The eye,as a specialized visual organ,is directly exposed to the external environment,and,therefore,it faces constant chal-lenges from external pathogenic organisms and *** the ocular mucosa(OM)of mammals,mucosal-associated lymphoid tissues(MALTs)constitute the primary line of ***,the immune defense role of the OM remains unknown in aquatic *** gain insights into the immune processes within the OM of teleost fish,we developed an infection model of rainbow trout(Oncorhynchus mykiss)OM using a parasite,Ichthyophthirius multifiliis(Ich).Immunofluorescence,qPCR,and H&E staining revealed that Ich successfully infiltrates the OM of rainbow trout,leading to pathological struc-tural changes,as evidenced by A&B ***,the qPCR results indicate an up-regulation of immune-related genes following Ich infection in the ***,transcriptome analyses were conducted to detect immune responses and impairments in eye function within the OM of rainbow trout with Ich *** results of the transcriptome analysis that Ich infection can cause an extensive immune response in the OM,ultimately affecting ocular *** the best of our knowledge,our findings represent for the first time that the teleost OM could act as an invasion site for parasites and trigger a strong mucosal immune response to parasitic infection.

A partially linear model with longitudinal data is considered, empirical likelihood to infer- ence for the regression coefficients and the baseline function is investigated, the empirical log-likelihood ratios is proven to be asymptotically chi-squared, and the corresponding confidence regions for the pa- rameters of interest are then constructed. Also by the empirical likelihood ratio functions, we can obtain the maximum empirical likelihood estimates of the regression coefficients and the baseline function, and prove the asymptotic normality. The numerical results are conducted to compare the performance of the empirical likelihood and the normal approximation-based method, and a real example is analysed.

A new spiropyran derivative was synthesized and first utilized in a polymericfilm-based optical sensor for zinc ion. Spiropyrans, combining the characteristics of metal bindingand signal transduction, show potential function in the design of optical chemical sensors(optodes) toward metal ions. When embedded in a plasticized poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) membrane,the newly synthesized spiropyran derivative 1 exhibits obvious fluorescence enhancement at 630 nm inthe presence of zinc ion in aqueous solution. With the optimum condition described, the optodemembrane responds to zinc ion over a dynamic range of 4.94x10^(-7) to 4.15x10^(-4)mol·L^(-1), witha detection limit of 1.51x10^(-7) mol·L^(-1). The membrane not only displays excellentphotostability, reproducibility and reversibility, but also exhibits high selectivity toward zincion over transition metal ions including Hg^(2.), Cd^(2.), Pb^(2.), Cu^(2.), Fe^(3+) and commoncationic ions presented in the physiological fluids.

Each joint of a hydraulic-driven legged robot adopts a highly integrated hydraulic drive unit(HDU),which features a high power-weight ***,most HDUs are throttling-valve-controlled cylinder systems,which exhibit high energy *** contrast,pump control systems offer a high ***,their response ability is *** fully utilize the advantages of pump and valve control systems,in this study,a new type of pump-valve compound drive system(PCDS)is designed,which can not only effectively reduce the energy loss,but can also ensure the response speed and response accuracy of the HDUs in robot joints to satisfy the performance requirements of ***,considering the force control requirements of energy conservation,high precision,and fast response of the robot joint HDU,a nonlinear mathematical model of the PCDS force control system is first *** addition,pressure-flow nonlinearity,friction nonlinearity,load complexity and variability,and other factors affecting the system are considered,and a novel force control method based on quantitative feedback theory(QFT)and a disturbance torque observer(DTO)is designed,which is denoted as QFT-DTOC *** method improves the control accuracy and robustness of the force control system,reduces the effect of the disturbance torque on the control performance of the servo motor,and improves the overall force control performance of the ***,experimental verification is performed using the PCDS performance test *** experimental results and quantitative data show that the QFT-DTOC proposed herein can significantly improve the force control performance of the *** relevant force control method can be used as a bottom-control method for the hydraulic servo system to provide a foundation for implementing the top-level trajectory planning of the robot.

The ice phenology of alpine lakes on the Tibetan Plateau(TP)is a rapid and direct responder to climate changes,and the variations in lake ice exhibit high temporal frequency *** and passive microwave data are widely used to monitor lake ice changes with high temporal ***,the low spatial resolutions make it difficult to effectively quantify the freeze-melt dynamics of *** work used Sentinel-1 synthetic aperture radar(SAR)data to derive high-resolution ice maps(about 6 days),then with the aid of Sentinel-2.optical images to quantify freeze-melt processes in three typical lakes on the TP(*** Co,Ayakekumu Lake,and Nam Co).The results showed that three lakes had an average annual ice period of 12.-157 days and a complete ice cover period of 72.115 days,from 2.18 to *** exhibit different ice phenology *** Co is characterized by repeated episodes of freezing,melting,and refreezing,resulting in a prolonged freeze-up ***,the break-up period of Nam Co lasts for a longer duration(about 19 days),and the break-up exhibits a smooth ***,Ayakekumu Lake showed more significant inter-annual fluctuations in the freeze-up period,with deviations of up to 2. days observed among different *** to the other two lakes,Selin Co experienced a relatively short freeze-up and break-up *** short,Sentinel-1 SAR data can effectively monitor the weekly and seasonal variations in lake ice on the ***,this data facilitates quantification of the freeze-melt dynamics.

Objective Vasculogenic mimicry(VM)is a novel vasculogenic process integral to glioma stem cells(GSCs)in glioblastoma(GBM).However,the relationship between VM and ataxia-telangiectasia mutated(ATM)serine/threonine kinase activation,which confers chemoradiotherapy resistance,remains *** We investigated VM formation and phosphorylated ATM(pATM)levels by CD31/GFAPperiodic acid-Schiff dual staining and immunohistochemical staining in 145 GBM *** stem-like cells(GSLCs)derived from the formatted spheres of U87 and U2.1 cell lines and their pATM level and VM formation ability were examined using western blot and three-dimensional *** the examination of the function of pATM in VM formation by GSLCs,ATM knockdown by shRNAs and deactivated via ATM phosphorylation inhibitor KU55933 were *** VM and high pATM expression occurred in 38.5% and 41.8% of tumors,respectively,and were significantly associated with reduced progression-free and overall *** with VM-positive GBMs exhibited higher pATM levels(r_(s)=0.42.,P=0.01).The multivariate analysis established VM as an independent negative prognostic factor(P=0.002..Furthermore,GSLCs expressed high levels of pATM and formed vascular-like networks in *** inactivation or knockdown hindered VM-like network formation concomitant with the downregulation of pVEGFR-2.VE-cadherin,and laminin *** VM may predict a poor GBM prognosis and is associated with pATM *** propose that pATM promotes VM through extracellular matrix modulation and VE-Cadherin/pVEGFR-2.activation,thereby highlighting ATM activation as a potential target for enhancing anti-angiogenesis therapies for GBM.

Background The dairy cow’s postpartum period is characterized by dramatic physiological changes,therefore imposing severe challenges on the animal for maintaining health and milk *** dynamics of the ruminal microbiota are also tremendous and may play a crucial role in lactation *** aim to investigate the potential benefits of early microbial intervention by fresh rumen microbiota transplantation(RMT)and sterile RMT in postpartum dairy *** fistulated peak-lactation dairy cows were selected to be the donors for rumen fluid *** postpartum cows were divided into 3 groups as the transplantation receptors respectively receiving 10 L fresh rumen fluid(FR),10 L sterile rumen fluid(SR),or 10 L saline(CON)during 3 d after *** Production performance,plasma indices,plasma lipidome,ruminal microbiome,and liver transcriptome were *** fresh and sterile RMT,we found that the molar proportion of propionic acid was increased on d 7 in the FR and SR groups and the bacterial composition was also significantly changed when compared with the CON group.A similarity analysis showed that the similarities between the CON group and FR or SR group on d 7 were 48.40%or 47.85%,whereas the similarities between microbiota on d 7 and 2. in the FR and SR groups were 68.34%or 66.85%.Dry matter intake and feed efficiency were not affected by ***β-hydroxybutyrate concentration in the FR group was decreased and significantly different lipids mainly included phosphatidylcholine and lysophosphatidylcholine containing polyunsaturated fatty *** transcriptomics analysis indicated acutephase response pathways were upregulated in the SR *** Our study suggests that RMT can shorten the transition process of the ruminal microbiota of postpartum dairy cows with no benefit on dry matter intake or feed *** with rumen fluid may not be a useful approach to promote the recovery of postpartum dairy cows.

BACKGROUND Despite advances in research on psychopathology and social media use,no comprehensive review has examined published papers on this type of research and considered how it was affected by the coronavirus disease 2.19(COVID-19)*** To explore the status of research on psychopathology and social media use before and after the COVID-19 *** We used Bibliometrix(an R software package)to conduct a scientometric analysis of 4588 relevant studies drawn from the Web of Science Core Collection,PubMed,and Scopus *** Such research output was scarce before COVID-19,but exploded after the pandemic with the publication of a number of high-impact *** authors and institutions,located primarily in developed countries,maintained their core positions,largely uninfluenced by COVID-19;however,research production and collaboration in developing countries increased significantly after *** the analysis of keywords,we identified commonly used methods in this field,together with specific populations,psychopathological conditions,and clinical *** have devoted increasing attention to gender differences in psychopathological states and linked COVID-19 strongly to depression,with depression detection becoming a new *** in research on psychopathology and social media use are unbalanced and uncoordinated across countries/regions,and more indepth clinical studies should be conducted in the *** After COVID-19,there was an increased level of concern about mental health issues and a changing emphasis on social media use and the impact of public health emergencies.
