Fire smoke movement of multi-floor and multi-room (MFMR) fire was studied at the model test building in State Key Laboratory of Fire science (SKLFS). The ingredient, temperature, air pressure difference and air velocity of smoke were measured and analyzed. Meanwhile, the hazard of smoke ingredient to exposed occupants was analyzed based on the national standard, Occupational Exposure Limit for Hazardous Agents in the Workplace (GBZ2.2.02.. The experimental results showed that the maximum temperature difference in MFMR fire was located along the vertical height from the fire source. With the spreading and diffusion of smoke, the temperature of smoke layer would tend to be no difference. In the fire of woodpile and kerosene, the main smoke ingredients such as SO 2., CO and CO 2.would first exceed human’s average physiological limit, while smoke ingredients such as NO and NO 2.would come behind. Because of the higher fluctuation range and frequency of air pressure difference of smoke in multi-layer building fire, the fire smoke would spread around everywhere of the passageway and made the human evacuation more difficult.

The technology of 3D geological modeling will bring about great changes in the methods of geological data acquiring, storing, processing and displaying. However, no perfect or convenient software systems have been developed up to now since the geologic data which re-flect geological entities bear the feature of diversity, uncertainty and complexity. Some supervoxel models, mathematical models of fault and geometrical models of fold have been contrived so as to show the space geometric configuration of the complicated geologic structures. The application-oriented system architecture for 3D geological modeling is established; and a novel design concept based on spatial data processing is also proposed with the technology of solid modeling as its core and the application of models as its objective. Theories and methods for 3D geological modeling will hopefully be enriched and developed. In the light of these theories and methods, a feature-based navigation visualization technique is also put forward in the paper. By integrating geo-database, graphics libraries and KBS with 3D dynamic simulation systems, geologists will be able to capture the partial characteristics and whole structure embodied in the geological data in a direct-viewing, figurative and accurate manner.

To identify ecotypic variation of L. chinensis, the physiological characteristics and environmental factors were measured and assessed for grey-green and yellow-green ecotypes of L. chinensis grown in the salt-alkalized and aeolian sandy soils. Although both ecotypes presented a similar salt-alkaline tolerance under the experimental conditions, they differed in several aspects. The L. chinensis grown in the aeolian sandy soils had higher water potential and chlorophyll content and lower proline content in their leaves than those grown in the salt-alkalized habitat, and the grey-green ecotype of L. chinensis in both types of soils had higher water potential, chlorophyll and proline contents than the yellow-green ecotype. Besides, grey-green ecotypes had higher salt-alkaline tolerance than the yellow-green ecotype. The stepwise regression analysis showed that soil conductance and pH value were the main ecological factors affecting the physiology of L. chinensis. From the natural distribution of the two ecotypes, we considered that salt-alkaline in the soils is the leading factor in determining ecotypic variation of L. chinensis. The two ecotypes were first named grey-green and yellow-green ecotypes respectively.

It is discovered that the natural convection gas has the pendulum characteristic, which leads to the introduction of the new concept of gas pendulum. In this paper, the buoyancy lift of natural convection gas is analyzed in a hermetic chamber, and the relationship between the buoyancy lift and the change of temperature is formulated. The experimental results show that the gas pendulum, similar to the solid pendulum and liquid pendulum, can be utilized to sense the acceleration and the tilt angle.

Effect and mechanism of stresses on rock permeability at different scales

The effect of geo-stress fields on macroscopic hydro-geological conditions or micro-cosmic permeability of water-bearing media should follow some laws or principles. Cases study and tests show that: (1) At macro-geologic large scale, deformed and crashed rocks which were induced by geo-stress fields changing provided space for groundwater storage and flow. Groundwater adjusts water-bearing space and dilatants fractures by flowing and press transferring. Coupling of liquid and solid can be implemented for rocks and groundwater. Although tectonic fields witness several times of change and build-up in geological time, stress fields forming regional tectonic framework are coherent with seepage fields, orientation of the maximum horizontal stress demonstrates main seepage direc-tions. (2. At macro-geologic middle scale, zones of stresses changing sharply, quite low stresses, stress or shear concentration can be used to show locations and types of main fractures, zones of geo-stresses changing equably can be acted as normal base media zones of tri-porosity media. (3) At micro-geologic small scale, tri-porosity media include fractured rocks, porous rocks and capillary rocks. Investigations indicate that porosity or permeability is functions of effective stresses, and po-rosity or permeability changing rules of porous rocks with variation of effective stresses can be de-scribed as the index model, the model of power exponent functions is suitable for those of fractured rocks, the model of the second power parabola for capillary rocks. The porosity and permeability loss in fractured rocks, which are greater than that in porous rocks, are shown by calculation of effective compressive coefficient and closing pressure in cracks. The calculations can also explain the mecha-nism why porosity changes are always larger than permeability changes. Technologies of underground mobile positioning were proposed based on LiDAR data and coded sequence pattern landmarks for mine shafts and tunnels environment to meet the needs of fast and accurate positioning and navigation of equipments in the mine underground without satellite navigation signals. A coded sequence pattern was employed for automatic matching of 3D scans. The methods of SIFT feature, Otsu segmentation and fast hough transformation were described for the identification, positioning and interpretation of the coded sequence patterns, respectively. The POSIT model was presented for speeding up computation of the translation and rotation parameters of LiDAR point data, so as to achieve automatic 3D mapping of mine shafts and tunnels. The moving positioning experiment was applied to evaluating the accuracy of proposed pose estimation method from LiDAR scans and coded sequence pattern landmarks acquired in an indoor environment. The performance was evaluated using ground truth data of the indoor setting so as to measure derivations with six degrees of freedom.

According to the mass action law and the coexistence theory of slagstructure, the calculating models of mass action concentration for CaO-MgO-FeO-Fe_2._3-SiO_2.CaO-MgO-MnO-FeO-Fe_2._3-P_2._5-SiO_2.and CaO-MgO-MnO-FeO-Fe_2._3-Al_2._3-P_2._5-SiO_2.slag melts areformulated and sulphur distribution between the slag melts and liquid iron is treated. It is foundthat CaO, MnO and FeO promote desulphurization, while MgO is detrimental to desulphurization. Inaddition, the sulphur distribution coefficients between the slag melts and liquid iron andpresented.

In order to check the traditional core loss formula, the core loss spectrum P(f) of Co-based amorphous soft magnetic alloy with constant permeability has been studied. It is found that within a high frequency range from 10 kHz to 2.0 kHz and at Bm = 0. 1 T,the P(f) has the fractal structure P (f) = Po, and with the increasing of induced anisotropy energy Ku, the fractal dimension Dfrises, thus the total power loss at high frequency increases and the frequency characteristic of P(f) becomes worse.
