The zirconia-doped mullite gel fibers were prepared via a sol-gel method. The thermal behaviors of the gel fibers during pyrolysis were investigated by means of thermal gravity-differential scanning calorimetry (TG-DSC), in-situ fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (in-situ FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). It was found that the mass loss during calcination can be divided into two stages, i.e. 50% below 400 ℃ and 3% during 550-700 ℃. The three exothermic peaks in DSC curves were attributed to the burning of organics, decomposition of nitrates and mullite transformation, respectively. H2O, CO2 and NO2 were generated during the pyrolysis of mullite gel fibers, and the concentration of NO2 was higher than CO2. The activation energy (Ea) of mullite transformation was calculated by a non-isothermal method, which was the smallest for the 1% ZrO2-doped gel fiber (1145 kJ/mol).

Conformational changes to 1,4-β-D-glucan cellobiohydrolase I (CBHI) in response to its binding with p-nitrophenyl β-D-cellobioside (PNPC) were analyzed by second-derivative fluorescence spectrometry at the saturation binding point. Irreversible changes to the configuration of PNPC during the course of the binding process were characterized by UV spectral analysis. Isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) was used to determine the stoichiometry of binding (i.e. the number of molar binding sites) of PNPC to CBHI. Two points on the surface of the CBHI molecule interact with PNPC, and irreversible changes to the configuration of PNPC occur during its conversion to p-nitrophenyl (PNP). The ITC studies demonstrated that the binding of PNPC to CBHI is an irreversible process, in which heat is released, but where there is no reversible equilibrium between PNPC-CBHI and CBHI and PNPC. On the other hand, PNP and cellobiose need to be released from the PNPC-CBHI complex to facilitate the repeated binding of new PNPC molecules to the renewable CBHI molecules. Therefore, we speculate that the energy, which powers the configurational change of PNPC as it is converted to PNP, is generated from cyclic changes in the conformation of CBHI during the binding/de-sorption process. These new insights may provide a basis for a better understanding of the binding mechanism in enzyme-substrate interactions.

The author obtains a Weierstrass representation for surfaces with prescribed normal Gauss map and Gauss curvature in H3. A differential equation about the hyperbolic Gauss map is also obtained, which characterizes the relation among the hyperbolic Gauss map, the normal Gauss map and Gauss curvature. The author discusses the harmonicity of the normal Gauss map and the hyperbolic Gauss map from surface with constant Gauss curvature in H3 to S2 with certain altered conformal ***, the author considers the surface whose normal Gauss map is conformal and derives a completely nonlinear differential equation of second order which graph must satisfy.

An Overlapping Structured P2P for REIK Overlay Network

REIK is based on a ring which embedded an inverse Kautz digraph, to enable multi-path P2P routing. It has the constant degree and the logarithmic diameter DHT scheme with constant congestion and Byzantine fault tolerance. However, REIK did not consider the interconnection of many independent smaller networks. In this paper, we propose a new approach to build overlay network, OLS-REIK which is an overlapping structured P2P for REIK overlay network. It is a more ?exible interconnecting different REIK network. Peers can belong to several rings, allowing this interconnection. By connecting smaller structured overlay networks in an unstructured way, it provides a cost effective alternative to hierarchical structured P2P systems requiring costly merging. Routing of lookup messages is performed as in REIK within one ring, but a peer belonging to several rings forwards the request to the different rings it belongs to. Furthermore a small number of across point is enough to ensure a high exhaustiveness level.

The research of land use and land cover (LUCC) is an important aspect in the global change research. The goal of this study is to find methods of extraction of LUCC’s change outlined and change type from remotely sensed data. Take the country of Fengxian in Shanghai as an example, it was supposed two steps to finish extraction of LUCC information: the first step was to use different methods, which is used to outline change areas; the second step include methods of false composing of two-temporal and threshold value. Through combining two methods, a model rule is built and the LUCC product is obtained, four kinds of change type within the study area are given, and the results are obvious. Finally, the results support the application of the high resolution image and tasseled cap composition (greenness and wetness) in the specific regional too.
