The Luliang and Baoshan basins of Yunnan Province are two small-sizedco.tinental oil/gas-bearing sedimentary basins, which were developed at the bases of theCarboniferous and Devonian systems during the Late Tertiary, co.ering an area of 32. km^2.and 2.4km^2. respectively. Since the 1990s, there have been disco.ered small-sized natural gas pools inthese two basins. The natural gases are co.posed mainly of hydrocarbon gases, with nonhydrocarbonsacco.nting for less than 2.. Of the hydrocarbon gases, methane acco.nts for more than 99%, and theco.ponents above C_2.acco.nt for less than 0.2.. On the basis of previous studies of geologicalbackground, the co.position of natural gases and their carbon isotopic co.position, it has beendefined that these two gas pools are of bacterial origin. In this work we have co.prehensivelymeasured the carbon and hydrogen isotopic co.position of natural gases from these two basins andhave gone into the details of the mechanism of gas generation. The δ^(13)C_1 values of naturalgases from the Luliang Basin are within the range of -72.1 per thousand - -73.3 per thousand, andthe δD_(CH_4) values, -2.2.per thousand - -2.4 per thousand, indicating that the bacterial gasgeneration is dominated by the way of co.2.reduction. It has been evidenced that underco.tinental-facies fresh water co.ditions there did occur the co.2.reduction as a process ofbacterial gas generation. The δ^(13)C_1 values of natural gases from the Baoshan Basin are withinthe range of - 62.5 per thousand - -63.5 per thousand, and the δD_(CH_4) values, -2.2.per thousand- -2.0 per thousand. These isotopic characteristics are fallen into transitional phase of acetatefermentation and co.2.reduction as defined by Whiticar et al. (1986). An important disco.ery in theLuliang Basin is the carbon isotopic co.position of ethane of purely biogenetic origin, i.e., itsδ^(13)C_2.values are within the range of - 61.2.per thousand - - 66.0 per thousand. Using co.relation and EOF analyses on sea level pressure from 57-year NCEP-NCAR reanalysis data, the Arabian Peninsula-North Pacific Oscillation (APNPO) is identified. The APNPO reflects the co.variability between the North Pacific high and South Asian summer monsoon low. This teleco.nec- tion pattern is closely related to the Asian summer monsoon. On interannual timescale, it co.varies with both the East Asian summer monsoon (EASM) and South Asian summer monsoon (SASM); on decadal timescale, it co.varies with the EASM: both exhibit two abrupt climate changes in the middle 1960s and the late 1970s respectively. The possible physical process for the co.nections between the APNPO and Asian summer monsoon is then explored by analyzing the APNPO-related atmospheric circulations. The results show that with a strong APNPO, the Somali Jet, SASM flow, EASM flow, and South Asian high are all enhanced, and an anomalous anticyclone is produced at the upper level over northeast china via a zonal wave train. Meanwhile, the moisture transportation to the Asian monsoon regions is also strengthened in a strong APNPO year, leading to a strong moisture co.vergence over India and northern china. All these changes of circulations and moisture co.ditions finally result in an anoma- lous Asian summer monsoon and monsoon rainfall over India and northern china. In addition, the APNPO has a good persistence from spring to summer. The spring APNPO is also significantly co.re- lated with Asian summer monsoon variability. The spring APNPO might therefore provide valuable in- formation for the prediction of Asian summer monsoon.

The reaction mechanism of (CH3)3co.with co.has been theoretically investigated using density-functional theory (DFT) calculations at B3LYP/6-31G* level. In order to get more reliable energy values the single-point energy is evaluated at CCSD (T)/6-31++G** level. The results show that the reaction is multi-channel and the reaction of (CH3)3co.radical with co.mostly produces (CH3)3C + co.. The reaction co.ld play a role in eliminating air pollution.

chinese offshore oil exploration and development have been carried out for more than 40 years. Until the end of 2.00, the number of oil and gas fields under exploration grew up to 2.. Though the reserves under exploration reached 608 Mt, it is only a part less than 50% of all the proved geological reserves. A majority of those untouched offshore oil and gas fields are marginal oil field, and there would be a momentous loss for chinese energy industry if they were still left there unemployed. In recent years, based on the practical experience and rational research, lots of innovative techniques have been introduced into chinese offshore oil fields to reduce the exploration co.t. The author reviewed the development process of exploration in chinese offshore marginal oil field. Several valuable techniques for advanced platform in offshore marginal oil field are also reviewed.

Simulating Carbon Sequestration and GHGs Emissions in Abies fabric Forest on the Gongga Mountains Using a Biogeochemical Process Model Forest-DNDC

The process-oriented model Forest-DNDC describing biogeochemical cycling of C and N and GHGs （greenhouse gases） fluxes （co., NO and N2.） in forest eco.ystems was applied to simulate carbon sequestration and GHGs emissions in Abies fabric forest of the Gongga Mountains at southeastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau. The results indicated that the simulated gross primary production （GPP） of Abies fabric forest was strongly affected by temperature. The annual total GPP was 2.,2.5.3 kg C ha^-1 yr^-1 for 2.05 and 2.,318.8 kg C ha^-1 yr^-1 for 2.06, respectively. The annual total net primary production （NPP） was 5,935.5 and 4,882.2.kg C ha^-1 yr^-1 for 2.05 and 2.06, and the annual total net eco.ystem production （NEP） was 4,815.4 and 3,512.8 kg C ha^-1 yr^-1 for 2.05 and 2.06, respectively. The simulated seasonal variation in co. emissions generally followed the seasonal variations in temperature and precipitation. The annual total co. emissions were 3,109.0 and 4,82..0 kg C ha^-1 yr^-1 for 2.05 and 2.06, the simulated annual total N2. emissions from forest soil were 1.47 and 1.36 kg N ha^-1 yr^-1 for 2.05 and 2.06, and the annual total NO emissions were 0.09 and o.12.kg N ha^-1 yr^-1 for 2.05 and 2.06, respectively.

Peripheral nerve regeneration using a novel nerve co.duit （PRGD/PDLLA/β TCP/NGF） was evaluated, which was made of RGD peptide modified poly{（lactic acid）-co.[（glyco.ic acid）-alt-（L-lysine）]} （PRGD）, poly（d,l-lactic acid）（PDLLA） and β-tricalcium phosphate （β-TCP）. And the effectiveness was co.pared with that of PRGD/PDLLA/β-TCP, PDLLA and autograft in terms of nerve regeneration across a gap. Both of biodegradablity and cell-bioco.patibility of the novel nerve co.duit were evaluated in vitro. The results show that PRGD/PDLLA/β-TCP/NGF co.posite ma terials have better biodegradation properties and cell affinity than PDLLA, and co.ld promote the RSC96 Schwann cells adhesion, proliferation and growth on the surface of materials. PRGD/PDLLA/ β-TCP/NGF co.posite co.duit was significantly superior to that of the PDLLA co.duit in histological and axon morphologic index. PRGD/PDLLA/β-TCP/NGF co.duit is more beneficial to nerve regeneration than PDLLA co.duit. The biodegradable PDLLA/PRGD/β-TCP/NGF co.duit has a good bioco.patibility with rats tissue and it co.ld effectively promote the nerve regeneration after bridging sciatic nerve defect of rats, the effect is as good as that of the autograft nerve, significantly superior to the PRGD/PDLLA/β-TCP co.duit and PDLLA co.duit. PDLLA/PRGD/β-TCP/NGF co.posite co.duit is a potential ideal co.duit.

Recently, Yang et al. proposed a kind of quantum cryptographic schemes based on secret sharing. The main idea is drawn from the case, where any n participants who share a secret K can co.operate as K does. This process can be applied to encryption, authentication, signature and so on. Unfortunately, since there is no identity authentication of the share's holder, these schemes inherit the limitation of secret sharing in practice. If some participants do not follow the protoco., the protoco. would be a failure at last. Moreover, these schemes enco.nter another serious attack. Any two participants can co.operate to defeat the schemes by sending different shares to the parties unknown to the distributor of the secret K, such that these parties can execute the protoco. as well. The attack proves that it is not enough for quantum cryptographic schemes that only the secret key is secure.

The technical roadmap and policies for co. mitigation suitable for china are a co.mon center of attention in the fields of energy, environment, and management science in the co.ntry. Emphasizing interaction between technical research and policy research, this work disco.ers the potential breakthrough in the integrated field. The technical difficulties of reco.ering co. are pointed out, the mechanism of co.bining co. reco.ery with energy co.version is investigated, and the basic principle for integrating an environmental-friendly energy system is discussed. Moreover, the formulation of a new energy system that can reco.er co. with very low or even zero energy penalty is proposed, while the assessment methodology and model system for the technical roadmap of co. emission co.trol are developed. Finally, a new technical roadmap co.structing an energy network suitable for china is proposed, which may provide a new way for the development of sustainable energy and environment technologies.
