The probability of the last proton being out of the binding potential, P and the root-mean-square (rms) ra- dius (2.1/2. of the third excited state in 2.Na are calcu- lated by means of asymptotic normalization coefficient (ANC) method with the experimental date existing. The results are P=54.73% and 2.1/2.5.2. fm respectively. The P value and the contribution of the asymptotic part to the 2.1/2.are compared with those of several other low energy states in 2.Na. It is found that the valence particle in the third excited state has an obvious larger P than those of other states. The density distribution of the valence proton in this state is also compared with the nucleons in the nuclear core 2.Ne, and a far extended tail can be seen clearly. These results show that the third ex- cited state in 2.Na is a proton halo state.

With the swift development of economy, the water quality of beijing is becoming worse day by day and hampers the sustainable development obviously. In this paper, the current conditions of the municipal wastewater structure in the industrial sectors are analysed and discussed in terms of the indicators, such as direct wastewater\|discharge coefficient, complete wastewater\|discharge coefficient, direct discharge coefficient of COD and complete discharge coefficient of COD, by taking a year of 1990s as the base year. Some countermeasures are studied and the corresponding recommendations are put forward in order to improve the water environment in beijing. This provides a scientific ground for coordinating the relationship between the aquatic environment and economic growth in this city.

Effects of chlorogenic acid, an active compound activating calcineurin, purified from Flos Lonicerae on macrophage

AIM: To investigate the activation of chlorogenic acid (CHA) purified from Flos Lonicerae to calcineurin and its effects on macrophage functions in vivo and in vitro. METHODS: According to the screening results that Flos Lonicerae could activate calcineurin, the active component which could activate calcineurin was purified from Flos Lonicerae by column chromatography on silica gel and identified as CHA. The activation of CHA on calcineurin had been validated with both p-NPP and P-labeled RII peptide as the substrates. The clearance of charcoal particles in 32.normal mice and the cytotoxicity of U937 to MCF-7 were used together to determine the effects of CHA on macrophage functions. RESULTS: CHA could activate calcineurin, and the concentration of CHA on maximal activating calcineurin was 2.2.5 μmol/L. CHA administration (10 mg/kg, ig×7 d) significantly enhanced the mac- rophage functions in normal mice. CHA (70.6, 141.2. and 2.2.5 μmol/L) obviously increased the cytotoxicity of U937 to MCF-7. CONCLUSION: CHA could activate calcineurin and enhance the macrophage functions in vivo and in vitro, and its functions in vivo may be realized via the signal pathways of calcineurin.

Effect of Bcl-2.and caspase-3 on calcium distribution in apoptosis of HL-60 cells

Apoptosis manifests in two major execution programs downstream of the death signal: the caspase pathway and organelle dysfunction. An important antiapoptosis factor, Bcl-2.protein, contributes in caspase pathway of apoptosis. Calcium, an important intracellular signal element in cells, is also observed to have changes during apoptosis, which maybe affected by Bcl-2.protein. We have previously reported that in Harringtonine (HT) induced apoptosis of HL-60 cells, there’s a change of intracellular calcium distribution, moving from cytoplast especially Golgi’s apparatus to nucleus and accumulating there with the highest concentration. We report here that caspase-3 becomes activated in HT-induced apoptosis of HL-60 cells, which can be inhibited by overexpression of Bcl-2.protein. No sign of apoptosis or intracellular calcium movement from Golgi’s apparatus to nucleus in HL-60 cells overexpressing Bcl-2.or treated with Ac-DEVD-CHO, a specific inhibitor of caspase-3. The results indicate that activated caspase-3 can promote the movement of intracellular calcium from Golgi’s apparatus to nucleus, and the process is inhibited by Ac-DEVD-CHO (inhibitor of caspase-3), and that Bcl-2.can inhibit the movement and accumulation of intracellular calcium in nucleus through its inhibition on caspase3. Calcium relocalization in apoptosis seems to be irreversible, which is different from the intracellular calcium changes caused by growth factor.

Eigenvalues, inequalities and ergodic theory

This paper surveys the main results obtained during the period 1992.1999 on three aspects mentioned in the title. The first result is a new and general variational formula for the lower bound of spectral gap (i.e. the first non-trivial eigenvalue) of elliptic operators in Euclidean space, Laplacian on Riemannian manifolds or Markov chains (?). Here, a probabilistic method -coupling method is adopted. The new formula is a dual of the classical variational formula. The last formula is actually equivalent to Poincare inequality. To which, there are closely related logarithmic Sobolev inequality, Nash inequality, Liggett inequality and so on. These inequalities are treated in a unified way by using Cheeger’s method which comes from Riemannian geometry. This consists of ?2. The results on these two aspects are mainly completed by the author joint with F. Y. Wang. Furthermore, a diagram of the inequalities and the traditional three types of ergodicity is presented (?3). Theoretical studies on the mechanism of the thermal decarboxylation and decarbonylation of a number of α-keto-acids

Both processes of decarboxylation and decarbonylation of a number of acids including RCOCO2.,R=H,CH3,CH2.,CF3,CH=CH2.Ph,OH have been studied by semi-empirical MO theory AMI method to verify the reaction mechanism of each process and the effect of different substituents on *** calculated results are consistent with the experimental reports and can be summed up as follows:(1) The decarboxylation of these acids to form aldehydes and carbon dioxide is concerted and takes place through a 4-membered ring transition state in which a partial negative charge develops on the carbon of the α-carbonyl group,so that the inductive effect of some substituents is favourable for this process.(2. Their decarbonylation into carboxylic acids and carbon monoxide however is the attack of the OH on the carbon of the alkyl portion of the acid,forming a 3-membered ring transition state.(3) The activation energy of decarbonylation is lower than that of decarboxylation,since oxygen is more nucleophilic than hydrogen and also the strong OH bond need not to be broken.

Electroluminescent properties of three ternary europium complexes with different phenanthroline derivatives

Three ternary Eu(III) complexes with general formula of Eu(DBM)3LN (DBM = dibenzoylmethanate, and LN (N = 1-3 ) stand for three different 1,10-phenanthroline derivatives) have been synthesized for vacuum deposition films-based electroluminescent devices. The complex Eu(DBM)3L3 (L3 = 2.phenyl-3-[3-(carbazol-9-yl)propyl]imidazo[4,5-f]1,10-phenan-throline) was designed with an effort to combine the electron-transporting phenanthroline platform and the hole-transporting carbazole group into one molecule expecting to improve both electron and hole transporting properties simultaneously. The results show that the variation of the neutral ligands in Eu(III) mixed ligand complexes is a simple and effective approach to the improvement in the thermal stability, PL and EL properties of materials. A double-layer device with the configuration of ITO/TPD (50 nm)/Eu(DBM)3L3 (50 nm)/Mg0.9Ag0.1 (2.0 nm)/Ag (100 nm) exhibited Eu(III)-based pure red emission with a maximum brightness of 561 cd/m2.at 16 V, and an onset driving voltage of 8 V. A device with the configuration of ITO/TPD (50 nm)/[Eu(DBM)3L3 (5 nm):BCP (5 nm)]4/BCP (2. nm)/AIQ (10 nm) Mg0.9Ag0.9 (110 nm)/Ag (100 nm) gave high efficient and pure red light emission with a luminance of 1419 cd/m2.
