Interactions between very/extremely low frequency (VLF/ELF) waves and energetic electrons play a fundamental role in dynamics occurring in the inner magnetosphere. Here, we briefly discuss global properties of VLF/ELF waves, along with the variability of the electron radiation belts associated with wave-particle interactions and radial diffusion. We provide cases of electron loss and acceleration as a result of wave-particle interactions primarily due to such waves, and particularly some preliminary results of 3D evolution of phase space density from our currently developing 3D code. We comment on the existing mechanisms responsible for acceleration and loss, and identify several critical issues that need to be addressed. We review latest progress and suggest open questions for future investigation.

Temperature dependence of tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) ratio, resistance, and coercivity from 4.2.K to room temperature (RT), applied de bias voltage dependence of the TMR ratio and resistances at 4.2.K and RT, tunnel current I and dynamic conductance dI/dV as functions of the de bias voltage at 4.2.K, and inelastic electron tunneling (IET) spectroscopy, d(2.I/dV(2. versus V, at 4.2.K for a tunnel junction of Ta(5 nm)/Ni79Fe2.(2. nm)/Ir2.Mn78(12.nm)/Co75Fe2.(4 nm)/Al(0.8 nm)-oxide/Co75Fe2.(4 nm)/Ni79Fe2.(2. nm)/Ta(5 nm) were systematically investigated. High TMR ratio of 59.2. at 4.2.K and 41.3% at RT were observed for this junction after annealing at 2.5 degreesC for an hour. The temperature dependence of TMR ratio and resistances from 4.2.to 300 K at 1.0 mV bias and the de bias voltage dependence of TMR ratio at 4.2.K from 0 to 80 mV can be evaluated by a comparison of self-consistent calculations with the experimental data based on the magnon-assisted inelastic excitation model and theory. An anisotropic wavelength cutoff energy of spin-wave spectrum in magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) was suggested, which is necessary for self-consistent calculations, based on a series of IET spectra observed in the MTJs.

A finite element method is developed for simulating frequency domain electromagnetic responses due to a dipole source in the 2.D conductive structures. Computing costs are considerably minimized by reducing the full three-dimensional problem to a series of two-dimensional problems. This is accomplished by transforming the problem into y-wave number （Ky） domain using Fourier transform and the y-axis is parallel to the structural strike. In the Ky domain, two coupled partial differential equations for magnetic field Hy and electric field ey are derived. For a specific value of Ky, the coupled equations are solved by the finite element method with isoparametric elements in the x-z plane. Application of the inverse Fourier transform to the Ky, domain provides the electric and magnetic fields in real space. The equations derived can be applied to general complex two-dimensional structures containing either electric or magnetic dipole source in any direction. In the modeling of the electromagnetic measurement, we adopted a pseudo-delta function to distribute the dipole source current and circumvent the problem of singularity at the source point. Moreover, the suggested method used isoparametric finite elements to accommodate the complex subsurface formation. For the large scale linear system derived from the discretization of the Maxwell＇s equations, several iterative solvers were used and compared to select the optimal one. A quantitative test of accuracy was presented which compared the finite element results with analytic solutions for a dipole source in homogeneous space for different ranges and different wave numbers Ky. to validate the addressed the effects of the distribution range τ of the homogeneous medium. code and check its effectiveness. Several spiral groove gas film face seals (SGFS) with different layouts are compared quantitatively to analyze their merits and faults and application behaviors. In addition, a parametric study on downstream mode SGFS is conducted to determine its optimal parameters under certain working conditions. In tne computation of gas film pressure on the face, finite element method (FEM) is applied to adapt to complicated geometrical boundary.
