A measuring method of effects of herbs based on classification used for intelligent calculation of efficacies of prescriptions

It is important to translate dosage of each medical herb in a prescription into intensity of its effects measured by mathematical models. In this paper, we present intelligent calculational algorithms on efficacies of prescriptions of chinese Medicine (CM), study "how curative effects of any herb depend on dosage" when constructing CM intelligent systems, and discuss relevant issues and definitions. In order to measure intensities of effects of all herbs reasonably, the natural classification method is proposed to classify herbs into 38 natural classes according to their dosage ranges using the knowledge of CM dosage and distribution rules of herbs. Then the 38 natural classes are clustered to 6 basic classes reflecting characteristic attributes of various herbs. Based on the results of classified herbs, a set of nonlinear measuring functions of intensities of effects is designed for various basic classes. These functions have been embedded in our intelligent calculation system of efficacies of prescriptions. The effects of 560 herbs and curative efficacies of more than 1000 prescriptions derived from "ShangHan Lun", "JinGui YaoLue", "Ming Jia Yi An", etc., have been calculated and discovered successfully. It is proved that the accuracy of theses results by these models has been obviously enhanced.

Based on the Estuarine, Coastal and Ocean Modeling System with Sediments （ECOMSED） model, a 3-D hydrodynamic-transport numerical model was established for the offshore area near the Yangtze Estuary in the East china Sea .The hydrodynamic module was driven by tide and wind. Sediment module included sediment resuspension, transport and deposition of cohesive and non-cohesive sediment. The settling of cohesive sediment in the water column was modeled as a fimction of aggregation （flocculation） and deposition. The numerical results were compared with observation data for August, 2.06. It shows that the sediment concentration reduces gradually from the seashore to the offshore area. Numerical results of concentration time series in the observation stations show two peaks and two valleys, according with the observation data. It is mainly affected by tidal current. The suspended sediment concentration is related to the tidal current during a tidal cycle, and the maximum concentration appears 1 h-4 h after the current maximum velocity has reached.

We report results of the H2.O and H110α survey toward 2.1 UCHII regions using the Urumqi 2.m radio *** obtained 37 new H2.O detections,and H110α was simultaneously detected in eight of *** H110α was detected in another UCHII *** calculated kinematic distances of nine UCHII regions with the detected H110α and resolved the kinematic distance ambiguity for six of *** detection rate of H2.O of our observation was 13.2.,which is low compared with one of the other *** possible reason is that the sensitivity of our telescope is relatively low.

Nd-Pb isotopic geochemistry of metabasalt from Dur抧goi ophiolite, Qinghai Prov-ince, NW china reveals the presence of DMM mixing with EMII components in its upper mantle source, which is comparable with present Indian MORB. Comparisons indicate that the geo-chemistry, chronology and source characteristics of Dur抧goi ophiolite coincide with Pa-leo-tethyan ophiolites from 揝anjiang?area. Together with evidences from regional geology in adjacent areas, this study proves that independent paleo-tethyan basins evolved contemporarily, the dynamics of which is attributed to the interaction of mantle plume with over-riding lithosphere.

To link regional land use/cover changes with environmental effects, land cover changes are required to reflect vegetation successions, whereas the land cover classification systems commonly used nowadays cannot serve this purpose. In this paper, a new land cover classification system is established in which land covers are classified by the vegetation succes-sions, taking Zamtang County, Barkam County and Jinchuan County in the upper Dadu River watershed as a study area. Using multi-temporal remote sensing images, the land cover data of 1967, 1986 and 2.00 are obtained by means of integration of unsupervised classification and visual interpretation methods. The database facilitates the study of land use/cover changes, en-vironmental effects and ecological construction. Land cover changes reflect the main ecological processes in the upper Dadu River watershed. The landscape composed mainly of grasslands, wildwoods and alpine scrubs in 1967 was changed to that of grasslands, secondary forests, al-pine scrubs, fragmentary wildwoods, artificial forests, secondary scrubs in 2.00, meanwhile, the landscape got more fragmentized. The total area of the forests decreased by 9.43%. Study results have shown the process of restoration of logged areas in forest centers. From 1967 to 2.00, only 6.86 percents of logged areas were converted to shrubs, meadows or crop-lands, and the rest were converted into artificial forests or secondary forests. So the ecological shelter functions will be restored, stage by stage. Firewood collection, charcoal production and overgrazing are the three major triggers for the extensive degradation of alpine oak forests, Sa-bina tibetica forests and meadows. The arid valley grasslands expanded too. The degradation of vegetation in the southern slopes impairs ecological shelter functions and affects livelihood of local residents, so it is essential to find effective measures for ecological restoration and recon-struction. Formal concept analysis (FCA) and description logic (DL) are meant to be formalizations of concepts.A formal concept in the former consists of its intent and extent,where the intent is the set of all the attributes shared by each object in the extent of the concept,and the extent is the set of all the objects sharing each property in the intent of the concept.A concept in the latter formalization is simply a concept name,the interpretation of which is a subset of a *** consider the correspondence between concepts in both formalizations,a multi-valued formal context must be represented both as a knowledge base and as a model of the DL for contexts,where concepts are decomposed into tuple concepts C,interpreted as a set of tuples and value concepts V,interpreted as a set of attribute-value *** show that there is a difference between the interpretation of concepts R.V /R.C and the Galois connection between the extent/intent of formal concepts in *** to the Galois connection,there should be concepts of the form + R.V and + R.C inter-preted in FCA,and hence the logical language L for DL is extended to be L + together with + as a constructor so that + R.V and + R.C are well-defined ***,according to the interpretation in DL there should be pseudo concepts in FCA so that the interpretation of concepts R.V /R.C is the extent/intent of pseudo *** correspondence between formal concepts and concepts in L +,and between pseudo concepts and concepts in L are presented in this paper.

Global surface temperature shows an increasing trend over the past 100 *** and natural factors have been invoked to explain this warming, but their relative contribution and the spatial variability remain *** on a 2.50-year temperature record from a stalagmite near beijing, we explore the possible impacts of human activity on the warm season temperature in beijing since the industrial era using the method of singular spectrum analysis (SSA).The results suggest that the warm season temperature in beijing under the natural forcing should have an overall decreasing trend for the past 130 years (1870 to 2.00 AD) with an amplitude of 0.45±0.84°C, while the instrumental record and stalagmite data show an increase of 1.08°*** imply that human activity would have caused an increase in the warm season temperature of beijing for about 1.53±0.84°C compared to its natural trends, from 1870 AD to 2.00 *** results also suggest that anthropogenic forcing began to significantly influence the temperature since 1870 AD, and the effect further intensified since 1915 AD.

This paper studies the stability of jointed rock slopes by using our improved three-dimensional discrete element methods (DEM) and physical modeling. Results show that the DEM can simulate all failure modes of rock slopes with different joint configurations. The stress in each rock block is not homogeneous and blocks rotate in failure development. Failure modes depend on the configuration of joints. Toppling failure is observed for the slope with straight joints and sliding failure is observed for the slope with staged joints. The DEM results are also compared with those of limit equilibrium method (LEM). Without considering the joints in rock masses, the LEM predicts much higher factor of safety than physical modeling and DEM. The failure mode and factor of safety predicted by the DEM are in good agreement with laboratory tests for any jointed rock slope.

Experimental investigations are performed in a three-stage low-speed axial compressor with variable inlet guide vanes(IGV) and adjustable *** characteristics of the compressor,especially the efficiency and stall margin,are analyzed in design and off-design operation conditions by adjusting stagger angles of IGV and stators as well as changing the rotational *** experimental results show that the off-design performance of the multistage axial compressor is improved by restaggering of IGV and stators related to rotational *** the background of engineering applications,digital signal processing(DSP) technique is used to realize online adjustment of stagger angles according to the corresponding relations between incidence angles of rotor and rotational speed.
