Human papillomavirus 58 (HPV58) is one type of HPV with high risk of causing cervical cancer. Unusually high prevalence of HPV58 has been reported in Asia, Africa and some other areas. However, due to the scattered distribution of global data, in addition to the lack of data of some HPV58 high-incidence nations and regions, like china's Mainland, a comprehensive analysis of the global geographical distribution of HPV58 remains blank so far. In this study, HPV58 from the human cervical cancer tissue was detected in china's Mainland, and 14 new HPV58-E6/L1 gene sequences were obtained. Moreover, phylogeographic analysis has been conducted combining the HPV58 sequences that have been deposited in GenBank since 1985. The study result shows that the sequences detected from the shanghai, Jiangsu and Sichuan areas are homologous with those found in the past from Hong Kong and Xi'an, china, as well as Japan and other Southeast Asian areas. Furthermore, Western Africa is considered to be the "root" source of the HPV58 variant, while china's Mainland and Southeast Asia are "transit points" and the new sources of HPV58 after receiving the isolates from the "root" source; like HPV16 and HPV18, the HPV58 might also be one of the major HPV types associated with the development and spread of cervical cancer.

TNF recepter-55 is the main mediator of TNF-induced apoptosis. TNF receptor-75-dependent induction or enhancement of cytotoxicity has been explained by intracellular signaling, 'ligand passing' , or induction of endogenous TNF. To study the function of human TNF receptor-75 (hTR75) and the interaction between human TNF receptor-55 (hTR55) and hTR75 in hTNFa-induced cytotoxicity, HEp-2 cells were transfected with bicistronic expression vector of hTR75 and its deletion mutants genes. hTNFa-induced cytotoxicity was determined by crystal violet colorimetric method. The expression of hTR75 and its deletion mutants in HEp-2 cells was demonstrated by RT-PCR and indirect ELISA. We found that the overexpressed hTR75 could significantly increase the susceptibility of HEp-2 cells to hTNFa which especially required TRAF2 binding site. hTR75 could not only mediate partial hTNFa-induced cytotoxicity independently but also fulfill an accessory role in enhancing or synergizing hTR55-mediated cytotoxicity

Perfluorosulfonic acid/Polysulfone(PFSA/PSf) hollow fiber composite membranes have been prepared by dip-coating method using PSf ultrafiltration(UF) membrane as substrate with recovered *** composite membranes were applied to the pervaporation separation of 95% ethanol(EtOH)/H2O *** images show that the thickness of the PFSA skin layer of the composite membranes is about 2 μm,much thinner than those of other PFSA composite membranes revealed in the *** of annealing temperature,coating solution concentration and counter-ions of PFSA on the pervaporation performances of the composite membranes were *** total flux decreases and separation factor increases with the increase of annealing *** highest permeation flux of 3230 g m-2 h-1 and a separation factor of 5.4 is obtained for the composite membrane annealed at 80°*** lowest permeation flux of 396 g m-2 h-1 and a separation factor of 27.7 is obtained for the composite membrane annealed at 160°*** permeation performances of the PFSA/PSf composite membrane are evidently influenced by the counter-ions of *** flux sequence of the PFSA/PSf composite membranes with different counter-ions is H+>Li+>Ca2+>Mg2+>Na+>K+>Ba2+>Fe3+>Al3+,and the separation factor sequence is H+2+2+2+Na+>K+.There are very little variations of △Eapp values between the composite membranes with three divalent counterions(Mg2+,Ca2+ and Ba2+),and the △Eapp values of the composite membranes with two trivalent counterions(Fe3+ and Al3+) are relatively high.

Interleaving is an efficient measure to resolve the bursty errors in a block fading multiple-inputs multiple-outputs (MIMO) system. For the metrics of network layer, interleaving exerts two conflicting effects on the ultimate delay performance. Specifically, interleaving can advantageously reduce data transmit time. On the other hand, it comes at a cost, entailing an undesired delay penalty resulting from interleaving depth. Here, we exploit a unified model to accommodate these two conflicting effects, and derive the average waiting time in block fading MIMO systems with dynamic-depth interleaving. Such a unified model is developed with a combined method of both information theory and queueing theory. Therefore, the model is capable of characterizing the randomness of data arrival process, hence the nature of dynamic-depth interleaving. The methodology and the results are applicable to designing, evaluating, and tuning the practical interleaving systems.

Schistosomes cause schistosomiasis disease which severely threatens human health. Little is known about the functions of EF-hand domain containing schistosomes tegument proteins other than as an-tigens. More possible functions of these tegument proteins were investigated with in silico analyses including protein-protein functional interaction,site-specific variation and glycosylation modification. The analysis results suggested that schistosomes could actively modulate host immune responses for its own favor through functional interactions with host proteins with immunomodulatory function,and passively regulate host immune responses through sequence variation under positive selection and glycosylating the recognition sites of host immune attack. In addition,the analysis of the C-terminal domain of these tegument proteins indicated that they could assist schistosomes in escaping host immune attacks through inhibiting chemotaxis and non-complement fixing antibody (IgG4) responses. In summary,our results suggested that these tegument antigen proteins could assist schistosomes in escaping and modulating host immune responses for self-protection during the process of host-para-site interaction.

Raman spectra of gallium phosphide （GAP） nanosolids （unheated and heat-treated at 598 and 723 K, respectively） were investigated. It was observed that both the longitudinal optical mode （LO） and the transverse optical mode （TO） displayed an asymmetry on the low-wavenumber side. The scattering bands were fitted to a sum of four Lorentzians which were assigned to the LO mode, surface phonon mode, TO mode, and a combination of Ga-O-P symmetric bending and sum band formed from the X-point TA ＋ LA phonons, respectively. Analysis of the characteristic of surface phonon mode revealed that the surface phonon peak of the GaP nanosolids could be confirmed. In the infrared spectrum of the GaP nanoparticles, we observed the bands on account of symmetric stretching and bending of PO2, as well as stretching of Ga-O The Raman scattering intensity arising from the Ga-O-P linkages increased as increasing the heat-treatment temperature.

The dependences of the power loss per cycle on frequency f and amplitude flux density Bm have been investigated for the three main original magnetic states in five sorts of Fe-based nanocrystalline soft magnetic alloys in the ranges of 10 Hz2 and f. The behavior of Pexc/f vs f being equivalent to P/f vs f clearly exhibits nonlinearity in the range not more than about 120 Hz, whereas the behavior of P/f vs f roughly shows linearity in the range far above 100 Hz and not more than 1000 Hz. In the range up to 1000 Hz, Physt is dominant in the original high permeability state and the state of low residual flux density, whereas Pexc in the state of high residual flux density is dominant in the wider range above about 100 Hz. The framework of the statistical theory of power loss has been used for representing the behavior of Pexc/f vs f. It has been found that the number n of the simultaneously active 'Magnetic Objects' linearly varies as n = n0 + Hexc/H0 as a function of the dynamic field Hexc in the range below about 120 Hz, whereas n approximately follows a law of the form n = n0 + (Hexc/H0)^m with 1 2 in the range far above 100 Hz and not more than 1000 Hz. The values of the field HO in principle related to the microstructure and the domain structure have been calculated for the three states.

Genes present in virulent bacterial strains but absent in avirulent close relatives can be of great biologic and clinical interest. This project aimed to identify strain specific DNA sequences of Leptospira interrogans serovar lai, which is absent in the saprophytic L. biflexa serovar monvalerio, via suppression subtractive hybridization with the former as the tester while the latter as the driver. The mixture of PCR amplified DNA fragments from two subtractive hybridization experiments were cloned into pMD18-T vector and the positive clones were identified by dot blotting against the chromosome DNA of the two strains individually. After DNA sequencing and analysis, the distribution of these genomic fragment sequences in a panel of pathogenic and nonpathogenic leptospires was investigated employing dot blot analysis. Among the 188 positive clones randomly chosen, 24 contained the tester strain specific genomic regions, of which, 5 were non-coding fragments while the others contained 23 distinct protein coding sequences. Besides 9 genes encoding functional proteins, 12 genes encode unknown proteins and the rest two genes encode proteins with recognizable domain structures, one for a putative leucine-rich repeats (LRR) family protein while the other as an outer-membrane protein. Our experiment results indicated that suppression subtractive hybridiza- tion is effective for screening specific DNA sequences between two leptospiral strains, and some of these sequences might be responsible for virulence determination. Further analysis of these DNA sequences will provide important information on the pathogenesis of Leptospira.

Performance and mechanism study for low-temperature SCR of NO with propylene in excess oxygen over Pt/TiO_2 catalyst

A 0.5 wt.% Pt/TiO2 catalyst was prepared and used for the low-temperature selective catalytic reduction （SCR） of NO with C3H6 in the presence of excess oxygen. The effects of Pt loading and 02 concentration on Pt/TiO2 catalytic performance for low-temperature SCR were investigated. It was found that optimal Pt loading was 0.5 wt.% and excess 02 favored low-temperature SCR of NOx. The mechanism of low-temperature SCR of NO with C3H6 was investigated with respect to the behavior of adsorbed species over Pt/TiO2 at 150~C using in situ DRIFTS. The results indicated that surface nitrosyl species （Pt~＋-NO and Ti3＋-NO） and pt2＋-CO are main reaction intermediates during the interactions of NO, C3H6 and 02. A simplified NO decomposition mechanism for the low-temperature SCR of NO with C3H6 was proposed.
