Sodium chromate solubility is determined in the range of NaOH concentrations from 450 to 810 g/L andsolution temperatUres from 30 to 110℃. The optimized conditions to separate sodium chromate from NaOH inleached solution are resolved. It is first found the method to efficiently separate sbdium chromate from NaOH andsodium altuninate in crude sodium chromate. Bench-scale studies on the separating are performed. Finally, goodseparation results are achieved.

Band gaps of 2. phononic crystal with orthotropic cylindrical fillers embedded in the isotropic host are studied in this paper. Two kinds of periodic structures, namely, the square lattice and the triangle lattice, are considered. For anisotropic phononic crystal, band gaps not only depend on the periodic lattice but also the angle between the symmetry axis of orthotropic material and that of the periodic structure. Rotating these cylindrical fillers makes the angle changing continuously; as a result, pass bands and forbidden bands of the phononic crystal are changed. The plane wave expansion method is used to reduce the band gap problem to an eigenvalue problem. The numerical example is given for YBCO/Epoxy composites. The location and the width of band gaps are estimated for different rotating angles. The influence of anisotropy on band gaps is discussed based on numerical results.

An investigation conceming the thecrostructural characterization of CuCr50 alloy layer by laser surface refining on the powder metallurgy substrate was carried out Significant refined procutectic chromium crystals distributed in an Cr-rich eutectic and high mutual solubility of Cu and Cr elements in the CuCr50 alloy were exam ined by Backscattered Eectron Imaging (BEI) and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrum (EDS) techniques. The results show that surface refining and alloying by high-power laser have a great potential to develop new and high performance alloys in the immiscible and limited solubility systems like Cu-Cr and other similar alloy systems.

Electro-spark deposition（ESD） was adopted for preparing high property coatings by depositing WC-8Co cemented carbide on an spheroidal graphite roll *** microstructure and properties of the coating were investigated by X-ray diffraction（XRD）, scanning electron microscopy（SEM） with energy dispersive X-ray（EDX） and ball-disc configuration wear *** results show that nanosized particles and amorphous structures prevail in the coating which is metallurgically bonded to the *** microstructures of the transition zone include columnar structure and equiaxed *** primary phases of the coating contain W2., W6C2.54, Fe3W3C, and *** results of abrasive test show that the coating has low friction coefficients（μaverage = 0.18） and the wear mechanisms are mainly abrasive wear, fatigue wear, and oxidation *** maximum microhardness value of the coating is about 17410 N/*** study reveals that the electro-spark deposition process has better coating quality and the coating has high wear resistance and hardness.

A new simulation system for the laboratory investigation of fretting wear is developed. It consist of a mechanism device, a electrochemical cell and a datum acqulsition and process software. Fretting of surgical 316L stainlesssteel in saline is studied. The results show that electrochemical corrosion is enhanced by fretting and anodic currentdensity under fretting is 100 times than static condition. Fretting corrosion is a mechanic -elec trochemical al Process.

Bath smelting reduction for recovering zinc from EAF (Electric Arc Furnace) dust has been investigated in the laboratory. A degree of zinc volatilization of more than 99% was obtained from the process. Temperature has a clear influence on the reduction rate of ZnO in slag. The reduction rate of (ZnO) by [C] is the first order with respect to the content of ZnO in the slag. The apparent activation energy of the (ZnO) reduction reaction is 312.kJ/mol at 1300-1500℃.

The construction of basic wavelet was discussed and many basic analyzing wavelets was compared. Acomplex analyzing wavelet which is continuous, smoothing, orthogonal and exponential decreasing was presented, andit was used to decompose two blasting seismic signals with the continuous wavelet transforms (CWT). The resultshows that wavelet analysis is the better method to help us determine the essential factors which create damage effectsthan Fourier analysis.

Since the separation of crystal of KCl saturated aqueous is similar to the crystallization of liquid metals, the melts nucleation can be simulated by the experiment of the crystal of salt aqueous solution. In this experiment pulsation treatment was imposed on KCl saturated aqueous in order to study the effect of pulsation treatment on crystallization in the salt solution, and the influence of different pulsation treating time, super-heating and bine of prescription were investigated. The results show that it is possible to modify the crystallization over satured solution temperature and the degree of under-cooling for salt crystal separation was reduced by applying pulse treating on KCl saturated aqueous solution. In addition, this technology may generate embryos for nucleation even at the temperature over melting point or satured solubility.

The effect of various process variables on the law of metal flow for semi-solid rolling 60Si2.n was studied by finite element method. Semi-solid 60Si2.n can be described as compressible rigid visco-plastic porous material saturated with liquid. In terms of ther-mo-mechanical coupling condition, the distributions of stress, velocity and temperature were studied using software MARC. The simulation results show that the rigid visco-plastic model can accurately describe the semi-solid 60Si2.n rolling process. The great deformation can achieve completely in view of low flow stress of semi-solid slurry.
