Forest certification has developed very quickly across the world as one of the most important market initiative to promote sustainable forest management (SFM). Its success and effectiveness are influenced by some key factors, including credibility, cost effectiveness, certification standard, effectiveness, equitableness, government's role and laws/regulations framework. The paper analyzed these key factors to the success of forest certification and put forward relevant suggestions and advices for china to develop forest certification.

The paper chose two counties (Qis) in Inner Mongolia as the research areas to study the policies of conversion of farmland to forest and grazing prohibition and indoor raising implemented in there, which are closely related to the interests of farmers and herdsmen. Based on the investigation and interview among farmer households, the paper analyzed the consistency between land degradation prevention and control policy and the needs of farmers and herdsmen, and finally presented the countermeasures and suggestions which are conducive to improving the effectiveness of land degradation prevention and control policy.

Based on collected data and information from journals, newspapers, internet and reports, the main distribution regions of china’s enterprises in Russia were presented firstly. According to the investigation by questionnaire and telephone, the general situation of chinese enterprises exploiting forest resources in Russia was introduced and analyzed. The main difficulties faced by chinese enterprises in Russia were summarized. Future trends faced by chinese enterprises, such as increasing competition, encouraging timber downstream processing projects, increasing exploiting costs and more preferential policies on developing forest resources, were described in the end.

Different researchers select different factors and use different methods to assess the regional hazard degrees of debris now. consequenily, even for the same region, tb.. are often different hazard zonation maps, and there must be some uncertainty in the zonations. Thus the ceriainty analysis of zonation maps becomes obviously *** debris now hazard, those zonation maps with a certainty analysis could provide most valuable information for land users, hazard managers and policy makers. By comparison of three researchers’ findings in Yunnan Province, this paPer shows that seven to nine iafluential factors are chosen for the zonation maps. spatial density of debris flow ravines,regional average rock-weathering coefficient, yearly precipitation, days of≥50 mm daily rainfall, and proportion of sloping land with slope≥25℃to the total land are the most acceptable factors. Mathemahcal methods of maximum-minimumvalues, upperlower limit values and Fuzzy values are used to quantify the factors. Step-by-step methodoogy is commonly used for the zonation maps. Research results show that mchmum uncedrinty is 66. 6% and minimum uncertainty is 35.7% in debris now hazard maps of zhaotong Prefecture and Yunnan Province. Therefore there is still much work for us to improve the zonation methedology.
