Case studies on mesoscale structures of heavy rainfall system in the Yangtze River generated by Meiyu front

A heavy rainfall system was observed over the Yangtze River during Meiyu season by using dual-Doppler radar systems in the field experiment conducted by the project of National Fundamental Research Planning “Research on formation mechanism and the prediction theory of hazardous weather over china”. The three-dimensional mesoscale kinematic structure and process of a heavy rain on 22 and 23 July, 2002 are investigated by using the radial velocity and dual-Doppler radar technique. The results show that a southwest-northeast oriented rain band with the length of about 1000 km involves numbers of meso-β or meso-γ-scale convective cells with the size of 20―50 km. The heavy rain band in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River ex-ists in a low-level wind shear. The interaction between southwest low-level jet on the southern side of wind shear and east wind on the northern side formed the updraft. The wind disturbance, wind shear and convergence generate the convective action. The new cell developed in right rear flank of rain band and moved to the southwest wind area, where the vapor is abundant. This kind of echo can last a long time and developed well. The strong convective echoes are often ac-companied by the meso-γ-scale vortex and convergence.

The analyses of power spectra and correlation coefficients have shown that there exists a distinct quasi-3.5 -year periodicity in the fluctuations of rainfall and temperature over most parts of china, which is closely related to the oscillation of sea surface temperature in the equatorial Pacific. The structures of correlations between El Nino and precipitation and temperature fields are concretely described, and the causes for some striking responses are also explored.

The Annual Report on Cardiovascular Health and Diseases in china(2022)intricate landscape of cardiovascular health in *** is the third section of the report with a specific focus on community-based prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases(CVD).This section of the report underscores the importance of initiatives outlined in the"Healthy china 2030 Plan,"emphasizing the comprehensive prevention and control strategy for chronic diseases.A key aspect of this plan involves the establishment of national demonstration areas aimed at comprehensive prevention and control of chronic *** 2020,488 such areas had been set up across china,surpassing the initial target and covering a significant proportion of counties and *** report highlights the successful implementation of these strategies in Lishan district,Anshan city,where demonstration areas for comprehensive prevention and control of chronic diseases were launched in *** the course of seven years,the number of healthy units increased substantially,leading to improvements in managing risk factors for CVD among *** reductions in prevalence rates of overweight,obesity,smoking,passive smoking,and drinking were observed,along with the development of healthier behaviors among ***,Qiaokou district in Wuhan City,designated as a national demonstration area in 2014,implemented comprehensive public health promotion ***,special clinics for hypertension intervention were established,contributing to an increase in self-reported rates of hypertension,a slight decrease in prevalence,and a remarkable improvement in the control rate among treated ***,these efforts underscore the effectiveness of community-based approaches in driving positive health outcomes and advancing the comprehensive prevention and control of chronic diseases,particularly cardiovascular diseases,in china.

Hypertension prevalence has steadily increased in china,with efforts to control it facing challenges in achieving optimal rates, especially in rural areas. Interventions like salt substitutes and intensive blood pressure control show promise but need improvement. Abnormal lipid levels, indicative of dyslipidemia,have risen significantly, posing a risk for cardiovascular diseases. Despite efforts, many patients struggle to achieve target lipid levels, necessitating improved treatment strategies. Both type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus affect millions of adults in china,with long-term complications adding to the disease burden. Early intervention and effective management are crucial to mitigate its impact. Prevalent among older adults, chronic kidney disease is associated with diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases, necessitating comprehensive management approaches. The prevalence of metabolic syndrome, characterized by a cluster of risk factors, has increased in both adults and adolescents, calling for lifestyle modifications and public health interventions. Ambient and household air pollution remain significant environmental risk factors, despite some improvements in air quality. Continued efforts to reduce emissions are essential for mitigating associated health risks. Addressing these risk factors requires a multifaceted approach, including public health initiatives, policy interventions, and individual-level strategies to promote healthy lifestyles and reduce environmental exposures. The phase relationships of the complex multi-component systems in the liquid-phase oxidization and separation process related with the chromate cleaner production are investigated theoretically and *** phase diagram of main system Fe- Cr2O4-KOH-O2of oxidization process and the relationship of its standard Gibbs free energy change with temperature are calculated.A se- ries of phase diagrams of the separation process at different temperatures,such as K（Na）OH-K（Na）2CrO4-H2O,KOH-KAlO2-H2O, K（Na）OH-K（Na）2CO3-H2O,K（Na）OH-K（Na）HCO3-H2O and K（Na）HCO3-K（Na）2CrO4-H2O have also been *** ex- periments are carried out to verify the calculated *** results showed that the sub-molten salt media are suitable for the oxidization and separation processes;FeCr2O4can be oxidized across a wide range of temperature;K（Na）2CrO4can be separated from K（Na）AlO2system at appropriate temperature and proper concentration;the crystallization of carbonate is easier than that of K（Na）2CrO4.

This paper is concerned with the algorithm of the supply chain network equilibrium model and its equivalent supernetwork based traffic network equilibrium model with elastic demands. Both models are further written as nonlinear complementarity problems. Semismooth least squares reformulations of the complementarity problems are presented and their convergence properties are investigated. Considering the drawbacks of Quasi-Newton method (using the Fischer-Burmeister function), a semi-smooth Levenberg-Marquardt-type method is proposed to solve the problems. Numerical examples show that the Levenberg-Marquardt-type method can solve the supply chain network equilibrium model and its equivalent supernetwork based traffic network equilibrium model significantly, and is more efficient than the Quasi Newton method and the modified projection method. Furthermore, the Levenberg-Marquardt-type method with the equivalent supernetwork based complementarity formulation can be implemented faster than with the supply chain network equilibrium complementarity formulation.
