The pseudo-quaternary phase diagram of Brij35/sodium oleate/oleic acid/watersystems has been investigated, and the liquid crystal area has been identified, which covers abouttwo thirds of the whole phase diagram. The liquid crystal structure and behavior have been alsostudied by using polarizing texture, small angle X-ray scattering, ~2.-NMR and rheometer etc. Theresult shows that when the composition of the system changes along the line of AA′ in this largeliquid crystal region, the structural change iscubic→cubic/lamellar→lamellar→larnellar/hexagonal→hexagonal. Meanwhile, we made the firstattempt of systematic study of the rheological properties of the above system. The lattice constantsof cubic and hexagonal liquid crystals are 10.53 and 5.68 nm, respectively.

In this paper, we discuss a posteriori error estimates of the eigenvalue λ[sub h] given by Adini nonconforming finite element. We give an assymptotically exact error estimator of the λ[sub h]. We prove that the order of convergence of the λ[sub h] is just 2.and the converge from below for sufficiently small h. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This is a survey article about using non-conforming finite elements in solving eigenvalue problems of elliptic operators,with emphasis on obtaining lower bounds. In addition,this article also contains some new materials for eigenvalue approximations of the Laplace operator,which include:1) the proof of the fact that the non-conforming Crouzeix-Raviart element approximates eigenvalues associated with smooth eigenfunctions from below;2. the proof of the fact that the non-conforming EQ rot1 element approximates eigenvalues from below on polygonal domains that can be decomposed into rectangular elements;3) the explanation of the phenomena that numerical eigenvalues λ 1,h and λ 3,h of the non-conforming Q rot1 element approximate the true eigenvalues from below for the L-shaped domain. Finally,we list several unsolved problems.

Influence of Co＋Nb on the Nd8Fe82.o3Nb1B6 nanocomposite magnets was investigated by adding Co element combined with Nb element. Results show that the high temperature stability of two phases is increased. Adding Co＋Nb could improve the glass forming ability of the alloy, reduce the size of grains, increase the exchange coupling ability of two phases, and obviously increase the magnetic properties of the alloy. The optimal magnetic properties are Br=1.14 T, Hcj=32. kA/m, （BH）max=109.3 kJ/m^3

Here we report discovery of a sponge body fossil Triticispongia sp. from the base of lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation at Jinsha, guizhou. Stratigraphically, the fossil horizon is located below Ni-Mo ore layer with the Niutitang Biota above, and is equivalent to the late Meishucunian. The species is global in shape with skeletons composed of stauractins and monaxons. Triticispongia sp. reported here may be the earliest sponge body fossils of Cambrian, which provides new information for understanding early evolution and radiation of sponge animals.

After mass extinctions, most areas became “ecologically barren areas” lacking or even without ecosystem over an extensive region. Studying the pioneer organisms and the reconstruction process of a new ecosystem in the “ecologically barren area” is very important for revealing the evo- lution after bio-mass extinctions. In the Dushan region, guizhou Province, china, the trace fossils appeared and flourished evidently earlier than body fossils after Frasnian-Famennian (F-F) mass extinction. The pioneer organisms and pathfinders in the “ecologically barren areas” are the trace-makers that are deposit-feeders with relatively simple structure and conformation on or near the deposit surface. The trace-makers have undergone an evolutionary process that their trace structures changed from simple to complex, and their living and moving areas and spaces enlarged from linear to planar and then to three-dimension spaces. Those characters show that the ability of the trace-makers to deposits and their efficiency of looking for food have been enhanced gradually and that those trace-makers constructed gradually a base for the new ecosystem. This process is similar to that of the trace fossils near the Precambrian-Cambrian boundary. In the Dushan area, only the recovery intervals have been identified for the Famennian body fossils, with no eminent radiation interval recognizable due to the Devonian-Carboniferous (C-D) mass ex- tinction. However, both the recovery and radiation intervals may be clearly recognized in the Famen- nian trace fossils based on their conformation and diversity. The evolution and diversification of the trace fossils in the “ecologically barren area” is considered to have played a role of necessary foun- dation for the recovery of body fossils in the ecological chain. With the gradual disappearance of the unfavourable environment factors resulting in the F-F mass extinction, a new ecosystem was reconstructed in the “ecologically barren area” through a three-

1 Research significance and study area GEOCHEMISTRY of organic matter in metallic ore deposits and the role of organic matter in metallogenesisare the hot subjects of research in the field of ore deposits and also a weak link in this field. Widespreadin the areas of Tongren, Danzhai, etc. in eastern guizhou (simplified as southeastern guizhou or Qiandongnan below) are large-sized Hg (dominant), Sb, and Au deposits, while in the areas of Qinglong,Xingren, Zhenfeng, Anlong, etc. In southwestern guizhou (simplified as southwestern guizhou orQianxinan below) are a number of large-sized and extremely large-sized microfine disseminated gold deposits and Sb and Hg deposits. Studies have shown that their ore-forming temperatures are estimated al2.0℃ for most Au deposits, respectively, allof them belonging to the typical low-temperature deposits. It is a challenge to coordinate carrier-kinetics performance and the redox capacity of photogenerated charges synchronously at the atomic level for boosting photocatalytic ***,the atomic Ni was introduced into the lattice of hexagonal ZnIn_(2.S_(4) nanosheets(Ni/ZnIn_(2.S_(4))via directionalsubstituting Zn atom with the facile hydrothermal *** electronic structure calculations indicate that the introduction of Ni atom effectively extracts more electrons and acts as active site for subsequent reduction *** the optimized light absorption range,the elevation of Efand ECBendows Ni/ZnIn_(2.S_(4) photocatalyst with the increased electron concentration and the enhanced reduction ability for surface ***,ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy,as well as a series of electrochemical tests,demonstrates that Ni/ZnIn_(2.S_(4) possesses 2.15 times longer lifetime of the excited charge carriers and an order of magnitude increase for carrier mobility and separation efficiency compared with pristine ZnIn_(2.S_(4).These efficient kinetics performances of charge carriers and enhanced redox capacity synergistically boost photocatalytic activity,in which a 3-times higher conversion efficiency of nitrobenzene reduction was achieved upon Ni/ZnIn_(2.S_(4).Our study not only provides in-depth insights into the effect of atomic directional-substitution on the kinetic behavior of photogenerated charges,but also opens an avenue to the synchronous optimization of redox capacity and carrier-kinetics performance for efficient solar energy conversion.
