Surface greenness reflects the situation of vegetation *** index calculated from the Red and Near Infrared bands of remote sensing images,whose values indicate the level of photosynthetic activity,is monotonically related to surface greenness when vegetation canopy does not fully cover the background *** for desert regions,vegetation index is positively correlated with vegetation ***,vegetation index can be used to study the change in greenness of desert *** study collected MODIS Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) data from 2.00 to 2.10 and analyzed their change over china in this *** results showed that an increasing trend of NDVI occurred over 66.84% (OLS fitting) or 64.2.% (LAD fitting) of china,indicating that china's greenness is increasing ***,desertification of china *** showing large increase in greenness are found in Shaanxi,Shanxi,Ningxia,Henan,Shandong,Qinghai,and Gansu while regions with large decrease in greenness are found in Northeast Inner Mongolia,South Tibet,Jiangsu,and *** of Qinghai,Gansu,Xinjiang and South Tibet could probably be driven by climate *** of greenness in Northeast Inner Mongolia was related to agricultural *** of greenness in Jiangsu and shanghai was related to rapid *** factors did not exhibit obvious correspondence to the large increase in greenness in Shaanxi,Shanxi,Ningxia and Gansu,indicating that the changes might have been caused by human *** reduction of desert areas in china could probably have been caused by human management and protection at the national scale.

The gynecophoral canal protein gene SjGCP of Schistosoma japonicum that is necessary forthe pairing between the male and female worms is specifically expressed in the adult male *** is widely distributed in the adult female worm after *** transcription-polymerase chainreaction(RT-PCR)and immunofluorescence were employed to analyze the relationship between the RNAieffect and dsRNA dosage in the *** results revealed that the inhibition of SjGCP expression bysiRNA is ***-PCR analysis showed that the SjGCP transcript level was reduced by 75%when 100 nM dsRNA was applied.

Effects of ohmefentanyl stereoisomers on phosphorylation of cAMP-response element binding protein in cultured rat hippocampal neurons

AIM: To define the effects and signal pathways of ohmefentanyl stereoisomers [(-)-cis-(3R,4S,2.R) OMF (F92.2., (+)-cis-(3R,4S,2.S) OMF (F92.4), and (-)-cis-(3S,4S,2.R) OMF (F92.3)] on the phosphorylation of cAMP-response element binding protein (CREB) in cultured rat hippocampal neurons. METHODS: The effects of the three OMF stereoisomers and morphine (Mor) on cAMP accumulation and CREB phosphorylation were monitored by radioimmunoassay and Western blot analysis, respectively. RESULTS: The three OMF stereoisomers and Mor could all partially inhibit forskolin-stimulated (2.μmol/L, 15min) cAMP accumulation in a dose-dependent manner and this effect could be reversed by naloxone. F92.2. F92.4, and Mor could significantly increase CREB phosphorylation from 2.88 to 3.59 folds over control levels after 30-min exposure. This effect was reversed by naloxone, but F92.3 failed to increase CREB phosphorylation. KN-62.and staurosporine significantly blocked the opioidsinduced CREB phosphorylation, while H-89 and P

Making use of the direct method proposed by Lou et al. and symbolic computation, finite symmetry trans-formation groups for a (2.1)-dimensional cubic nonlinear Schrdinger (NLS) equation and its corresponding cylindricalNLS equations are presented. Nine related linear independent infinitesimal generators can be obtained from the finitesymmetry transformation groups by restricting the arbitrary constants in infinitesimal forms. Some exact solutions arederived from a simple travelling wave solution.

Dunaliella is a genus of wall-less unicellular eukaryotic green *** exceptional resistancesto salt and various other stresses have made it an ideal model for stress tolerance ***,very littleis known about its genome and genomic *** this study,we sequenced and analyzed a 2.,2.8 bpgenomic fragment from DunalieIla *** fragment showed low sequence homology to the *** the nucleotide level,only a segment with significant sequence homology to 18S rRNA *** fragment contained six putative genes,but only one gene showed significant homology at theprotein level to GenBank *** average GC content of this sequence was 51.1%,which was muchlower than that of close related green algae Chlamydomonas （65.7%）.Significant segmental duplicationswere found within this *** duplicated sequences accounted for about 35.7% of the *** amounts of simple sequence repeats （microsatellites） were found,with strong bias towards（AC）_n type （76%）.Analysis of other Dunaliella genomic sequences in the GenBank database （total 2.,749bp） was in agreement with these *** sequence features made it difficult to sequence Dunaliellagenomic *** investigation should be made to reveal the biological significance of these uniquesequence features.

Molecular characters and morphological genetics of CAL gene in {2. cabbage

BcpCAL, the homologous gene of CAL, was isolated from chinese cabbage. Unlike bobcat of cauliflower, BcpCAL did not hold the terminating mutation in the fifth e-con. After crosses of cauliflower with chinese cabbage, the resultant hybrids failed to form curd, which implicates the genetic complement of BcpCAL to the mutated Bob- CAL in the function of curd formation. One of CAL gene isolated from the hybrid apparently comes from the female parent (chinese cabbage) even though there are a few of the biases substituted and deleted. The result offers the molecular and genetic evidences for the Study of biological function of CAL in morphological genetics of curd.

Inter-comparisons of thermodynamic sea-ice modeling results using various parameterizations of radiative flux

Radiative fluxes are of primary importance in the energy and mass balance of the sea-ice cover. Various parameterizations of the radiative fluxes are studied in a thermodynamic sea-ice model. Model outputs of the surface radiative and heat fluxes and mass balance are compared with observations. The contribution of short-wave radiation is limited to a long part of winter. Therefore, simple schemes are often sufficient. Errors in estimations of the short-wave radiation are due mainly to cloud effects and occasionally to multi-reflection between surface and ice crystals in the air. The long-wave radiation plays an important role in the ice surface heat and mass balance during most part of a winter. The effect of clouds on the accuracy of the simple radiative schemes is critical, which needs further attention. In general, the accuracy of an ice model depends on that of the radiative fluxes.
