Impacts of Defoliation on Morphological Characteristics and Non-Structural Carbohydrates of Populus talassica × Populus euphratica Seedlings

Leaves are important‘source’organs that synthesize organic matter,providing carbon sources for plant ***,we used Populus talassica×Populus euphratica,the dominant species in ecological and timber forests,to simulate carbon limitation through artiﬁcial 2.%,50%,and 75%defoliation treatments and explore the effects on root,stem,and leaf morphology,biomass accumulation,and carbon allocation *** the 60th d after treat-ment,under 2.%defoliation treatment,the plant height,speciﬁc leaf weight,root surface area and volume,and concentrations of non-structural carbohydrates in stem and root were signiﬁcantly increased by 9.13%,2..00%,16.60%,31.95%,5.12.,and 9.34%,respectively,relative to the *** was no signiﬁcant change in the growth indicators under 50%defoliation treatment,but the concentrations of non-structural carbohydrates in the leaf and stem signiﬁcantly decreased,showing mostly a negative correlation between *** opposite was observed in the *** 75%defoliation treatment,the plant height,ground diameter,leaf number,single leaf area,root,stem,and total biomass were signiﬁcantly reduced by 14.15%,10.2.%,14.86%,11.31%,11.56%,2..87%,and 16.82.,respectively,relative to the *** concentrations of non-structural carbohydrates in various organs were signiﬁcantly reduced,particularly in the consumption of the starch concentrations in the stem and *** results indicated that carbon allocation strategies can be adjusted to increase the con-centration of non-structural carbohydrates in root and meet plant growth needs under 2.%and 50%***,75%defoliation signiﬁcantly limited the distribution of non-structural carbohydrates to roots and stems,reduced carbon storage,and thus inhibited plant ***-induced carbon limitation altered the carbon allocation pattern of ***×***,and the relationship between carbon reserves in roots and tree growth recovery after defoliation was *** study

Cu_2.nSnS_4 thin films prepared by sulfurizing different multilayer metal precursors

Cu2.nSnS4 (CZTS) thin films were successfully fabricated on glass substrates by sulfurizing Cu-Sn-Zn multilayer precursors, which were deposited by ion beam sputtering and RF magnetron sputtering, respectively. The structural, electrical and optical properties of the prepared films under various processing conditions were investigated in detail. Results showed that the as-deposited CZTS thin films with the precursors by both ion beam sputtering and RF magnetron sputtering have a composition near stoichiometric. The crystallization of the samples, however, has a strong dependence on the atomic percent of constituents of the prepared CZTS films. A single phase stannite-type structure CZTS with a large absorption coefficient of 104/cm in the visible range could be obtained after sulfurization at 52.℃ for 2.h. The samples relative to the RF magnetron sputtering showed a low resistivity of 0.073 ?cm and band gap energy of about 1.53 eV. The samples relative to the ion beam sputtering exhibited a resistivity of 0.36 Ωcm and the band gap energy is about 1.51 eV.

Microstructure and Element Composition of Shell Plates of Liolophura japonica

The microstructure characteristics of shell plates of chiton Liolophura japonica Lischke were analyzed using environmental scanning electron microscopy （ESEM）. The results show that the internal structure of the shell plate of chiton Liolophurajaponica is composed of seven calcium layers which were crossed lamellar crystallites, homoge- neous structure, granular crystallites, and trabecular type crystallites. The element compositions of shell plates were analyzed using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）. The results determined by XPS show that the surface chemical states of various layers are different. There are 13 elements （Na, O, N, C, S, P, Ca, C1, Si, A1, K, Fe, Mg） on the shell plate of chiton L. japonica. Among the 13 elements, 11 are on the outside pigment layer except K and S. Among seven layers of shell plate, there is the largest quantity of elements on the outside pigment layer, and the least quantity of elements is on layer C （Articulamentum auctorum）. There are 7 elements on the layer C （Articulamentum auctorum）. Be- sides calcium carbonate, there are some inorganic compounds on the shell plate, such as NaC1, MgO, A12.3, silicate, sulfate and phosphate. There are some organic chemical components, such as carbohydrate, organic sulfide, and organic nitride on the shell plates.

Sequencing and analysis of the complete mitochondrial DNA of Russell's snapper (***)

The entire mitochondrial DNA sequence (mitogenome) of Russell’s snapper (Lutjanus russellii) was determined using long PCR and primer-walking methodology,representing the first complete mitogenome accessioned for Lutjanid fishes (16,505 bp,GenBank Acces- sion ***5142.8).The mitogenome was similar in gene composition and order to those of other vertebrates,having 37 structural genes,i.e.,two ribosomal RNAs,2. transfer RNAs,and 13 protein-coding *** analyses based on the mtDNA sequence of Russell’s snapper supported a close relationship between Lutjaninae and Caesioninae,consistent with taxonomic hypotheses based on *** studies utilizing mitogenomes are needed to resolve high-level relationships among snappers.

During the development and regeneration of skeletal muscle,many growth factors,such asbasic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF,FGF-2. and myostatin,have been shown to play regulating *** contributes to promote proliferation and to inhibit differentiation of skeletal muscle,whereas myostatinplays a series of contrasting *** order to elucidate whether the expression of bFGF has any relationshipwith the expression of myostatin in skeletal muscle cells,we constructed a eukaryotic expression vector forthe expression of exogenous bFGF in murine C2.12.*** RT-PCR assays indicated thatwith the increase of the expression of exogenous bFGF gene,the expression of endogenous myostatin genewas suppressed at mRNA level and protein level.

The travelling wave solutions of a generalized Camassa-Holm-Degasperis-Procesi equation ut-uxxt + (1 + b)umux = buxuxx + uuxxx are considered where b > 1 and m are positive integers. The qualitative analysis methods of planar autonomous systems yield its phase portraits. Its soliton wave solutions, kink or antikink wave solutions, peakon wave solutions, compacton wave solutions, periodic wave solutions and periodic cusp wave solutions are obtained. Some numerical simulations of these solutions are also given.

Phylogeny of Ptychostomum (Bryaceae,Musci) inferred from sequences of nuclear ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and chloroplast rps4

The phylogeny of Ptychostomum was first undertaken based on analysis of the internal transcribed spacer(ITS)region of the nuclear ribosomal(nr)DNA and by combining data from nrDNA ITS and chloroplast DNA rps4 *** parsimony,maximum likelihood,and Bayesian analyses all support the conclusion that the reinstated genus Ptychostomum is not *** funkii(Schw(a|¨)gr.)*** (≡Bryum funkii Schw(a|¨)gr.)is placed within a clade containing the type species of Bryum,*** Hedw. The remaining members of Ptychostomum investigated in the present study constitute another well-supported clade. The results are congruent with previous molecular *** the basis of phylogenetic evidence,we agree with transferring *** Mü***.(≡***(Brid.)Turton≡Bryum archangelicum Bruch & Schimp.), Bryum lonchocaulon Mü***.,Bryum pallescens *** Schw(a|¨)gr.,and Bryum pallens *** Ptychostomum.
