In the article 'Evolution Model of the Earth’s Limited Expanding' published in Volume 45 Number (4) of chinese Science Bulletin[1], the author suggests that the earth expands according to a law R(t) = R0+A(1 -exp(β(t-ts))) (remark: this formula was mistakenly printed as R(t) = R0 + Aexp(β(t-ts)) in the and formula (12. of the text of ref. [1]). According to ref. [1], the earth was formed 4.6 billion years ago. After 0.3 billion years from its birth (ts), it started expansion from an initial radius R0 of 4651 km, and may reach a final maximum radius of R0+A = 6511 km. In the 4.6 billion years history, the radius of the earch has increased by 1720 km, or the density decreased from 14200 km/m3 (2.57 times the present density) to 5520 kg/m3 within the latest 4.3 billion years.

During formation of the Tarim Basin, there repetitively happened seawater invasion for it was ever connected with wide Paleo-mediterranean Sea. At the same time, for the applica-tion of tectonic and paleoenvironmental condition, the basin deposits many sequences of thick strata of evaporites, especially in its two largest subbasins of Kuqa in the north and Shaqa in the southwest. Therefore, the western Tarim Basin has been considered to be a favorable location to prospect ancient sylvinite deposit. But it is unfortunate that the Br×103/Cl ratio, as a common geochemical index to uncover clues of sylvinite deposit, is almost invalid to indicate the stage of ancient brine condensation for very low content of bromine in salt rock samples (less than 10?6 commonly) in the western Tarim Basin evaporites. Fortunately, we noticed recently that the val-ues of chlorine isotope (δ 37Cl value) for salt rock samples follow some clear laws from place to place, which in the Shaqa subbasin, all δ 37Cl values of salt rock samples behaved negatively and on the contrary, they all surprisingly showed positive values in the Kuqa subbasin. Based on conclusions of previous research and referring to the ratios of Br×103/Cl for salt rock or brine samples, we proved that the chlorine isotope (δ 37Cl) could be used as an effective index to find ancient sylvinite deposit in those evaporites rock basin with low content of Br element back-ground, such as the Tarim Basin. Thus according to the new index of chlorine isotope, we con-clude that the concentration of ancient brines formed ancient salt rocks is much more concen-trated in the Shaqa subbasin than that in the Kuqa subbasin. In this paper,we use the result in[*** and ***,arXiv:astro-ph/0510709]to calculate thenon-Gaussianity of the racetrack models in[***-Pillado,et al.,JHEP 0411(2004)063;arXiv:hep-th/0406230]and[***-Pillado,et al.,arXiv:hep-th/060312.].The two models give different *** of themare ***,we find that,for multi-field inflationary models with the non-trivial metric of the field space,the condition of the slow-roll cannot guarantee small non-Gaussianities.

To decrease thermal stress during laser metal deposition shaping(LMDS)process,it is of great importance to learn the transient thermal stress distribution *** on the“element life and death”technique of finite element analy- sis(FEA),a three-dimensional multi-track and multi-layer numerical simulation model for LMDS is developed with ANSYS parametric design language(APDL)for the first time,in which long-edge parallel reciprocating scanning paths is introduced. Through the model,detailed simulations of thermal stress during whole metal cladding process are conducted,the generation and distribution regularities of thermal stress are also discussed in *** the same process parameters,the simulation results show good agreement with the features of samples which fabricated by LMDS.

The photodissociation/photoionization processes of chlorobromomethane (CH_2BrCl) induced by fem- tosecond laser pulses have been investigated using pump-probe scheme combined with the time-of-flight mass spectra. The dominate photoproducts are observed at different delay time of the pump (400 nm) and probe (800 nm) pulses and the corresponding time-dependence of them is obtained. The results show that the decaying time of the molecule CH_2BrCl in the A-band is in the 100 fs. The decaying tendencies of the fragment ions (CH_2Cl^+ and CH_2Br^+) and the parent ion (CH_2BrCl^+) are almost the same and the relative ratios of the yields of them keep constant during the delay time of 0 to 150 fs. These facts suggest that the fragment ions come from the fragmentation of the parent ions in excited electronic states. The probabilities to form CH_2Cl^+ and CH_2Br^+ are obtained from the relative ratio of the ion intensity and are about 71.6% and 14.2%, respectively.

Experimental investigations are performed in a three-stage low-speed axial compressor with variable inlet guide vanes(IGV) and adjustable *** characteristics of the compressor,especially the efficiency and stall margin,are analyzed in design and off-design operation conditions by adjusting stagger angles of IGV and stators as well as changing the rotational *** experimental results show that the off-design performance of the multistage axial compressor is improved by restaggering of IGV and stators related to rotational *** the background of engineering applications,digital signal processing(DSP) technique is used to realize online adjustment of stagger angles according to the corresponding relations between incidence angles of rotor and rotational speed.

The mineralogical,elemental,and isotopic characteristics of a hydrothermal sulfide sample from one dredge station (12.42.30’N,103°54.48’W,water depth 2655 m) on the East Pacific Rise near 13°N were *** hydrothermal sulfide was composed mainly of sphalerite,chalcopyrite,and pyrite and was a Zn-rich sulfide;in layer ep-s-1,goethite formed by secondary oxidation was *** concentrations of rare elements,such as Li (0.15×10-6-0.30×10-6),Be (0.01×10-6-0.05×10-6),Zr (73.8×10-9-1344×10-9),Nb (8.14×10-9-64.7×10-9),Hf (2.54×10-9-28.0×10-9),and Ta (0.203×10-9-1.21×10-9),were far lower in the hydrothermal sulfide than in the ocean crust,whereas the content of Au was higher and the contents of Co,Ni,Sr,Cs,Ba,Bi,and U were *** correlations between Zn and Cr,Cd and Ga,Cu and P,P and In (R2 > 0.8) were positive,whereas those between Zn and Fe,Cu,and Ba (R2 > 0.8) were distinctly *** low-temperature mineral assemblages to high-temperature mineral assemblages,the spatial distributions of dispersive and rare elements (***,Li,Cs) in the hydrothermal sulfide displayed corresponding *** variations observed in some elements (e.g.,Cd,Cs,P) are controlled by Zn,Fe,and Cu sulfides,*** weathering accounts for the enrichment of V,Mn,and rare earth elements (REE) in the henna sulfide-oxidation layer that bears the secondary oxide mineral,leading to identical REE patterns for this layer (ep-s-1) and *** weathering also distinctly affects the correlations between the element ratios of the hydrothermal *** high-temperature mineral assemblages to low-temperature mineral assemblages,Fe content and δ 34S value of the hydrothermal sulfide increase gradually,and Zn content and lead isotopic ratios decrease gradually on the contrary,which indicate the influences of seawater on elements and the sulfur and lead isotopic compositions enhance gradually during the formation of hydrothermal sulfides.

Temporal-spatial variations of euphotic depth of typical lake regions in Lake Taihu and its ecological environmental significance

By using the data of underwater irradiance measured in the different lakeregions of Lake Taihu during 1998—2004 and total suspended solids (TSS), wind speeds of the total13 stations in typical lake regions during 1993—2003, this paper analyzes the factors ofinfluencing on PAR (pho-tosynthetically available radiation) attenuation, euphotic depth, andpresents the temporal and spatial variations of euphotic depth of typical lake regions in LakeTaihu, and the spectral distributions of euphotic depth at station 2. The results show that theconcentration of TSS is the most important factor impacting PAR attenuation, followed by chlorophylla; chromophoric dissolved organic matter (CDOM) has little impact on the PAR euphotic depth. During1993—2003, the mean yearly PAR euphotic depths of the typical lake regions ranged from 1.04 to1.95 m with a mean value of 1.35±0.23 m. The PAR euphotic depth fell into 3 spatial zone types:Type Ⅰ, the lowest, including the lake center and the inflows of rivers; Type Ⅱ, intermediate,including Meiliang Bay, Wulihu Lake and Gonghu Bay; Type Ⅲ, the greatest, including the East LakeTaihu; corresponding mean depths were approximately 1.1, 1.4, 2.0 m, respectively. The seasonalvariations of euphotic depths were not quite the same in different lake regions. In the lake center,the mean values of PAR euphotic depth in summer and autumn were significantly greater than those inwinter and spring; in the Meiliang Bay, winter means were significantly greater than in the otherthree seasons; in the East Lake Taihu, winter means were significantly less than in the other threeseasons. However, no distinct seasonal change was recorded in the Wulihu Lake, Gonghu Bay and theinflows of rivers. The spectral distributions of euphotic depth present a minimal value at the bluelight wave band of 400 nm, and a peak at the green light wave band of around 580 nm.
