Self-assembly of peptides into fibrils and other morphologies has attracted much attention inmany fields,especially in nanofabrication,pathology and *** this paper,self-assembly of GAV-9peptide in organic solvents,ethanol and acetone,was investigated using atomic force microscopy(AFM)and attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(ATR-FTIR).The results indicatedthat GAV-9 self-assembled into various nanostructures in both solvents after deposited and evaporated *** with β-sheet conformation were observed in both solvents when the peptide concentrationwas higher than 280 μ***,ordered fibrils with β-sheet conformation were formed in ethanol,butnot in acetone,with a peptide concentration ranging from 7 μM to 28 μ*** attribute the formation ofvarious nanostructures to the different physicochemical properties of the polar organic solvents on the self-assembly of GAV-9 peptide.

To determine the relative pose between an object and a single camera using 2D-to-3D point correspondences, a kind of iterative methods based on inverse projection ray approach is proposed. An iterative algorithm which is divided into depth recovery stage and absolute orientation stage is also proposed. In the first stage, the optimal translation vector is first computed in terms of rotation matrix via least square method, then the depths of the observed points are estimated by projecting the estimated point orthogonally to the inverse projection ray defined by the image point, and finally 3D points are reconstructed using the estimated depths from previous step. In the second stage, the optimal rotation matrix is estimated by applying Umeyama algorithm to fitting of the 3D model points and 3D estimated points. The above two stages are repeated until the result converges. The global convergence of the two-stage iterative algorithm is proven based on the global convergence theorem. Finally, a spacecraft docking application is implemented to test the effectiveness and convergence of the proposed algorithm by mathematical simulation and physical simulation.

β-Ga2O3: Cr single crystals were grown by floating zone technique. Absorption spectra and fluorescence spectra were measured at room temperature. The values of field splitting parameter Dq and Racah parameter B were obtained by the peak values of absorption spectra. The value 10Dq/B=23.14 manifests that in β-Ga2O3 crystals Cr3+ ions are influenced by low energy crystal field. After high temperature annealing in air, the Cr3+ intrinsic emission was enhanced and the green lumines-cence disappeared. The strong and broad 691 nm emission was obtained at 420 nm excitation due to the electron transition occurred from 4T2 to 4A2. The studies manifest that the β-Ga2O3 crystals have the potential application for tunable laser.

Chemotherapy is one of the major treatments of malignant carcinomas. However,its efficiency is affected by both intrinsic and acquired resistance to anticancer drugs. The cellular mechanisms of drug resistance include the overexpression of energy-dependent transporters that eject anticancer drugs from cells such as p-glycoprotein and multidrug resistance related protein (MRP),the mutation of drug targets,the activation of DNA repair pathways,the defects in cellular death pathways and so on. The genetic and epigenetic changes of these genes can lead to cancer drug resistance. Among these mechanisms,microRNAs (miRNAs) which are critical and essential for many important processes such as development,differentiation,and even carcinogenesis have been reported to regulate the chemosen-sitivity of tumor cells. In this paper we briefly review the relationship between miRNA and cancer drug resistance.

Design and Preparation of Bone Tissue Engineering Scaffolds with Porous Controllable Structure

A novel method of designing and preparing bone tissue engineering scaffolds with controllable porous structure of both macro channels and micro pores was proposed. The CAD software UG NX3.0 was used to design the macro channels＇ shape, size and distribution. By integrating rapid prototyping and traditional porogen technique, the macro channels and micro pores were formed respectively. The size, shape and quantity of micro pores were controlled by porogen particulates. The sintered β-TCP porous scaffolds possessed connective macro channels of approximately 500 μm and micro pores of 200-400 μm. The porosity and connectivity of micro pores became higher with the increase of porogen ratio, while the mechanical properties weakened. The average porosity and compressive strength offl-TCP scaffolds prepared with porogen ratio of 60wt% were 78.12% and 0.2983 MPa, respectively. The cells＇ adhesion ratio of scaffolds was 67.43%. The ALP activity, OCN content and cells micro morphology indicated that cells grew and proliferated well on the scaffolds.

Aim:Extrapyramidal syndrome (EPS) is most commonly affected by typical antip-sychotic drugs that have a high affinity with the D2 ***,manyresearch groups have reported on the positive relationship between the geneticvariations in the DRD2 gene and the therapeutic response in schizophrenia pa-tients as a result of the role of variations in the receptor in modulating *** this study,we evaluate the role DRD2 plays in chlorpromazine-induced EPS in schizophrenic ***:We identified seven SNP(singlenucleotide polymorphism) (-141Cins>del,TaqIB,TaqID,Ser311Cys,rs6275,rs6277and TaqIA) in the DRD2 gene in 146 schizophrenic inpatients (59 with EPS and 87without EPS according to the Simpson-Angus Scale) treated with chlorpromazineafter 8 *** alleles of all loci were determined by PCR (polymerase chainreaction).Results:Polymorphisms TaqlD,Ser311Cys and rs6277 were not poly-morphic in the population recruited in the present *** statistical signifi-cance was found in the allele distribution of-141Cins>del,TaqIB,rs6275 andTaqIA or in the estimated haplotypes (constituted by TaqIB,rs6275 and TaqIA) inlinkage disequilibrium between the two ***:Our results did notlend strong support to the view that the genetic variation of the DRD2 gene playsa major role in the individually variable adverse effect induced by chlorpromazine,at least in Chinese patients with *** results confirmed a previousstudy on the relationship between DRD2 and EPS in Caucasians.

The lymph circulation plays an important role in interstitial fluid balance, protein transport, and immune system. However, its mechanism is poorly understood, and associated pathologies are mostly untreatable. By following Sungawa＇s method of discussing the heart output, a hemodynamic model of lymph circulation was set up. The model was used to demonstrate how the lymphatic fluid formation, investigate the relationship between the lymph flow rate QL and physiological parameters, and explore how local massage influences QL Computer simulation results show that QL is linearly proportional to the interstitial fluid pressure P~, which is similar to experimental observations. Comparing the simulated value of QL during the massage of different frequency with the experimental data from Ikomi shows that they are identical, which indicates that the presented model is rational to explain the mechanism of massage treatment in traditional Chinese medicine （TCM）.

This paper analyses the integration modes of the virtual product development with KBE. The system architecture of virtual product development with KBE has been built and the key technique has been studied to support the system. Knowledge driven method has been put forward based on the traditional theory as a new method of virtual product development. An applied case is presented by taking moving cone assembly as an example to illustrate the process of knowledge driven method in detail. This concludes virtual product development integrated with KBE is feasible to raise the design efficiency and promote the sharing of information and knowledge.
