Confirmation of a natural hybrid species in Petrocosmea(gesneriaceae) based on molecular and morphological evidence

A natural hybrid species in Petrocosmea named Longianthera in Yanshan County,Yunnan Province is confirmed for the first time based on molecular and morphological *** character count procedure of the variable characters show that Longianthera populations are characteristic of the intermediate morphological traits between its putative parents Yanshan and Petrocosmea *** nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer region and three chloroplast regions of matK,trnL-F,and trnT-L are sequenced in the putative hybrid and the related *** alignment of DNA sequences and the phylogenetic trees could exclude all the other species in Petrocosmea as the parental species except for Yanshan and *** haplotypes in the 31 internal transcribed spacer sequences and six haplotypes in 42.cpDNA sequences were found from 14 individuals of Longianthera *** analyses of DNA sequences,haplotypes,and phylogenetic trees indicate that Longianthera is likely a hybrid species between its putative parents Yanshan and ***,in which Yanshan might be the most possible maternal *** factors may contribute to the natural hybridization between these two parental species in Petrocosmea,such as the overlapped geographic distribution,habitats,flowering periods,and shared ***,the new species of Yanshan and the natural hybrid species of Longianthera are described.

On some tests-based projection pursuit for elliptical symmetry of a high-dimensional distribution

Some test statistics of Kolmogorov type and Cramér-von Mises type based on projection pursuit technique are proposed for the testing problem of sphericity of a high-dimensional distribution. The limiting distributions of the test statistics are derived under the null hypothesis and under any fixed alternative. The asymptotic properties of bootstrap approximation are investigated. Furthermore, for computational reasons, an approximation for the statistics, based on the number theoretic method, is suggested.

Persistent anomalous flows over the subtropical western Pacific insummer

The distribution of global persistent anomalies shows that the subtropical western Pacific is a key region with high_frequency occurrence of persistent anomalies. Analyses of streamfunction anomalies, OLR anomalies etc. suggest that the convective heating related to Indian monsoon might be responsible for the development of WPA. The results of numerical experiment by two linear barotropic models support the observation.

The concepts and calculation methods of ionospheric eclipse factor (IEF) and ionospheric influence factor (IFF) are further illustrated. The temporal and spacial variation properties of IEF and IFF are studied, which shows that the properties are influenced by the geographic position and season. The possibility of improving the precision of using gPS data to determine ionospheric delay based on the above variation properties is also analysed.

Experimental investigations are performed in a three-stage low-speed axial compressor with variable inlet guide vanes(IgV) and adjustable *** characteristics of the compressor,especially the efficiency and stall margin,are analyzed in design and off-design operation conditions by adjusting stagger angles of IgV and stators as well as changing the rotational *** experimental results show that the off-design performance of the multistage axial compressor is improved by restaggering of IgV and stators related to rotational *** the background of engineering applications,digital signal processing(DSP) technique is used to realize online adjustment of stagger angles according to the corresponding relations between incidence angles of rotor and rotational speed.

Improvement of different source function expressions in SWAN model for the Bohai Sea

The simulating wave nearshore （SWAN） wave model has been widely used in coastal areas, lakes and estuaries. However, we found a poor agreement between modeling results and measurements in analyzing the chosen four typical cases when we used the default parameters of the source function formulas of the SWAN to make wave simulation for the Bohai Sea. Also, it was found that at the same wind process the simulated results of two wind generation expressions （Komen, Janssen） demonstrated a large difference. Further study showed that the proportionality coefficient α in linear growth term of wave growth source function plays an unperceived role in the process of wave development. Based on experiments and analysis, we thought that the coefficient α should change rather than be a constant. Therefore, the coefficient α changing with the variation of friction velocity U*was introduced into the linear growth term of wave growth source function. Four weather processes were adopted to validate the improvement in the linear growth term. The results from the improved coefficient α agree much better with the measurements than those from the default constant coefficient α. Furthermore, the large differences of results between Komen wind generation expression and Janssen wind generation expression were eliminated. We also experimented with the four weather processes to test the new white-capping mechanisms based on the cumulative steepness method. It was found that the parameters of the new white-capping mechanisms are not suitable for the Bohai Sea, but Alkyon's white-capping mechanisms can be applicable to the Bohai Sea after amendments, demonstrating that this improvement of parameter α can improve the simulated results of the Bohai Sea.

The pollen morphology of 11 species of the genus glycyrrhiza *** one from each of the genera glycyrrhizopsis Boiss.& *** Meristotropis Fisch.& *** investigated by scanning electron *** pollen morphology,the main differences between glycyrrhizopsis and glycyrrhiza are:glycyrrhizopsis-pollen grains 36.63 × 40.42.μm in size,oblate spheroidal in shape;and glycyrrhiza-pollen grains 2..47-33.18 × 2..82.31.83 μm in size,prolate spheroidal in *** and glycyrrhiza should be recognized as two distinct genera based on palynological and morphological *** and glycyrrhiza are similar in many important palynological and morphological characters,suggesting that the two should be *** glycyrrhiza,two types of pollen grains,3-lobed-circular or subtriangular in polar view,are found in different species,in accordance with morphological differences in the two groups,shedding light on the classification and evolution of the genus.

The features of gravity field and deep structure in western part of the South Yellow Sea

The gravity data from the sea region to the west of 12.° E of the South Yellow Sea have been processed and the feature of gravity fields analyzed. An experience relationship formula on the filter wavelength and corresponding depth has been put forward. Combined with the geological and seismic data, the deep tectonic framework and structural characters as well as possible favourable prospecting district for hydrocarbon in the South Yellow Sea have been discussed and analyzed.
