In this paper, we introduce a new job shop model that minimizes a well-motivated inventory measure while assuring on-time job deliveries. For this new problem, we introduce precise notation and formalization. A decomposition scheme is discussed in detail, which is subsequently utilized in a new shifting bottleneck procedure (SBP) for the problem. In addition to SBP, we propose another heuristic method based on successive insertion of operations. Algorithms are fine tuned through experimentation. Moreover, the two heuristic procedures are compared in terms of computation time and solution quality, using disguised actual factory data.

This paper concerns the RSA system with private CRT-exponents. Since Chinese remainder representation provides efficiency in computation, such system is of some practical significance. In this paper, an existing attack to small private CRT-exponents is analyzed. It is indicated that this attack makes nice use of lattice in RSA analysis, but some argument does not hold in general. Several counterexamples are constructed. Refinements and more precise statements of the attack are given.

Artificial intelligence has been used to obtain background factors (basic environmental factors) from landslide specialists. A 3D visible evaluation map may be charted by fuzzy evaluation, and the traditional plane map may be decoded into a 3D map by using factor weight from specialists system and technology of RS and GIS for quantitative sampling of these factors.

由于中国这一泱泱大国本身的文化优势,中国目前的比较文学研究似乎更重视中国和西方的交流,西方作者之间的渊源关系讨论较少。作为一种弥补性的小小尝试,笔者试图讨论中世纪诗人但丁和现代诗人艾略特之间的诗学渊源,即哈罗德·布鲁姆所谓的诗歌的"家庭罗曼史"。本文主要以但丁的《神曲》和艾略特《四个四重奏》组诗之《小吉丁》作为文本细读分析的对象,集中讨论以下这两个紧密联系的问题:《神曲》和《小吉丁》的互文性;但丁和艾略特对语言和神性这两者关系的自我反思。文章最后分析指出,但丁对艾略特的影响不是单向的,艾略特借鉴但丁、模仿但丁,但他同时又篡改但丁,以达到自己的创作目的。而正是在模仿但丁的过程中艾略特创造出了属于他自己的新颖诗篇。

Suppose that {αk}k∞=-∞ is a Lacunary sequence of positive numbers satisfying infαk+1/αk=α>1 and that Ω（y’）is a function in the Besov space B10,1(Sn-1)where Sn-1 is the unit sphere on Rn（n≥2）.We prove that if ∫Sn-1Ω（y’）dσ（y’）=0 then the discrete singular integral operator TΩf（x）=∫(Sn-1)f（x-αky’）Ω（y’）dσ（y’） and the associated maximal operator TΩf（x）=∫Sn-1f（x-αky’）Ω（y’）dσ（y’） are both bounded in the space L2（Rn）. The theorems in this paper improve a result by Duoandikoetxea and Rubio de Francia in the L2 case.

An atmospheric model (η model) is developed by modifying the UW θ-σ hybrid model. In the η model, the vertical coordinate transforms smoothly from terrain following to isentropic coordinates. The model is developed to capitalize on the inherent advantage of numerical modeling in isentropic coordinates and to eliminate the interface between the sigma planetary boundary layer and isentropic free atmosphere present in the UW θ-σ model. This formulation provides the potential for the data assimilation and the application of higher order schemes. This paper describes the structure of the η model and presents results from initial numerical experiments. The first experiment tests the capability of the η model for simulating the baroclinic development process. In the 48-hr numerical weather forecast experiment, the η model produces reasonable precipitation and synoptic fields at all levels which are similar to those from the UW θ-σ model. The second and third experiments test the capability of the η model for conserving 1) the joint distribution of isentropic potential vorticity (IPV) and proxy ozone and 2) equivalent potential temperature under frictionless and isentropic conditions. These experiments show that distributions of IPV and proxy ozone in the pure isentropic domain and the distributions of prognostic and diagnostic equivalent potential temperture in the model domain remain highly correlated to day 10.
