Spherical microfossils are present in the Hindeodus parvus zone of the Lower Triassic in Ziyun, Guizhou *** generally range from 0.15 to 0.30 mm across,with micritic wall and filled by micro-sparry calcites,and are evenly scattered in micritic *** abundance makes the rock assigned to *** accompanied organisms include ostracods and algal mat,but no gastropods or *** of small(2) limestone with rich globular microfossils such as that described from the Nanpanjiang Basin in China by Lehrmann(1999),(3) dendroidal limestone such as that described from the vicinity of Chongqing by Kershaw et al.(1999),(4) spherical microbial limestone adapted to anoxic environments described from Ziyun,Guizhou reported in this paper,(5) limestone with cyanobacterial fossils such as that described by Wang et al.(2005),and(6) *** these microbialites are not reefs in the proper sense, and the argument that Permian reef ecosystems extended into the Mesozoic is incorrect.

Effects of methamidophos and glyphosate on copper sorption-desorption behavior in soils

A batch-equilibration technique was employed to study the impact of two organophosphorus pesticides methamidophos (MDP) and glyphosate (GPS) on copper (Cu2+) sorptiondesorption for phaeozem and burozem collected from Northeastern China. The addition of the two pesticides decreased Cu2+ sorption, increased Cu2+ desorption and prolonged the equilibrium time of Cu2+ sorption-desorption. But GPS appeared to exert a stronger influence on Cu2+ sorption-desorption due to its stronger complexion with Cu2+. When MDP was added, Cu2+ sorption-desorption was linearly correlated with MDP treatment concentrations. But in the presence of GPS, Cu2+ sorption first underwent a rapid decrease period, and then slowly tended towards a steady period. The reverse pattern could be found for Cu2+ desorption in the presence of *** pesticides and with the existence of MDP, Cu2+ sorption-desorption kinetics was well conformed to two-constant equation and Elovich equation. But that was not the case for Cu2+ desorption kinetics in the presence of GPS although its sorption could be also described by these two equations.

[1]In this study we calculated receiver functions(RFs) from teleseismic P waveforms recorded by stations of four seismic networks to determine the topography of the mantle transition zone(MTZ) beneath the central Tien *** converted the RFs from the time domain to the depth domain and selected the depths of 410 and 660 km discontinuities after stacking the RFs in narrow raypath *** better determine the MTZ topography, we applied an updated RF method to invert the depth differences between the 410 and 660 km discontinuities in each RF for lateral depth variations of the two discontinuities. Using this approach,we detected several anomalies in the 410 and 660 km discontinuity depths beneath the central Tien Shan *** synthetic tests were carried out to confirm the main features of the *** the south and east of Lake Issyk-Kul,the 410 km discontinuity becomes shallower while the 660 km discontinuity becomes deeper, leading to a thicker MTZ with a lower temperature,possibly caused by pieces of thickened lithosphere dropping down to at least the bottom of the *** the northwest of Lake Issyk-Kul,the 410 km discontinuity becomes deeper while the 660 km discontinuity becomes shallower,resulting in a thinner MTZ with a higher temperature,which may reflect a small-scale hot upwelling from the lower mantle.

Photoinduced intramolecular electron transfer and charge separation in zinc phthalocyanine-viologen linked system

Photoinduced electron transfer and charge separation processes in zinc phthalocya-nine-viologen linked system have been studied and the distance effect of donor/acceptor on electron transfer reaction is discussed. It is indicated that the fluorescence from the zinc phthalocyanine moiety is appreciably quenched and the life-time of singlet excited state is reduced by the pendant viologen. Time-resolved transient absorption spectra measurements show that intramolecular quenching of the triplet state of zinc phthalocyanine by the attached viologen results in charge separation giving reduced viologen radical alive for a rather long period with hundred microsecond duration. The effect of the carbon chain length on the electron transfer rate constant and charge separation efficiency suggests that upon excitation, the zinc phthalocyanine and viologen groups tend to take closer conformation with the increase of the carbon chain examined. The rate constant for the intramolecular electron transfer ket with n = 3 to 10 is in the order of 104 s-1 and increases.
