Characterization of MASDs of surface soils in north china and its influence on estimating dust emission

The micro-aggregated size distribution (MASD) of surface soil is an important parameter for modelling dust emission. However, there is no dataset of MASDs of all sur-face soil types in north china. The MASDs are here pre-sented, measured by dry sieving, for typical surface soil sam-ples, including sandy soil, gravelly sand soil, gravelly loam soil, loam soil and silt loam soil, collected from sandy deserts, Gobi deserts, oases, farmlands in steppe regions and steppe areas in north china. The MASDs of various surface soil types exhibit a combination of several log-normal distribu-tions of five separated sizes with mean mass median diame-ters (MMDs) of 90, 2.0, 390, 600 and 980 mm, respectively, and mean standard deviations (SDs) of 1.2., 1.40, 1.2., 1.35 and 1.2. respectively. The log-normal distributions corre-spond to very fine sand, fine sand, medium sand, coarse sand and very coarse sand population. On the basis of characteri-zation of the retrieved MASDs of various surface soil types in north china, dust emission fluxes are modelled by a dust production model (DPM model). It is shown that dust emis-sion has been significantly influenced by MASDs. Fine sand and very fine sand are always associated with the highest dust emission fluxes. Emission fluxes of the medium sand, gravelly sand soil, gravelly loam soil and loam soil are lower than those of very fine sand and fine sand, but larger than those of the coarse sand. The differences in dust emission fluxes vary among the different soil types from 101 to 103 mg·m-2.s-1. Dust emission fluxes from sandy deserts and farmlands covered with sand sheets in north china rang from 101 to 104 mg·m-2.s-1 while those from Gobi deserts, farmlands and steppes with gravelly desertification range from 101 to 102.mg·m-2. s-1. The modelled results indicate that deserts and farmlands with sand are the major dust sources in north china.

Families of Schmidt-number witnesses for high dimensional quantum states

Higher dimensional entangled states demonstrate significant advantages in quantum information processing tasks. The Schmidt number is a quantity of the entanglement dimension of a bipartite state. Here we build families of k-positive maps from the symmetric information complete positive operator-valued measurements and mutually unbiased bases, and we also present the Schmidt number witnesses, correspondingly. At last, based on the witnesses obtained from mutually unbiased bases, we show the distance between a bipartite state and the set of states with a Schmidt number less than k.

Competition of Composition Fluctuation Modes in Weakly Segregated Salt-doped Symmetric Diblock Copolymers

Salt-doped block copolymers have widespread applications in batteries,fuel cells,semiconductors,and various industries,where their properties crucially depend on phase separation ***,investigations into salt-doped diblock copolymers have predominantly focused on microphase separation,overlooking the segregation between ionic and polymeric *** study employs weak segregation theory to explore the interplay between phase separation dominated by the polymer-modulated mode and the salt-out-modulated mode,corresponding to microscopic and macroscopic phase separations,*** comparing diblock copolymers doped with salts to those doped with neutral solvents,we elucidate the significant role of charged species in modulating phase *** phase separation mode exhibits a transition between the polymer-modulated and salt-out-modulated modes at different *** systems doped with neutral solvents,this transition is stepwise,while in salt-ion-doped systems,it is *** a sufficiently large Flory-Huggins parameter between ions and polymers,the salt-out-modulated mode becomes dominant,promoting macrophase *** to the solvation effect of salt ions,salt-doped systems are more inclined to undergo microphase ***,we explore factors influencing the critical wavenumber of phase separation,including doping level and the Flory-Huggins parameters between two blocks and between ions and polymeric *** findings reveal that in a neutral solvent environment,these factors alter only the boundary between micro-and macro-phase separations,leaving the critical wavenumber unchanged in microphase separation ***,in a salt-doped environment,the critical wavenumber of microphase separation varies with these *** provides valuable insights into the pivotal role of electrostatics in the phase separation of salt-doped block copolymers.

Theoretical Design of Defects as a Driving Force for Ion Transport in Li_(3)OBr Solid Electrolyte

Due to ever-increasing concerns about safety issues in using Li ionic batteries,solid electrolytes have extensively *** Li-rich antiperovskite Li_(3)OBr has been considered as a promising solid electrolyte candidate,but it still suffers challenges to achieve a high ionic conductivity owing to the high intrinsic symmetry of the crystal ***,we presented a design strategy that introduces various point defects and grain boundaries to break the high lattice symmetry of Li_(3)OBr crystal,and their effect and microscopic mechanism of promoting the migration of Li-ion were explored *** has been found that Li_(i)are the dominant defects responsible for the fast Li-ion diffusion in bulk Li_(3)OBr and its surface,but they are easily trapped by the grain boundaries,leading to the annihilating of the Frenkel defect pair V'_(Li)+Li_(i),and thus limits the V'_(Li)diffusion at the grain *** V_(Br)defect near the grain boundaries can effectively drive V'_(Li)across the grain boundary,thereby converting the carrier of Li^(+)migration from Li,in the bulk and surface to V'_(Li)at the grain boundary,and thus improving the ionic conductivity in the whole Li_(3)OBr *** work provides a comprehensive insight into the Li^(+)transport and conduction mechanism in the Li_(3)OBr *** opens a new way of improving the conductivity for all-solid-state Li electrolyte material through the defect design.

Stabilization/solidification mechanisms of tin tailings and fuming slag-based geopolymers for different heavy metals

Tin mine tailings(TMT)and fuming slag(FS)contain many heavy metals(As,Cr,Cu,Zn and Mn)that cause severe pollution to the ***,geopolymers were prepared using TMT,FS and flue gas desulfurization gypsum(FGDG)to immobilize heavy metals,and their compressive strength and heavy metal leaching toxicity were *** was first determined that T4F5(TMT:FS=4:5)sample exhibited the highest compressive strength(7.83 MPa).T4F5 achieved 95%immobilization efficiency for As and Cr,and nearly 100%for Cu,Zn and Mn,showing good immobilization performance.A series of characterization analyses showed that heavy metal cations can balance the charge in the geopolymer and replace Al in the geopolymer structure to form covalent *** addition,about 2.–2.%of heavy metal Fe was immobilized in hydration products,heavy metal hydroxides and non-bridging Si–O and Al–O coordination with silica-aluminate ***_(3)^(3−) was oxidized into AsO_(4)^(3−),which may form Ca–As or Fe–As ***_(2.O_(7)^(2.)was converted to CrO_(4)^(2.)under alkaline environment and then combined with OH−to form Cr(OH)3 ***^(2.)may react directly with dissolved silicate to form Mn_(2.SiO_(4) and also form Mn(OH)_(2. *** unstable Mn(OH)_(2. can be further oxidized to MnO_(2..The heavy metal cations were immobilized in the silicoaluminate lattice,while the anions tended to form insoluble *** results may benefit the industry and government for better handling of TMT,FS and solid wastes containing the abovementioned five heavy metals.

Track correlation algorithm based on CNN-LSTM for swarm targets

The rapid development of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) swarm, a new type of aerial threat target, has brought great pressure to the air defense early warning system. At present, most of the track correlation algorithms only use part of the target location, speed, and other information for *** this paper, the artificial neural network method is used to establish the corresponding intelligent track correlation model and method according to the characteristics of swarm ***, a route correlation method based on convolutional neural networks (CNN) and long short-term memory (LSTM)Neural network is designed. In this model, the CNN is used to extract the formation characteristics of UAV swarm and the spatial position characteristics of single UAV track in the formation,while the LSTM is used to extract the time characteristics of UAV swarm. Experimental results show that compared with the traditional algorithms, the algorithm based on CNN-LSTM neural network can make full use of multiple feature information of the target, and has better robustness and accuracy for swarm targets.

Hyperspectral image super resolution using deep internal and self-supervised learning

An improved high-fidelity adaptive model for integrated inlet-engine-nozzle based on mechanismdata fusion

Nowadays,there has been an increasing focus on integrated flight propulsion control and the inlet-exhaust design for the aero-propulsion *** component-level models are inadequate due to installed performance deviations and mismatches between the real engine and the model,failing to meet the accuracy requirements of supersonic *** paper establishes a quasi-one-dimensional model for the inlet-exhaust system and conducts experimental ***,a mechanism-data fusion adaptive modeling scheme using an Extreme Learning Machine based on the Salp Swarm Algorithm(SSA-ELM)is *** study reveals the inlet model’s efficacy in reflecting installed performance,flow matching,and mitigating pressure distortion,while the nozzle model accurately predicts flow coefficients and thrust coefficients,and identifies various operational *** model’s output closely aligns with typical experimental *** combining offline optimization and online adaptive correction,the mechanismdata fusion adaptive model substantially reduces output errors during regular flights and varying levels of degradation,and effectively handles gradual degradation within a single flight ***,the mechanism-data fusion adaptive model holistically addresses total pressure errors within the inlet-exhaust system and normal shock location *** approach significantly curbs performance deviations in supersonic *** example,at Ma=2.0,the system error impressively drops from 34.17%to merely 6.54%,while errors for other flight conditions consistently stay below the 2.95%*** findings underscore the clear superiority of the proposed method.

Three-dimensional porous bimetallic metal–organic framework/gelatin aerogels: A readily recyclable peroxymonosulfate activator for efficient and continuous organic dye removal

As promising catalysts for the degradation of organic pollutants,metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)often face limitations due to the particle agglomeration and challenging recovery in liquid-catalysis application,stemming from their powdery *** macroscopic structures from pulverous MOF is thus of great importance for broadening their practical *** this study,three-dimensional porous MOF aerogel catalysts were successfully fabricated for degrading organic dyes by activating peroxymonosulfate(PMS).MOF/gelatin aerogel(MOF/GA)catalysts were prepared by directly integrating bimetallic FeCo-BDC with gelatin solutions,followed by freeze-drying and low-temperature *** FeCo-BDC-0.15/GA/PMS system exhibited remarkable performance in degrading various organic dyes,eliminating 99.2.of rhodamine B within a mere 5 *** to the GA/PMS system,there was over a 300-fold increase in the reaction rate ***,high removal efficiency was maintained across varying conditions,including different solution pH,co-existing inorganic anions,and natural water *** trapping experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance analysis revealed that the degradation involved radical(SO_(4)^(-)·)and non-radical routes(^(1)O_(2.),of which ^(1)O_(2. was ***,even after a continuous 400-min reaction in a fixed-bed reactor at a liquid hourly space velocity of 2. h^(-1),the FeCo-BDC/GA composite sustained a degradation efficiency exceeding 98.7%.This work presents highly active MOF-gelatin aerogels for dye degradation and expands the potential for their large-scale,continuous treatment application in organic dye wastewater management.

Evaluation of transmission risk of respiratory particles under different ventilation strategies in an elevator

People in elevators are at risk of respiratory infection because the elevator cabin is crowded and has poor *** exhaled particles may be inhaled by the susceptible person,deposited on the surface and suspended in the elevator,which can result in direct and indirect ***,whether the air vent designs adopted in the elevator can effectively reduce the transmission risk of respiratory particles remains *** this study,the dispersion of particles under four common ventilation strategies used in the commercial elevator was investigated by proven computational fluid dynamics(CFD)*** flow field was simulated with the RNG κ-ξ turbulence model and the Lagrangian method was adopted to track particle *** effects of air vent layout and airflow rate on particle transmission were *** found that more than 50% of exhaled particles(average value)were suspended in the cabin and difficult to discharge under the investigated ventilation *** deposited fraction of particles on the susceptible person reached up to 39.14% for infiltration ventilation,which led to a high risk of contact *** the ventilation rate could not significantly reduce the inhalation proportion of particles due to the poor airflow distribution inside the elevator.A more proper ventilation strategy should be explored for the elevator to control transmission risk.
