An addition is a fundamental arithmetic operation which is used extensively in many very large-scale integration (VLSI) systems such as application-specific digital signal processing (DSP) and *** adder determines the overall performance of the circuits in most of those *** this paper we propose a novel 1-bit full adder cell which uses only eight *** this design,three multiplexers and one inverter are applied tominimize the transistor count and reduce power *** power dissipation,propagation delay,and power-delay produced using the new design are analyzed and com-pared with those of other designs using HSPICE *** results show that the proposed adder has both lower power consumption and a lower power-delay product (PDP) *** low power and low transistor count make the novel 8T full adder cell a candidate for power-efficient applications.

We describe a new method of fabricating a brush-like polystyrene layer anchored on the surface of the silicon substrate, which involves three steps, namely (i) the attachment of 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane onto the silicon surface; (ii) the reaction of vinyl moiety at another extremity of the anchored 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane to 4-Hydroxyl-2. 2. 6, 6-tetramethyl-1-piperidinyloxy (HTEMPO?) catalyzed by azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN); (iii) living free radical grafting polymerization of styrene in the presence of HTEMPO?. The controllable living free radical polymerization permits accurate control of both the molecular weight and the polydispersity. X-photoelectron spectroscopy measurement proved that the alkoxyamine initiator layer forms on the silicon surface. XPS and Ellipsometry measurements showed that the poly-styrene chains were covalently anchored onto the silicon surface. The thickness of the grafted polymer layer can be accurately manipulated by altering the polymerization time. The new method allows synthesizing random copolymer and block copolymers by the sequential growth of monomers from the substrate surface.

Transverse waves are a type of structural waves and should be considered in the analysis of high frequency vibration because the energy carried by transverse waves increases with the increase of frequency and becomes important at high frequencies. This paper studies the estimate theory and measuring technique of the transverse wave intensity in two-dimensional homogeneous structures. In general, the intensity vector is the sum of the effective intensity vector and the intensity variation vector. Each axial intensity component is proportional to two imaginary parts of cross spectral densities and its estimate is complicated. For the special case where transverse waves propagate in one direction, the intensity variation is zero and the estimate of the intensity is simplified. The intensity technique is formed based on the finite difference principle. Transverse wave intensity can be measured using a pair of two-transducer arrays lying in the orthogonal direction for the general case or a two-transducer array lying in the propagating direction for the special case. In order to assess the measurement accuracy of transverse wave intensify, the coupling loss factors from bending to transverse waves in building structures were measured using the intensity technique and compared with the results predicted and measured using the conventional method. It is shown that the agreement between the results measured using the intensity technique and that by the conventional method is good.

Node localization is a fundamental problem in wireless sensor *** are many existing algorithms to estimate the locations of the ***,most of the methods did not consider the presence of *** practice,obstacles will lead to blockage and reflection of communication signals between sensor ***,the presence of obstacles will greatly affect the localization *** this paper,we implement an obstacle-handling algorithm based on the localization tool developed by MIT,The experimental result shows that the enhanced algorithm can reduce the average distance error by up to 46 %,compared to the original algorithm.

Due to their slow growth rates, seamount Co-rich crusts are very difficult to date with high resolution and precision. This paper is to test the use of orbital pacing on the growth profile of crusts to determine high-resolution age and growth rate. Crust CB14 from the central Pacific Ocean was selected for this study. We first examined the growth pattern in detail under a reflected-light microscope and ascertained that the growth environment was stable for the sub-layer 1 (0-3 mm). We then used electron micro-probe line-scanning to obtain elemental profiles. The pattern of the power spectrum analysis of the Al-profile revealed that there are significant cycles of 113.9, 87.8, 51.5, 42.2.and 2..8 μm. These cycles correspond to the Milankovitch cycles of 53.1, 41, 2., 19.7 and 12.ka, respectively, and yield the growth rate of about 2.14 mm/Ma and an age of about 1.40 Ma for the boundary between the sub-layer 1 and sub-layer 2. We also used a drilling machine with a numerically controlled drive to obtain high-resolution samples at 0.1mm intervals, and used the 2.0Thex/2.2.h method to date the samples. For the uppermost 1.3 mm, the growth rate was about 2.15 mm/Ma, and the age for the layer at the depth of 3 mm was about 1.40 Ma, which coincides perfectly with the results obtained from orbital pacing. Thus, it is considered that orbital pacing is a new and effective method to determine the growth rate of the seamount Co-rich crust. This method is applicable for establishing a high-resolution age frame for the crusts of the world's oceans.
