An array electrode technique was developed as a novel electrochemical method for studying the interaction between macrocell and microcell in the early corrosion process of reinforcing steel in cement *** corrosion potential and galvanic current of macrocell corrosion of the reinforcing steel in cement mortar were imaged by the array electrode technique during the corrosion initiation and *** was certified that the corrosion macrocell current is closely related with the difference of corrosion potential between the anodic and cathodic *** corrosion macrocell and microcell always exist during the corrosion *** interaction of corrosion macrocell and corrosion microcell of steel in concrete was directly sensed by the array electrode for the first time,and was discussed in terms of corrosion electrochemistry.

The process of various ions and molecules getting into and out of cells is critical for plant survival. The non-invasive scanning ion-selective electrode technique (SIET) is a non-invasive method to obtain the information of ions/molecules across membranes in plant. This technique can measure the absolute concentration of ions and molecules, and also their fluxes and directions of movement. The samples to be analyzed can be a single cell, a piece of tissue, a whole organ and even an intact seedling. This article reviews the recent progress made in plant physiology by using this technique and discusses its potentials in future studies on plant physiology.

Approximate linear methods and nonlinear methods were adopted usually for solving models of nonlinear surveying and mapping parameters adjustment. But, these iterative algorithms need to compare harsh initial value. A kind of new algorithm-adaptive algorithm based on analyzing the general methods was put forward. The new algorithm has quick rate of convergence and low dependence for initial value, so it can avoid calculating complex second derivative of the target function. The results indicate that its performance is better than those of the others.

Reproductive apparatus of Gracilaria/Gracilariopsis lemaneiformis collected from qingdao city were studied with a light and a transmission electron microscope. The special superficial arrangement of spermatangium for this species was clearly observed, and the ultrastructure of spermatangial devel-opment revealed the similar cytodynamic pattern followed by all the Gracilariaceae members devel-oped from spermatangial mother cells to spermatangium. The female reproductive apparatus before fertilization was also observed and trichogyne was found protruding above the cortex, contrary to the earlier reports. Tetrasporangium was formed by an outer cortical cell and the tetraspores became spherical and expended after being released.

A protocol of quantum secret sharing between multiparty and multiparty with four states was presented. It was shown that this protocol can nullify the Trojan horse attack with a multi-photon signal, the fake-signal attack with Einstein-Podolsky- Rosen pairs, the attack with single photons, and the attack with invisible photons. In addition, the upper bounds of the average success probabilities were given for dishonest agent eavesdropping encryption using the fake-signal attack with any two-particle entangled states.

As one of the most effective measures to extract useful information from medical database and provide scientific decision-making for diagnosis and treatment of diseases, medical data mining has become an increasingly hot topic in the last few years. Some of the intrinsic characteristics of medical databases, such as the huge volume and imbalanced samples as well as stringent performance standards, make this mining process particularly challenging. By elaborating various challenges existing in Task 1 of KDD Cup 2.08 competition, this paper analyzes some potential solutions to these problems and presents a modified boosted tree as the final classification model. This model ranked the fourth among all the solutions to Task 1. We hope that our analysis and solutions to these challenges would contribute to the development of medical data mining applications.

Level Set interface treatment method is introduced into Euler method,which is employed for interface treatment method for multi-materials. Combined with the ghost fluid method,the moving interface is tracked. Fifth-order WENO spatial discretization and third-order TVD Runge-Kutta time discretization methods are used. Shock-wave action on bubble,implosion and velocity field Shock effect bubbles; implosion and velocity field are simulated by means of LS-MMIC3D programmed by C++. Nu-merical results show that the Level Set interface treatment method is effective and feasible for multi-material interface treatment in comparison with the WENO method.

Real-time and reliable measurements of the effluent quality are essential to improve operating efficiency and reduce energy consumption for the wastewater treatment *** to the low accuracy and unstable performance of the traditional effluent quality measurements,we propose a selective ensemble extreme learning machine modeling method to enhance the effluent quality *** learning machine algorithm is inserted into a selective ensemble frame as the component model since it runs much faster and provides better generalization performance than other popular learning *** extreme learning machine models overcome variations in different trials of simulations for single *** ensemble based on genetic algorithm is used to further exclude some bad components from all the available ensembles in order to reduce the computation complexity and improve the generalization *** proposed method is verified with the data from an industrial wastewater treatment plant,located in Shenyang,*** results show that the proposed method has relatively stronger generalization and higher accuracy than partial least square,neural network partial least square,single extreme learning machine and ensemble extreme learning machine model.
