For simulating multi-scale complex flow fields like turbulent flows, the high order accurate schemes are preferred. In this paper, a scheme construction with numerical flux residual correction (NFRC) is presented. Any order accurate difference approximation can be obtained with the NFRC. To improve the resolution of the shock, the constructed schemes are modified with group velocity control (GVC) and weighted group velocity control (WGVC). The method of scheme construction is simple, and it is used to solve practical problems.

Axial magnetic field produced by an axial magnetized permanent ring was studied. For two permanent rings, if they are magnetized in the same directions, a nearly uniform axial field can be produced. If they are magnetized in opposite direction, an axial gradient magnetic field can be generated, with the field range changing from-Bo to Bo- A permanent magnet with a high axial gradient field was fabricated, the measured results agree with the PANDIRA calculation very well. For wider usage, it is desirable for the field gradient to be changed. Some methods to produce the variable gradient field are presented. These kinds of axial gradient magnetic field can also be used as a beam focusing for linear accelerator if the periodic field can be produced along the beam trajectory. The axial magnetic field is something like a solenoid, large stray field will leak to the outside environment if no method is taken to control them. In this paper, one method is illustrated to shield off the outside leakage field.

Since the concept of zero-knowledge protocols was introduced, it has attracted a lot of attention and in turn showed significant effect on the development of cryptography, complexity theory and other areas. The round complexity of a zero-knowledge protocol is a very important efficiency consideration, and it is required to be as small as possible. Generally, it is desirable to have zero-knowledge protocols with constant numbers of rounds. Goldreich and Oren proved that only languages in BPP have one-round and two-round zero-knowledge protocols. Moreover, they also showed that only languages in BPP have one-round honest-verifier zero-knowledge protocols. The notion of honest-verifier zero-knowledge protocols is highly non-trivial and fascinating itself, and has many other uses. Thus, the problem as to whether there exist two-round honest-verifier zero-knowledge protocols becomes an important open problem. In this paper, we introduce a new simulation technique and present a two-round honest-verifier zero-knowledge protocol for any language in N P under a standard complexity assumption based on this technique.

To explore a potential means for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer disease, we studied the relationship of resting T2* signal and tau hyperphosphorylation/spatial memory deficit. The rat model with tau hyperphosphorylation and spatial memory deficit was established by bilateral hippocampi injection of isoproterenol (IP). Then, the correlative alteration between resting T2* signal and spatial memory retention was assessed with blood oxygenation level dependent (BOLD) functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) study and Morris Water Maze test, and Western blot was employed to confirm tau hyperphosphorylation. The analysis showed following results. (1) Tau phosphorylation at Ser396/Ser4.4.and Ser199/Ser202 was signifi- cantly increased in IP-injected rats as detected by PHF-1 and tau-1, respectively. (2) An AD-like spatial memory retention disturbance was induced at 24.h after isoproterenol injection. (3) A sensitivity threshold of resting T2* signal intensity, which separated the IP-treated rats from vehicle control, was obtained by applying linear regression analysis, and an estimated sensitivity statistical threshold was at 32.62. These results suggest that resting T2* signal may serve as a noninvasive quantitative marker in predicting AD-like spatial memory deficits and tau hyperphosphorylation.

The impacts of the spatiotemporal variations of sea ice salinity on sea ice and ocean characteristics have not been studied in detail, as the existing climate models neglect or misrepresent this process. To address this issue, this paper formulated a parameterization with more realistic sea ice salinity budget, and examined the sensitivity of sea ice and ocean simulations to the ice salinity variations and associated salt flux into the ocean using a coupled global climate model. Results show that the inclusion of such a parameterization leads to an increase and thickening of sea ice in the Eurasian Arctic and within the ice pack in the Antarctic circumpolar region, and a weakening of the North Atlantic Deep Water and a strengthening of the Antarctic Bottom Water. The atmospheric responses associated with the ice changes were also discussed.

Ustaoglu presents a secure and efficient key exchange protocol named CMQV,based on the design rationales of HMQV and *** with the latter two protocols,on one hand,CMQV achieves high performance of HMQV,and on the other,it is proven secure in eCK model as NAXOS ***,CMQV enjoys the security proof under gap Diffie-Hellman assumption as indicated by its *** this paper,we propose a variant of CMQV,called CMQV+,which is proven secure under a weaker assumption (*** Diffie-Hellman assumption) in eCK model with random oracles while maintaining the high-performance feature of CMQV as much as possible.

The formation process and characteristics ofcloud physical structure of a severe thunderstorm accompa-nied with strong wind on 23 August, 2001 in beijing wasstudied using PSU/NCAR mesoscale model ( MM5) couplingwith a severe storm model with hail-bin microphysics. Theresults show that the specific topography and distributionfeatures of cold/warm current in the beijing region playedprominent roles in forming, developing and maintaining thesevere storm. Due to solar radiation heating and topographiclifting, the convective cells were easily formed when thewesterly airflow passed over high mountainous regions inbeijing. The warm and wet air entered the cloud from itsfrontage and enhanced the convection, and formed a largeamount of graupel/hail particles at the middle and upperportion of the clouds. The precipitation was primarilyformed due to melting of graupel/hail particles. The strongdowndraft was mainly produced by negative buoyancy dueto loading, melting of graupel/hail particles as well asevaporative cooling of rain water. The divergent airflow in-duced by the strong downdraft led to the disastrous burstwinds at the surface and also forced lifting of warm and wetairflow in the moving direction of the storm and formed newclouds that further promoted and maintained the storm de-velopment.

Atmospheric circulation reconstruction based on glaciochemical records requires knowledge of chemical concentration controls, such as source, transport pathway and strength. To gain insight into these processes, the relationships between glaciochemical records from two Northern Hemisphere sites (Mt. Logan in Yukon Territory and 20D in southern Greenland) and instrumental sea level pressure (SLP) series are investigated. Calibrations between Mt. Logan sea-salt sodium (ssNa+) concentration and SLP series show that ssNa+ concentrations are closely correlated with the autumntime (SON) Aleutian Low and the summertime (JJA) North Pacific Subtropical high. Both the deepened Aleutian Low and enhanced North Pacific Sub- tropical high strengthen the transport of sea-salt aerosols from the North Pacific to the Mt. Logan region. Calibrations between 20D ssNa+ concentrations and SLP series indicate that ssNa+ concentrations are closely related to the wintertime (Jan.) Icelandic Low. A deepening of the Icelandic Low strengthens winter storms and frequent cyclogenesis over the North Atlantic and pushes more sea-salt laden air masses to the Greenland ice sheet. Therefore, ice core ssNa+ records from the Mt. Logan region can be considered as a proxy for reconstructing the au- tumntime Aleutian Low and summertime North Pacific Subtropical high, and the ssNa+ records from Greenland ice core (20D) may provide a proxy for reconstructing the wintertime Icelandic Low.

Flooding of harmful information on the Internet seriously endangers the physiological and mental health of teenagers. Due to the user-friendliness of the Internet as well as the difficulty in the authentication for the access of specific categories of information, curbing the transmission of harmful information, i.e., assuring the information content security (ICS), has become a reasonable yet challenging alternative. At present, there is an urgent need to develop a systematic model that can effectively carry out the curbing. In fact, curbing the transmission of harmful information by way of filtering can be modeled by access control. In the paper, based on the three core-elements of communication, namely, "Who communicates with whom", "How do they communicate" and "What is the content of communication", we propose a control model, called ICCON. Unlike the existing access control, the reference monitor (RM) of our model is placed in the transmission channel, and moreover, an evaluation frame is proposed, through which the effectiveness of the RM in controlling information transmission on the Internet can be quantitatively evaluated.
