Transport network and flow mechanism of shallow ore-bearing magma in Tongling ore cluster area

Abundant studies revealed that shallow intrusions of the Yanshanian epoch resulted in the mass mineralization of the Tongling region. Various evidences showed there existed a concealed magma chamber at ?10 km depth in the middle part of this region during Yanshanian epoch, from which the ore-forming magma was generated and then transported to the superficial layer. Yet the transport network and flow mechanism of the shallow ore-bearing magma, the key problem associ- ated with ore-forming process, was relatively little focused on. Integrate analysis of structural me- chanics, statistical fractal and geological facts suggested that NE trending high-angle fold-related thrust faults and the tessellated basement ones served as the main pathways for the shallow magma’s transporting, moreover, the saddle void spaces among adjacent strata in the folds upon this fault system provided the place for magma’s emplacement. So the folds in the upper part and faults in the lower part of the upper crust constituted the fluid’s transport and emplacement network. During the deformation of geologic body with multi-layer structure, the layers in the upper part tended to fold when received the jacking stress from the lower part, while the lower one inclined to fault undergoing loads of the upper part. And the producing probability of this structure assemblage was highly in- creased in the condition, such as in the Tongling area, that the mechanic rigidity of the lower layers was stronger than that of the upper ones. For the pre-existence of fluid-conducting network, the top magma with high volatile in the magma chamber transported rapidly to the superficial layer in dyking pattern, located in the void spaces of folds, filled and reconstructed them. The sudden drop of pres- sure caused the fluid unmixing from the magma and mass ore-forming elements concentration. A class of multivariate filter banks with a matrix factorization has been developed by Chen et al. The main purpose of this paper is to discuss some further properties of this kind of filter bank, such as the completeness, accuracy of the corresponding scaling functions and the relationships with Daubechies' wavelets and the multi-wavelets provided by Chui and Lian. Moreover, some examples are given to show that this kind of filter bank has a higher accuracy for the scaling functions.

The Juancheng chondrite, a new meteorite falling recently in Juancheng County, Shandong Province, China, is classified as an H5 (S2) chondrite based on the compositions of olivine (Fa= 19.2, σ Fa=0.46) and low-Ca pyroxene (Fs=16.9, σ Fa=0.4). The plagioclase in the Juancheng chondrite is rich in CaO, indicating a relatively high metamorphic temperature the parent body underwent.

The functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) based on blood oxygen level dependent (BOLD) contrast has emerged as one of the most potent noninvasive tools for mapping brain function and has been widely used to explore physiological, pathological changes and mental activity in the brain. Exploring the nature and property of BOLD signal has recently attracted more attentions. Despite that great progress has been made in investigation of the characteristics and neurophysiological basis, the exact nature of BOLD signal remains unclear. In this paper we discuss the characteristics of BOLD signals, the nonlinear BOLD response to external stimuli and the relation between BOLD signals and neural electrophysiological recordings. Furthermore, we develop our new opinions regarding nonlinear BOLD response and make some perspectives on future study.

Research on the method for retrieving soil moisture using thermal inertia model

In order to improve accuracy of soil moisture inversion using remote sensing, a new thermal inertia model is proposed in this paper. The improved model needs only surface maximum temperature as the temperature parameter input instead of input of the surface temperature difference, as well as the surface sensible and latent fluxes are introduced into boundary conditions of thermal conductivity equation. Furthermore, surface soil conductive heat transfer equation of two-layer model is used to solve the soil thermal inertia so that the remote sensing thermal inertia method can be ap- plied to regions with better-covered vegetation, but usually only for the bare areas or worse vegetation covered areas. The model has been tested at several locations in the area of west Inner Mongolia. Comparing the simulation of the new model with the measurements obtained by apparent thermal inertia and by field test, the result shows that the inertia thermal model can be used to estimate soil moisture in more reasonable accuracy.

Microwave peak absorption frequency of liquid

Microwave-assisted extraction is a new effective method which has practical ap-plications in many fields. Microwave heating is one of its physical mechanisms,and it also has the characteristic of selectivity. When the applied microwave fre-quency equals a certain absorption frequency of the material (or specific compo-nent),the material will intensively absorb microwave energy. This is also known as resonant absorption,and the frequency is called the peak absorption frequency which depends on the physical structure of the material. In this work,dynamic hy-drogen bond energy was included in molecular activation energy; with the liquid cell model,the expression of interaction energy between dipolar molecules was derived. The rotational relaxation time was gotten from the Eyring viscosity formula. Then based on the relationship between dielectric dissipation coefficient and re-laxation time,the expression of microwave peak absorption frequency as a func-tion of the material physical structure,rotational inertia and electrical dipole mo-ment of molecules was established. These theoretical formulas were applied to water and benzene,and the calculated results agree fairly well with the experi-mental data. This work can not only deepen the study of the interaction between microwave and material,but also provide a possible guide for the experiment of microwave-assisted extraction.

ON THE MODULI NUMBER OF PLANE CURVE SINGULARITIES WITHONE CHARACTERISTIC PAIR

The author gives another linear-algebraic proof of the famous result of Zariski, Delorme,Briancon- Granger- Maisonobe about the moduli number of plane curve singularities with the same topological type as Xa + Yb = 0 (i.e.,with one characteristic pair). Since the original proof depends very much on the division theorem of Briancon, it cannot be generalized to higher dimensions. It is hopeful that the proof here will be applied to the higher dimensional cases.

AIM: To investigate the changes of function of large conductance of calcium-activated potassium channels (BKCa channels) in thoracic aortic smooth muscle cells in early stage of streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic C57BL/6J mice. METHODS: Vascular muscle tension in the isolated thoracic aortic rings of mice was compared, and the role of BKCa channels in relaxation of isolated mice thoracic aortic rings induced by acetylcholine (ACh) was determined. Meanwhile, single vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) were isolated by collagenase, and BKCa currents were recorded by patch-clamp single channel recording technique in symmetric high potassium solution. RESULTS: Tetraethylammonium (TEA) 1 mmol/L, a selective calcium-activated potassium channel blocker, caused significant rightward shift in the concentration-response curves of ACh in the isolated thoracic aortic rings of diabetic mice and pD2 value of ACh-induced relaxation was decreased notably after TEA treatment [(6.3.0.4) vs (6.9±0.5), n=10 rings from 7 mice, P2 value of ACh-induced relaxation in age-matched control mice did not change in presence and absence of TEA 1 mmol/L [(6.4±0.15) vs (6.5±0.5), n=7 rings from 6 mice, P>0.05]. Furthermore, conductance of BKCa channels in single thoracic aortic smooth muscle cells was decreased [(199±15) pS, n=10 cells from 7 mice vs (266±11) pS, n=12 cells from 6 mice, P28) vs (0.11±0.06), n=6 cells from 6 mice, P3.±98), n=6 cells from 6 mice, P<0.05]. CONCLUSION: The opening of BKCa channels was increased in thoracic aortic smooth muscle cells in the early stage of STZ-induced diabetic C57BL/6J mice by reducing mean closed time, but the conductance of BKCa channels was decreased.
