Let {W(t): t≥0} be a standard Wiener process and S be the Strassen set of functions. We investigate the exact rates of convergence to zero (as T→∞) of the variables sup_(0≤≤T-a_T inf_(f∈S sup_(0≤r≤1 |Y_t, T(x)-f(x)] and inf_(0≤t≤T-a_T sup_(0≤x≤1|Y_(t.T)(x)-f(x)| for any given f∈S, where Y_(t.T)(x)=(W(t+xa_T)-W(t))(2._T(logTa_T^(-1)+log logT))^(-1/2.. We establish a relation between how small the increments are and the functional limit results of Csrg-Revesz increments for a Wiener process. Similar results for partial sums of i.i.d, random variables are also given.

Cenxi Permian basalts are the late Palaeozoic island-arc type basalts first found in South China. REE and trace element characteristics and distribution patterns show that this volcanic formation, which has been isotopically dated at 2.1 MaB.P. by the 39Ar/ 40Ar method, is of an active continental marginal island arc type, and that the tectonic environment at that time was an island-arc marginal sea or minor ocean basin related with the paleo-Tethyan tectonic belt in western Guangdong-eastern Guangxi.

To investigate organic matter source and reactivity in the Zhujiang River (Pearl River) Estuary and its adjacent areas, particulate organic carbon (POC), particulate hydrolysable amino acids (PHAA), and Chl a during two cruises in July 1999 and July 2.00 were measured. The highest POC and PHAA concentration was observed in the waters with maximum Chl a. The spectra distribution, relative content (dry weight in milligram per gram), PHAA-C% POC and other indicators such as the ratios of amino acids vs. amino sugars (AA/AS) and glucosamine vs. galactosamine (Glum/Gal) suggested that particulate amino acids in the water column and sediments in the Zhujiang River Estuary were mainly derived from biogenic processes rather than transported from terrestrial erosion. In inner estuary where high turbidity was often observable, organic matter was mainly contributed by re-suspension of bottom sediments with revealed zooplankton, microbial reworked characteristics, which suggest that these organic matters were relatively 'old'. In the estuarine brackish region, organic matter in water column is mainly contributed by relatively fresh, easily degradable phytoplankton derived organic matter. During physical - biological processes within the eastuary, organic matter derived from phytoplankton was subjected to alteration by zooplankton grazing and bacterial reworking.

The network-on-chip (NoC) architecture is a main factor affecting the system performance of complicated multi-processor systems-on-chips (MPSoCs).To evaluate the effects of the NoC architectures on communication efficiency,several kinds of techniques have been developed,including various simulators and analytical *** simulators are accurate but time consuming,especially in large space explorations of diverse network configurations;in contrast,the analytical models are fast and flexible,providing alternative methods for performance *** this paper,we propose a general analytical model to esti-mate the communication performance for arbitrary NoCs with wormhole routing and virtual channel flow *** resolve the inherent dependency of successive links occupied by one packet in wormhole routing,we propose the routing path decomposition approach to generating a series of ordered link *** we use the traditional queuing system to derive the fine-grained transmission latency for each network *** to our experiments,the proposed analytical model provides a good approximation of the average packet latency to the simulation results,and estimates the network throughput precisely under various NoC configurations and ***,the analytical model runs about 10 5 times faster than the cycle-accurate NoC *** applications of the model including bottleneck detection and virtual channel allocation are also presented.

Steroid hormones play essential roles in animal growth and development. Steroid signaling in animal system is focused on the direct gene regulation response mediated by its nuclear receptors. Recently, steroid hormones are also found in plants. Identification of BRI1 — a critical compo-nent of the plasma-membrane steroid receptor complex, and the related signal transduction pathway mediated by the membrane receptor have revealed an elementary picture of BR signaling from the cell surface perception to the activa-tion of BR-responsive nuclear genes.

Notifiable infectious diseases are a major public health concern in China,causing about five million illnesses and twelve thousand deaths every *** detection of disease activity,when followed by a rapid response,can reduce both social and medical impact of the *** aim to improve early detection by monitoring health-seeking behavior and disease-related news over the ***,we counted unique search queries submitted to the Baidu search engine in 2.08 that contained disease-related search *** we counted the news articles aggregated by Baidu's robot programs that contained disease-related *** found that the search frequency data and the news count data both have distinct temporal association with disease *** adopted a linear model and used searches and news with 1–2.0-day lead time as explanatory variables to predict the number of infections and deaths attributable to four notifiable infectious diseases,i.e.,scarlet fever,dysentery,AIDS,and *** the search frequency data and news count data,our approach can quantitatively estimate up-to-date epidemic trends 10–40 days ahead of the release of Chinese Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(Chinese CDC)*** approach may provide an additional tool for notifiable infectious disease surveillance.

This paper presents two conceptual models of displacement transfer, reverse sym- metry model and infinitely equal division model, based on the fault-bend folding theory. If the fault shape is held constant in the trend, then the distribution of slip magnitude, geometry of imbricate structures and its axial surface map all display reverse symmetry on the process of displacement transfer, as called reverse symmetry model in this paper. However, if the ramp height of thrust fault decreases gradually along its strike, the displacement is postulated to be equally and infinitely divided to every thrust that is formed subsequently, this kinematic process is described using infinitely equal division model. In both models, displacement transfer is characterized by the regular changes of imbricate thrusting in the trend. Geometric analysis indicates that the displacement transfer grads can be estimated using the tangent of deflective angle of hinterland structures. Displacement transfer is often responsible for the distortion and branching of the surface anticlines, especially in the region where the multi-level detachment structures is developed. We also present some examples from the frontal structures of the Southern Tianshan fold-and-thrust belt, Xinjiang, China. Displacement transfer between deep imbricate thrusts in the middle segment of Qiulitag anticline zone causes the Kuqatawu and Southern Qiulitag deep an- ticlines left-lateral echelon. The region, where these two deep anticlines overlap, is characterized by duplex structures, and extends about 18 km. The shallow anticline is migrated southward displaying obvious “S” form in this area.
