InP vertical porous arrays were produced using electrochemical etching at room *** as-etched InP samples were annealed in an ultra high vacuum ***-sectional analysis of the porous layer was conducted using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX).Annealing in vacuum was found to meliorate the structural quality of the porous *** results showed the composition change of the porous *** controlling the annealing process parameters,the content ratio of phosphorus (P) to indium (In) is *** property of the samples was also investigated at room *** with the sample without annealing treatment,Raman spectrum from the annealed sample showed red-shifted LO and TO peaks together with sharpened LO peak and shortened TO peak.

We propose a new principle of the cascade utilization of both chemical energy and physical energy in energy systems with the integration of chemical processes and thermal cycles. Particularly, a general equation of energy levels of substance, Gibbs free energy of chemical reaction and physical energy is explicitly founded. On the basis of this equation, a chemical-looping combustion and an indirect combustion are investigated. Furthermore, a mechanism of energy release, with the combination of decreasing the energy level of Gibbs free energy and upgrading the energy level of low or middle- temperature thermal energy, is clarified. The promising results obtained here establish a theoretical basis for the further investigation of multi-function systems in which energy and the environment are compatible, and create a new approach to improve the performance of traditional thermal cycles.

The operator operations between the disturbing potential and the geoidal undulation, the gravity anomaly, the deflection of the vertical are defined based on the relations among the gravity potential, the normal gravity potential and the disturbing potential. With the sphere as the boundary surface, based on the solution of the external boundary value problem for the disturbing potential by the spherical harmonics in the physical geodesy, the general inverse Stokes’ formula, the general inverse Vening-Meinesz formula and the general Molodensky’s formula are derived from the operator operations defined. The general formulae can get rid of the restriction of the classical formulae only used on the geoid. If the boundary surface is defined as the geoid, the general formulas are degen- erated into the classic ones.

Air pollution history of sulphur and heavy metals since 1800 in Chengde City , north china,was studied by analyzing the concentrations of sulphur and heavy metals in growth rings of Pinus tabulaeformis Carr. Sulphur concentrations in the tree rings of 1910-192., 1970-1980,and 1980-1990 have increased 1-2., 3-5 and 10 times respectively as those in the tree ring of 1810-182. (P2.-1940, possibly due to the opening of Damiao Iron Mine by the Japanese in 192.; Mn increased throughout the whole history, from 4. 1 μg/g(1840- 1850) to 10. 4 μg/g (1980 1990,P 2.4,1.8,1.5,1.0 and 0. 8 times respectively during the past 190 years or so. The results showed that serious environmental pollution, especially air pollution of SO2.has occurred since 1949 when the People's Republic of china was founded.

Nickel was deposited by ac electrolysis deposition in the pores of the porous oxide film of Al produced by anodizing in phosphoric acid. Ultrafine rod-shaped Ni particles were formed in the pores. At the same time a film of Ni oxide precursor was developed on the surface of the porous oxide film. The Ni particles and the Ni oxide precursor were examined by SEM, TEM and X-ray diffraction. The thickness of the barrier layer of the porous oxide film was thin and it attributed to the formation of the metal particles, while the formation of the oxide precursor was associated with the surface pits which were developed in the pretreatment of Al.

The interannual variability of Antarctic Oscillation (AAO) and its influence on East Asian climate during both boreal winter and spring are addressed. The results show that the positive AAO anomaly decreases the cold activity over East Asia during both boreal winter and spring. AAO-related barotropic meridional teleconnection from Antarctic to Arctic is found through analysis of mean me- ridional circulations. This meridional teleconnection is remarkable over Eurasia during boreal winter and over the Pacific Ocean during boreal spring. The results also show that zonal mean zonal wind at high latitudes in Southern Hemisphere has well positive correlation with that of Eurasia during boreal winter and has negative correlation with Pacific North American teleconnection (PNA) during boreal spring, which again display the meridional teleconnection. Thus, local meridional teleconnection is a possible linkage for interaction of circulations at mid-high latitudes between both hemispheres.

A coupled numerical model with a 2. 2. resolution grid has been developed and used to simulate five typical typhoon storm surges(5612.7413,7910,8114,and 9711) in the East Sea of *** main driving forces have been considered in this coupled model:wave radiation stress,combined wave-current bottom shear stress and wave-state-dependent surface wind *** model has then been compared with in situ measurements of the storm *** effect of different driving force components on the total storm surge has also been *** study has found that the coupled model with high resolution is capable of simulating the five typical typhoons better than the uncoupled models,and that the wave-dependent surface wind stress plays an important role in typhoon storm surge-wave coupling in this area and can increase the storm set-up by 1 *** study of the five typhoon cases has shown that the general coupling effects could increase storm set-up by 2.-32..Thus,it is suggested that to predict typhoon storm surges in the East Sea of china,a storm surge-wave coupled model be adopted.

In this study, grain-size of 507 bulk samples from the QA-I Mioceneloess-soil sequence at Qinan were analyzed, and the grain-size features are compared with those oftypical Quaternary loess and soil samples, representative lacustrine and fluvial samples. Theresults indicate that the grain-size distribution pattern of the Miocene loess is essentiallysimilar to that of Quaternary loess, but greatly differs from the lacustrine and fluvial *** layers are regularly coarser than soil layers, indicating cyclical climate changes. Mediangrain-size along the 2.3.1 m sequence varies from 6 to 13 μm and the > 63 μm fraction representsonly 5.3% in maximum, 0.9% in average. Long-term grain-size variations are consistent with the loessaccumulation rate at Qinan and with the eolian mass accumulation rate in the North Pacific. Thesefeatures firmly indicate an eolian origin of the studied sequence, and also reveal a coeval changesbetween the long-term changes of eolian grain-size and continental aridity in the dust sourceregions.
