As the original Global Position System (GPS) data in Floating Car Data have the accuracy problem,this paper proposes a heuristic path-estimating algorithm for large-scale real-time traffic information calculating. It uses the heuristic search method,imports the restriction with geometric operation,and makes comparison between the vectors composed of the vehicular GPS points and the special road network model to search the set of vehicular traveling route candidates. Finally,it chooses the most optimal one according to weight. Experimental results indicate that the algorithm has considerable efficiency in accuracy (over 92.7%) and com-putational speed (max 8000 GPS records per second) when handling the GPS tracking data whose sampling rate is larger than 1 min even under complex road network conditions.

In this paper, we propose a new criterion, named PICa, to simultaneously select explanatory variables in the mean model and variance model in heteroscedastic linear models based on the model structure. We show that the new criterion can select the true mean model and a correct variance model with probability tending to 1 under mild conditions. Simulation studies and a real example are presented to evaluate the new criterion, and it turns out that the proposed approach performs well.

Objective To investigate the effects of 3,4-dichloroaniline （3,4-DCA） on activities of testicle enzymes as biological markers in rats. Methods Fifty male rats were randomly divided into 5 groups （n=10）. One group was left untreated and used as a solvent control （administered orally by corn oil）, while the other 4 groups were treated with 3, 4-DCA. Corn oil was used as a solvent, and 3,4-DCA was diluted into tested concentrations （39, 81, 170, and 357 mg/kg）. All the groups orally administered 3,4-DCA or corn oil, once a day for 4 weeks. The testicle tissue was homogenized in a 0.1 mol/L potassium phosphate buffer （0.1 mol/L, pH 7.2）. The crude homogenate was centrifuged at 6000 rpm for 5 min at 4 ~C. The supernatant obtained was used as an enzyme extract for determination of the enzyme activities. Results Compared with the control, the activities of ALP, ACP, and SDH were increased significantly at a lower level of 3,4-DCA, and decreased at a higher level of 3, 4-DCA, whreas the activities of LDH, LDH-X, and G6PDH were inhibited significantly with the increased 3,4-DCA concentration. Organ coefficient ＂organ weight/total body weight × 100＂ of testis, liver, and spleen increased significantly with the increased 3,4-DCA concentration. These results suggest that 3,4-DCA toxicity to the male reproductive system was associated with the activities of testicular enzymes which are the sensitive biochemical endpoints reflecting 3,4-DCA toxicity to the male reproductive system. Conclusion 3,4-DCA has toxicity to the reproductive system in male rats.

In this paper, a partially linear single-index model is investigated, and three empirical log-likelihood ratio statistics for the unknown parameters in the model are suggested. It is proved that the proposed statistics are asymptotically standard chi-square under some suitable conditions, and hence can be used to construct the confidence regions of the parameters. Our methods can also deal with the confidence region construction for the index in the pure single-index model. A simulation study indicates that, in terms of coverage probabilities and average areas of the confidence regions, the proposed methods perform better than the least-squares method.

β-amyloid peptide （Aβ） is considered to be responsible for the formation of senile plaques,which is the hallmark of Alzheimer's disease （AD）.Oxidative stress,manifested by protein oxidation andlipid peroxidation,among other alterations,is a characteristic of AD brain.A growing body of evidence hasbeen presented in support of Aβ1-40forming an oligomeric complex that binds copper at a CuZn superoxidedismutase-like binding site. Aβ1-40Cu（Ⅱ） complexes generate neurotoxic hydrogen peroxide （H2O2） from O2via Cue+ reduction,though the precise reaction mechanism is *** toxicity of Aβ1-40or the Aβ1-40Cu（Ⅱ）complexes to cultured primary cortical neurons was partially attenuated when （+）-α-tocopherol （vitamin E）as free radical antioxidant was added at a concentration of 100 μ*** data derived from lactate dehydro-genase （LDH） release and the formation of H2O2confirmed the results from the MTT *** findingsindicate that copper binding to Aβ1-40can give rise to greater production of H2O2, which leads to a break-down in the integrity of the plasma membrane and subsequent neuronal *** treated with vitaminE exhibited much slighter damage,suggesting that vitamin E plays a key role in protecting neuronal cellsfrom dysfunction or death.

A partially linear model with longitudinal data is considered, empirical likelihood to infer- ence for the regression coefficients and the baseline function is investigated, the empirical log-likelihood ratios is proven to be asymptotically chi-squared, and the corresponding confidence regions for the pa- rameters of interest are then constructed. Also by the empirical likelihood ratio functions, we can obtain the maximum empirical likelihood estimates of the regression coefficients and the baseline function, and prove the asymptotic normality. The numerical results are conducted to compare the performance of the empirical likelihood and the normal approximation-based method, and a real example is analysed.

Poly(N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate) (polyDMAEMA) hydrogels prepared by gamma-irradiation showed obvious temperature-sensitivity in a temperature range of 38-40degreesC and pH-sensitivity at pH=2.5. They also showed electric response behavior although it was not typical. The hydrogels were used in controlled release at different pH, temperature, and electric voltage. The release rates of methylene blue (MB) from the gels at 52degreesC and pH=1.24 were faster than those at 20degreesC and pH=10.56, respectively. In addition, the release rate at a field voltage of 5.0 was also faster than that without electric field.

We establish the convergence of the Vlasov-Poisson-Fokker-Planck system to the incompressible Euler equations in this paper. The convergence is rigorously proved on the time interval where the smooth solution to the incompressible Euler equations exists. The proof relies on the compactness argument and the so-called relative-entropy method.

Using a small quantity of DNA molecules and little experimental time to solve complex problems successfully is a goal of DNA computing. Some NP-hard problems have been solved by DNA computing with lower time complexity than conventional computing. However, this advantage often brings higher space complexity and needs a large number of DNA encoding molecules. One example is graph coloring problem. Current DNA algorithms need exponentially increasing DNA encoding strands with the growing of problem size. Here we propose a new DNA algorithm of graph coloring problem based on the proof of four-color theorem. This algorithm has good properties of needing a relatively small number of operations in polynomial time and needing a small number of DNA encoding molecules (we need only 6R DNA encoding molecules if the number of regions in a graph is R).
