Despite considerable attention paid to Chaohu Lake in china, the dynamics of bacterioplankton community composition (BCC) on spatial and seasonal scales are poorly *** this study, water samples were collected from autumn 2006 to summer 2007 at five positions in Chaohu Lake with difierent trophic *** of these samples was determined by both the PCR amplification of the 16S rDNA gene and the denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE).The abundance and diversity of bacterioplankton communities at difierent sampling positions showed similar seasonal *** BCCs in the samples varied substantially, and the pattern of changes indicated that the seasonal difierence might have a significant impact on the BCC’s structure in the *** correspondence anal-ysis (CCA) on the DGGE patterns and physicochemical parameters indicated that the temperature and the levels of 5-d biochemical O2 demand (BOD5), NH3-N, CODMn, total nitrogen, total phosphorous, and dissolved oxygen significantly infiuenced the BCC, and four of the seven variables were related to the level of *** results indicate that eutrophic status and season are the most infiu-ential factors in determining BCC in Chaohu Lake.

This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behavior of the two-dimensional dissipative quasigeostrophic *** on the spectral decomposition of the Laplacian operator and iterative techniques,we obtain improved L2 decay rates of weak solutions and derive more explicit upper bounds of higher order derivatives of *** also prove the asymptotic stability of the subcritical quasi-geostrophic equation under large initial and external perturbations.

Effects of Nitrogen Doping on Microstructures and Irradiation Resistance of Ti-Zr-Nb-V-Mo Refractory High-Entropy Alloy

Interstitial strengthening with nitrogen(N)is one of the effective ways to improve the mechanical properties of HEAs,but the effects of N on the microstructures and mechanical properties of the irradiated HEAs have not been studied ***,the microstructures and mechanical properties of N-free and N-doped Ti_(2)ZrNbV_(0.5)Mo_(0.2)HEAs before and after He irradiation were *** results showed that the solid solution strengthening caused by interstitial N improved the yield strength at room temperature and 1023 K without significantly reducing plasticity.N doping significantly promoted the growth,aggregation and wider spatial distribution of He bubbles by enhancing the mobility of He atoms/He-vacancy complexes,with the average size of He bubbles increasing from 10.4 nm in N-free HEA to 31.0 nm in N-doped *** addition,N-doped HEA showed a much higher irradiation hardness increment and hardening fraction than N-free *** to conventional materials doped with N,the introduction of N into Ti_(2)ZrNbV_(0.5)Mo_(0.2)HEA had adverse effects on its resistance to He bubble growth and irradiation *** results of this study indicated that N doping may not improve the irradiation resistance of HEAs.

Characteristics of N Mineralization in Urban Soils of hefei,East china

Nitrogen cycling has been poorly characterized in urban *** in-situ buried bag incubation technique was used to quantify net rates of N mineralization and nitrification in soils of two urban sites,a street greening belt and a university campus,and a suburban site,a forest park,in hefei,East *** average concentration of extractable NO 3 in the surface soil (0-10 cm) was significantly higher at the urban sites than the suburban park site,whereas extractable NH + 4 concentration was significantly higher at the suburban park site than the urban *** forest park soil had greater potential N mineralization (148.1 μg N cm 3) than the soils from the campus (138.3 μg N cm 3) and street (99.8 μg N cm 3).The net mineralization rates varied between 1.63 and 2.69 μg N cm 3 d 1 and net nitrification rates between 0.82 and 1.02 μg N cm 3 d 1 at the suburban forest park site,but the rates varied from 1.27 to 2.41 μg N cm 3 d 1 and from 1.07 to 1.49 μg N cm 3 d 1,respectively,at the urban campus *** net mineralization and nitrification rates were lower during dry *** from regression analysis indicated that net N mineralization was significantly and positively correlated with soil moisture and soil C/N ratio,and was negatively correlated with soil *** nitrification was,however,significantly and negatively correlated with soil moisture and soil C/N ratio,and was positively correlated with soil *** relative nitrification was 0.763,indicating the dominance of nitrate cycling relative to ammonium cycling at the urban *** urban soils had the great potential for N losses compared to the suburban soils.

Study on transmittance spectra of ITO thin films by ellipsometric method

ITO films with thicknesses (134+8) nm, grown on glass substrates by sputtering method, were post-annealed at the temperatures of 100, 200, 300 and 400°C for 1 h, respectively. The as-deposited ITO film was amorphous, but crystallized with annealing at elevated temperatures, as demonstrated by X-ray diffraction. The transmittance spectra of all samples were obtained and subsequently simulated by means of spectroscopic ellipsometry. The optical constants n and k of the films were extracted. With the annealing temperature increasing, the optical constants n and k of the films firstly decreased then increased in the whole investigated wavelength range. The optical band gaps of all films were evaluated and they varied between 3.74 and 3.93 eV.

TLR3 Ligand-Induced Accumulation of Activated Splenic Natural Killer Cells into Liver

It has been revealed that poly I：C is a potent stimulator for NK cells, which can induce NK cell rapid activation and preferential accumulation into liver. However, the process mediating the influx of NK cells remains obscure. In this study, we found that poly I：C administration increased the portion and absolute number of NK cells in liver, but largely decreased those in spleen. There were no obvious changes of these lymphocytes in other immune organs. The results from splenic adoptive transfer and splenectomy showed that the recruited spleen NK cells contributed to the accumulation of NK cells in liver, and this process was regulated by the production of chemokines and the presence of T cells. This investigation will help to understand the enhanced immune cell recruitment in liver upon viral infection. Cellular ＆ Molecular Immunology. 2005;2（6）：449-453.

Syntheses of amphiphilic biodegradable copolymers of poly(ethyl ethylene phosphate) and poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) for drug delivery

Biodegradable and amphiphilic triblock copolymers poly(ethyl ethylene phosphate)-poly(3-hydroxybutyrate)-poly(ethyl ethylene phosphate) (PEEP-b-PHB-b-PEEP) have been successfully synthesized through ring-opening polymerization. The structures are confirmed by gel permeation chromatography and NMR analyses. Crystallization investigated by X-ray diffraction reveals that the block copolymer with higher content of poly(ethyl ethylene phosphate) (PEEP) is more amorphous, showing decreased crystallizability. The obtained copolymers self-assemble into biodegradable nanoparticles with a coreshell micellar structure in aqueous solution, verified by the probe-based fluorescence measurements and transmission electronic microscopy (TEM) observation. The hydrophobic poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) block serves as the core of the micelles and the micelles are stabilized by the hydrophilic PEEP block. The size and size distribution are related to the compositions of the copolymers. Paclitaxel (PTX) has been encapsulated into the micelles as a model drug and a sustained drug release from the micelles is observed. MTT assay also demonstrates that the block copolymers are biocompatible, rendering these copolymers attractive for drug delivery.
