Spectral response of rice(Oryza sativa L.) leaves to Fe^(2+) stress

In the management of lake eutrophication,the regulation effect of Fe is considered,in addition to the controlling nitrogen-and phosphorus *** on the "Fe hypothesis",this paper tentatively applied plant spectral response to the remote sensing early-warning mechanism of lake eutrophication.A laboratory water culture experiment with rice(Oryza sativa L.) was conducted to study Fe uptake by plants and the chlorophyll concentration and visible-near infrared spectrum of vegetable leaves as well as their interrelations under Fe2+ *** spectral indices,i.e.,A1(integral value of the changes of spectral reflectivity in the range 460―670 nm under Fe2+ stress),A2(integral value of the changes of spectral reflectivity in the range of 760―1000 nm under Fe2+ stress) and S(blue-shift range of red edge curve under Fe2+ stress),were used to establish quantitative models about the relationships between the rice leaf spectrum and Fe2+ *** the increase of Fe2+ in a culture solution,the Fe content in rice plants increased,while the chlorophyll concentration in vegetative leaves *** spectral reflectivity of vegetable leaves increased in the visible light band but decreased in the near infrared band,and the blue-shift range of the red edge curve *** indices A1,A2 and S all had significant correlations with the Fe content in rice leaves,the correlation coefficient being respectively 0.951(P 2 > 0.96) and predict the Fe level in rice leaves.

Susceptibility Assessment of Landslides Caused by the Wenchuan Earthquake Using a Logistic Regression Model

The Wenchuan earthquake on May 12,2008 caused numerous collapses,landslides,barrier lakes,and debris *** susceptibility mapping is important for evaluation of environmental capacity and also as a guide for post-earthquake *** this paper,a logistic regression model was developed within the framework of GIS to map landslide *** County,a heavily affected area,was selected for the *** of landslides was prepared by interpretation of multi-temporal and multi-resolution remote sensing images(ADS40 aerial imagery,SPOT5 imagery and TM imagery,etc.) and field *** Certainly Factor method was used to find the influencial factors,indicating that lithologic groups,distance from major faults,slope angle,profile curvature,and altitude are the dominant factors influencing *** weight of each factor was determined using a binomial logistic regression *** susceptibility mapping was based on spatial overlay analysis and divided into five *** faults have the most significant impact,and landslides will occur most likely in areas near the *** of the area has a high or very high susceptibility,located in the northeast,south and southwest,including 65.3% of all landslides coincident with the *** susceptibility map can reveal the likelihood of future failures,and it will be useful for planners during the rebuilding process and for future zoning issues.

Transient species and its properties of melatonin

The photo-physical and photo-chemical properties of melatonin (ML) werestudied by 266 nm laser flash photolysis (LFP). ML undergoes photo-ionization to produce radicalcation of ML (ML^(·+))and hydrated electrons (e_(aq)^-), while excited triplet state ~3ML~* is alsoformed during photolysis. The oxidation via one electron transfer from ML to SO_4^(·+) and thetriplet state of riboflavin (~3RF~*) has been also investigated and the rate constants for theprocess have been determined to be 8.0x10^9 and 1.4x10^9 L·mol^(-1)·s^(-1) respectively. Theradical cation of 2,2''-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)(ABTS^(·+)) scavengingcapacities of melatonin and other antioxidants are compared in this paper.

In this paper we consider a two-machine CONWIP system. Firstly, we mathematically model the system as a QBD process. By using the matrix geometric solution technique, we obtain the equilibrium conditions of the system. Next, we derive the stationary probability distribution of the process. Finally, we give some important performance measures of the system.

Meso-scale structures existing in the form of particle-rich clusters, streamers or strands in circulating fluidized beds, and of ascending bubble plumes and descending liquid-rich vortices in bubble columns and slurry-bed reactors, as commonly observed, have played an important role in the macro-scale behavior of particle-fluid systems. These meso-scale structures span a wide range of length and time scales, and their origin, evolution and influence are still far from being well understood.

Blind numbers of evaluation indices about groundwater resources carrying capacity are defined from the concomitancy of randomness, fuzziness, grey property and unascertainment of groundwater system. Based on fuzzy theory, a comprehensive evaluation model on groundwater resources carrying capacity is constructed with blind information. Then a risk assessment model of surcharge about groundwater resources carrying capacity is established on blind reliability theory. The probable value ＂＊＂ matrix of fuzzy membership degree about carrying capacity corresponding to each judgment level can be obtained with the aid of blind algorithm as well as the subjective reliability ＂×＂ matrix. And then a graph of ＂groundwater carrying capacity v.s. accumulative reliability＂ can be gained Based on the graph, fuzzy membership degree of groundwater resources carrying capacity to each judgment level under different risk probability can be got. Thus, a comparatively reasonable judgment to groundwater resources carrying capacity might be obtained, with comprehensive analysis to the state of society, economy technology and ecology.

The upper mantle structure of the Tibetan Plateau and its implication for the continent-continent collision

The upper mantle structures of Himalayas-Tibet have been obtained from the mi-gration of receiver functions of the teleseismic events recorded by INDEPTH-III. The result of migration imaging shows a dipping interface subducting northward from the depth of 100 km to the 410-km discontinuity underneath southern Tibet. It indicates that the lithospheric mantle of the Indian continent had been detached from the crust and deeply subducted to the upper mantle of Eurasia during the Indo-Eurasian collision. This kind of continent-continent collision process is fundamentally different from the oceanic collision.

Hydrogen Reduction:A Novel Method of Synthesizing Ultra-fine Chromic Oxide Powder

The ultra-fine chromic oxide powder was prepared by a novel gas-solid reduction ***2CrO4 was firstly reduced with hydrogen at 400-600 ℃.The obtained reduction products,mainly the mixture of NaCrO2 and sodium hydroxide（NaOH）,were converted into chromic oxide through hydrolysis followed by *** obtained chromic oxide product was characterized by powder X-ray diffraction（XRD） and *** results show that the hydrolysis process of sodium chromite is the key step and lower reduction temperature helps intensify the hydrolysis process.
