,easy operation,and *** review contains the current situation,chemical mechanism and reactions during SF,the pharmacological and pharmacokinetic research,and the influence of quality caused by *** addition,a quantification-operation sulfur fumigation device(QOSFD),which can maintain the quality of TCMs by controlling the SF processing parameters,has been designed and *** key technologies of this device involve controlling the O content and the temperature of SO as well as the quantification of sulfur in *** device can reduce the possibility of reaction between bioactive compounds and sulfur/sulfurous acid,as well as control the limitation of SO *** QOSFD is regarded as a promising preservation technique in the field of TCM,medicinal materials,agriculture,and fruit industry.

DNA barcoding is a rapidly developing frontier technology that is gaining worldwide ***,seven regions (psbA-trnH,matK,ycf5,rpoC1,rbcL,ITS2,and ITS) with potential for use as DNA barcodes were tested for their ability to identify 300 samples of 192 species from 72 genera of the family *** evaluate each barcode’s utility for species authentication,PCR amplification efficiency,genetic divergence,and barcoding gaps were *** found that the ITS2 region exhibited the highest inter-specific divergence,and that this was significantly higher than the intra-specific variation in the "DNA barcoding gap" assessment and Wilcoxon two-sample *** ITS2 locus had the highest identification efficiency among all tested *** a previous study,we found that ITS2 was able to discriminate a wide range of plant taxa,and here we confirmed that ITS2 was also able to discriminate a number of closely related ***,we propose that ITS2 is a promising candidate barcode for plant species identification.

Ganoderma lucidum,a wood-rotting fungi,has been used as medicinal mushroom for treating many diseases such as cancer,tumor,hepatitis,chronic bronchitis,gastritis and so *** addition,*** is a kind of white-rot basidiomycetes that could cause ***(EC 1.***.3.2)is a multi-copper blue oxidase that distribute widely in plants and *** research indicate that they have multiple laccase isozymes and some have been purified.A new genome-wide analysis of laccases was performed in *** the present study,a detailed analysis of thirteen laccases was *** them,there are three laccases were previous reported(lacc1,lacc2, lacc3).We investigated the laccases gene expression in different period of growth including the mycelia,primordia,and fruiting bodies in *** by using reverse transcription(RT)-PCR. Lastly,homologous laccase sequences were retrieved from NCBI and JGI web *** sequence alignments and phylogenetic trees were *** comparison was explored to understand the functional diversities in basidiomycetes.
