Based on the data of the Jiaozhou Bay Ecosystem Dynamic Research, cell volume and sur face area of 87 common phytoplankton species in china sea waters were calculated with assignment of the similar geometric form. The cell plasma volume, live weight, Carbon content and nitrogen content were also calculated with the methods of Mullin et al. (1966), Strathmann (1967), Eppley et al. (1970), and Taguchi (1976). After comparing these methods, we chase the method of Eppley et al. (1970) as the hot method for calculating phytoplankton carbon content in china sea waters.

The data of 16o national meteorological observatory （NMO） stations with long-term monthly temperature data for china were analyzed in this study to show the basin-centered summer temperature decrease against global warming in the past half century. The summer and winter isotherm structures of 1950s and 1990s worked out by interpolation show the isotherm structure variations： the isotherm structure generally moves northward in winter, but in summer it is characterized with separate high-temperature and low-temperature centers and the isotherm structure moves inward the centers with global warming, indicating that the temperature in the highland areas increases but that in the lowland areas decreases in the summer of the duration. The possible mechanism of the basin-centered temperature decrease in summer is discussed in this paper.

Interaction of olfactory receptor (OR) genes with environmental odors is regarded as the first step of *** this study,OR genes of two fish,medaka (Oryzias latipes) and stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus),were identified and an evolutional analysis was *** selection pressure of different TM regions and complete coding region were *** TM regions (TM4,TM5 and TM6) were found to have higher average Ka/Ks values,which might be partly caused by positive selection as suggested by subsequent positive selection *** analysis showed that many PTSs overlap,or are adjacent to previously deduced binding sites in *** results support the hypothesis that binding sites of fish OR genes may evolved under positive selection.

To assess the aquatic ecosystem safety for silica （SiO2） nanoparticles （NPs）, the growth inhibition and photosynthetic pigment contents of Scenedesmus obliquus in logarithm growth phase exposed to SiO2 NPs and SiO2 bulk particles （BPs） suspensions were measured. SiO2 NPs with 10-20 nm diameters were found to be toxic. The 20% effective concentration （EC20） values for 72 and 96 hr were 388.1 and 216.5 mg/L, respectively. The contents of chlorophyll decreased significantly under moderate and high concentration （50, 100, and 200 mg/L） of SiO2 NPs after 96-hr exposure, but the carotenoids did not. SiO2 BPs were found to be nontoxic up to 200 mg/L. The toxicity of SiO2 NPs probablely due to their sorption to algal cells surface. The results imply that there is potential harm to aquatic environment by using SiO2 NPs, and it should deserve special concern.

Three mesocosm experiments were conducted in the East china Sea during blooms of Prorocentrum donghaiense Lu in May of 1998,2002 and 2003 to examine the role of nutrients in the formation of these harmful algae blooms（HABs）.The results showed that there was interspecies competition between *** and Skeletonema costatum（Grev.） *** cell number of *** and *** accounted for about 85% and 11% of the total cell number of phytoplankton respectively at the beginning of the experiment in May *** May 2002,at the beginning of the experiment,the cell number of *** accounted for 55%-66% of the total and *** accounted for 32%-42%.The density of *** and *** was over 95% and 1%-5% respectively in May *** results of these three mesocosm experiments showed that the dominant species in this specific community varied with different nutrient *** low-phosphate conditions,the dominant species was ***,while *** became dominant in phosphate-replete *** average growth rate（1.08 d-1） of *** in exponential growth phase was higher than that（0.39 d-1） of *** the mesocosm,*** predominated in the mesocosm by its rapid *** phosphorus was depleted,the cell number of *** dropped rapidly,while *** Lu decreased more *** results from mesocosm experiment may explain why：（1） *** bloom usually occurs in May,when phosphate concentration is low;（2） the bloom of *** appears in early spring and summer time,when nutrients increase with increasing Changjiang River（Yangtze River） runoff;（3） the bloom of *** is short and that of *** Lu can last more than a month in the East china Sea.

Vibrio vulnificus is an opportunistic pathogen widely distributed in estuarine and coastal seawaters. In this study, a culture-free method was developed to rapid detection of Vo vulnificus in all seasons, based on loop-mediated isothermal amplification （LAMP） targeting virulent-correlated gene （vcg）. The new assay method allows differentiation between the virulent and non-virulent strain of V. vulnificus accurately. This method also allows effective detection of the pathogeny in winter when the bacterium lives in the viable but non-culturable （VBNC） state. A total of 30 costal seawater samples collected in all seasons were used for the evaluation of this method. The results show that the method is sensitive, accurate and convenient.

The Zoige wetland is the biggest alpine wetland in the world,and an important water resource of the Yellow *** to natural and human factors,the Zoige wetland has been seriously *** studies on the Zoige wetland mainly focus on the macro features of the wetland,while the influence of the surrounding faults on the Zoige wetland degradation is rarely *** study uses terrain data to analyze the cover change and the water loss caused by the Wqie-Seji fault based on the distributed hydrological *** simulated water loss demonstrates that the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI) is the most important factor for inducing water *** fault is also a factor that cannot be neglected,which has caused 33% of the wetland water ***,it is of importance to study the influence of the fault on the wetland degradation.

This study evaluated the median lethal concentration （LC50） and safe concentration of water-borne ammonia, phosphate and pH value on Physocypria kraepelini, a freshwater Ostracoda with a static renewal test system. The results indicated that the LC50 values of ammonia for P. kraepelini were 1026.71, 859.98, 771.79 and 583.82 mg/L at 24, 48, 72 and 96 h exposure, respectively, and the safe concentration range of ammonia for the long-term survival of P. kraepelini was less than 58.38 mg/L. The safe range of pH value for the survival of P. kraepelini was from 6.59 to 7.61. P. kraepelini has a high tolerance to ammonia, phosphate and pH value which are the main environmental factors in the serious eutrophication water.
