Objective:To study the chemical.constituents in l.aves of Cebera manghas Methods Chemical.constituents were isol.ted by using various col.mn chromatography and the structures were el.cidated on basis of physicochemical.constants and spectral.data *** Nine compounds were obtained and determined to be p-hydroxybenzal.ehyde(1),benzamide(2), n-hexadecane acid monogl.ceride(3),l.l.ol.de(4),β-sitosterol.5),cerberin(6),neriifol.n(7), cerl.aside A(8),daucosterol.9).Concl.sion Compounds 1～4 were obtained from this genus for the first time.

This study aimed to devel.p a cel. cul.ure model.of Huntington disease and observe the effect of sodium butyrate on this cel. cul.ure *** 1 of both a wil. type and a mutant IT15 gene from the genomic DNA of a heal.hy adul. and a patient with Hunt- ington disease was ampl.fied and cl.ned into the eukaryotic expression vector *** neurobl.stoma SH-SY5Y cel.s were tran- sientl. transfected with these recombinant pl.smids in the absence and presence of sodium butyrate(0.1,0.2,0.5,1.0 mmol.l..The MTT assay was used to measure cel. *** resul.s indicated that the N-terminal.fragment of mutant huntingtin formed perinucl.ar and intranucl.ar aggregates and caused a decrease of SH-SY5Y cel. *** butyrate inhibited the decrease of SH-SY5Y cel. via- bil.ty caused by the N-terminal.fragment of mutant *** suggests that sodium butyrate has a protective effect on this cel. cul. ture model.of Huntington disease.

Objective To study the chemical.constituents in the stems and l.aves of Al.inia oxyphyl.a *** The chemical.constituents were isol.ted by using various col.mn chromatorgaphies and their structures were el.cidated on basis of physicochemical.constants and spectral.data *** Nine compounds were obtained and determined to be p-hydroxycinnamic acid(1),3,4-dihydroxybenzamide(2),β-sitosterol.3),tectochrysin(4), chrysin(5),izal.inin(6),pinocembrin(7).pinostrobin(8) and myristic acid(9).Concl.sion: Compounds 1,2,7 and 8 were obtained from this genus for the first time.

A high performance l.quid chromatography-l.near ion trap mass spectrometry method using isotope dil.tion technique has been devel.ped for the simul.aneous determination of 23 β2-agonists and 5 β-bl.ckers in animal.muscl. tissues. Pork and chicken muscl. sampl.s were acid hydrol.zed and extracted with 5% trichl.racetic acid in water, and then cl.aned up using MCX sol.d phase extraction (SPE) cartridge. Methanol.and 0.1% formic acid were used as mobil. phases for gradient el.tion. A Waters Atl.ntisT3 col.mn was used for separation. ESI positive ion scan mode was used with sel.ctive reaction monitoring. 9 β2-Agonists l.bel.d by the deuterium isotope were used as internal.standards for quantification. The l.near ranges of 23 β2-agonists and 5 β-bl.ckers were 5-200 μg/l. the coefficient of correl.tion was not l.ss than 0.995, and the l.mit of detection for each compound in the muscl. tissue was bel.w 0.2 μg/kg. The recoveries of each compound in the spiked sampl.s at three l.vel. 5, 10, 20 μg/kg were in the range of 47.3%-123.7%, and the rel.tive standard deviations were in the range of 3.2%-25.7%. The devel.ped method is sensitive and specific for the determination of β2-agonists and β-bl.ckers in pork and chicken muscl. sampl.s.

Prel.minary basic research and cl.nical.findings have demonstrated that el.ctroacupuncture ther- apy exhibits positive effects in amel.orating depression. However, most studies of the underl.ing mechanism are at the singl. gene l.vel. there are few reports regarding the mechanism at the whol.-genome l.vel. Using a rat genomic gene-chip, we profil.d hippocampal.gene expression changes in rats after el.ctroacupuncture therapy. El.ctroacupuncture therapy al.eviated depres- sion-rel.ted manifestations in the model.rats. Using gene-chip anal.sis, we demonstrated that el.ctroacupuncture at Baihui （DU20） and Yintang （EX-HN3） regul.tes the expression of 21 genes. Real.time PCR showed that the genes Vgf, l.f2, Trnp32, l.c500373, Hifl., Fol.l. Nrnb, and Rtn were upregul.ted or downregul.ted in depression and that their expression tended to nor- mal.ze after el.ctroacupuncture therapy. These resul.s indicate that el.ctroacupuncture at Baihui and Yintang modul.tes depression by regul.ting the expression of particul.r genes.

"Juemingzi", a source of traditional.Chinese herbal.medicine, has been demonstrated to pl.y a rol. in decreasing serum chol.sterol.concentration. In this study, a novel.protein, which has shown an in-hibitory effect on chol.sterol.biosynthesis, was isol.ted from Senna obtusifol.a l. seed by gel.fil.ration and ion exchange chromatography. The novel.protein’s mol.cul.r mass was 19.7 kD and its pI was 4.80. Both SDS-PAGE and isoel.ctric-focusing (IEF) reveal.d a singl. Coomassie bril.iant bl.e stained band, indicating that the novel.protein was a singl. peptide. The N-terminal.amino acid sequence of the pro-tein was IPYISASFPl.IEFl.SE, which had no simil.rity with any other protein sequences in the NCBI protein database. Circul.r dichroism (CD) signal. indicated that S. obtusifol.a seed protein contained 12.5% α-hel.x, 55.6% β-sheet, and 31.9% random coil.
