Plague,caused by the gram-negative bacterium Yersinia pestis,is a serious and rapidly progressing illness in humans that can be fatal if not treated *** Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is the largest area of natural Himalayan marmot(Marmota himalayana) plague foci in china and covers more than 63.000 *** County in Gansu Province is a part of this natural focus of plague and was chosen as a study *** study used an ecological niche modeling(ENM) approach to predict the potential distribution of the Himalayan *** and Disaster Monitor Satellite(HJ-1) data was used to investigate environment factors that affect plague host animal *** animal point data from active surveillance was combined with environmental variables from the HJ-1 satellite and other databases,and the models of the potential distribution of Himalayan marmot were produced with the Genetic Algorithm for Rule-Set Production(GARP).The probability of marmot presence was divided into 0-5%,5%-2.%,2.%-40%,40%-80%,and 80%-100% *** with 80%-100% probability exhibited the greatest potential for the presence of Himalayan *** to the predicted potential distribution of Himalayan marmot in the study area,active surveillance of plague hosts and plague control and prevention could be more efficient.

Buddleja macrostachya (Buddlejaceae) is a widespread shrub native to the Sino-Himalayan mountains and beyond. It has been found to occur at two ploidy levels, hexaploid, 2.=6x=114 and dodecaploid, 2.=12.=2.8. To determine if morphological characters might be used as indicators of ploidy levels, we measured floral and fruit length, relative and absolute leaf size, trichome density on both leaf surfaces, and stomatal density and length in different populations of B. macrostachya. In general, flower and fruit length, absolute leaf size, and stomatal length increased with an increase at ploidy level (P0.05) in different populations. Other characters studied such as trichome type, cuticular membrane and ornamentation of stomata, cell and stomatal shape, and anticlinal wall pattern were quite constant in this species. Thus it appears that flower and fruit length, absolute leaf size, and stomatal frequency and length can be used to distinguish hexaploid from dodecaploid cytotypes either in the fleld or in herbarium specimens.

High-resolution 13. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectra of different kinds of tectonic coals were obtained using the NMR (CP/MAS+TOSS) method. On the basis of this, after simulation synthesis and division of spectra, the relative contents of carbon functional groups were calculated. Combined with results of Ro, max, XRD testing and element analysis, stress effects on the composition of macromolecular structures in tectonic coals were studied further. The results showed that Ro, max was not only the important index for describing coal rank, but was also effective for estimating the stress effect of tectonic coals. Under tectonic stress ac- tion, Ro, max was the most direct indicator of the coal structure and chemical components. Changes in the stacking Lc of the coal basic structure unit (BSU) and La/Lc parameters could distinguish the temperature and stress effects on metamorphic-deformed environments, and re- flected the degree of structural deformation. Therefore, on the whole, Lc and La/Lc can be used to index of the degree of structural deformation of tectonic coals. In different metamorphic and de- formed environments, different kinds of tectonic coals are formed under structural stress. The changes in characteristics of the macromolecular structure and chemical composition are such that as the increase in structural deformation becomes stronger, from the brittle deformation coal to ductile deformation coal, the ratio of width at the half height of the aromatic carbon and ali- phatic carbon peaks (Hfa/Hfal ) was increased. As carbon aromaticity was raised further, carbon aliphaticity reduced obviously and different compositions of macromolecular structure appeared as a jump and wave pattern except for in wrinkle structure coal, which might result chiefly from stress effects on the macromolecular structure of different kinds of tectonic coals. A detailed petrologic and mineralogic study was carried out on serpentinized peridotites dredged from the southern landward slopes of the Mariana Trench,in order to reveal the serpentinization process of these unusual rocks and to identify the sole presence of the mineral *** constituent minerals of these southern Mariana forearc peridotites are olivine,amphibole and spinel,as well as serpentine,chlorite and *** with serpentinite seamounts,the serpentinized peridotites from the southern Mariana forearc are characterized by the absence of magnetite and brucite,and the common presence of talc;besides,the serpentine mineral variety is simplex,only *** mineral chemistry and mineral phase relationships,we conclude that(1) the absence of magnetite in the serpentinized peridotites is due to incomplete serpentinization,other than magnetite,the iron end-member in olivine forms Ferich brucite and Fe-rich serpentine;(2. brucite is not stable with high silica activity,reacting with later SiO2.rich fluid and then forming lizardite,leading to a lack of brucite in these serpentinized peridotites;(3. the occurrence of talc is the result of later SiO2.rich fluid reactions with lizardite;and(4) the reason for the sole occurrence of lizardite is that the temperature condition of our study are awas nothig henough for the formation of antigorite(whichisstable at >500 °C).Despite the broad overlap of lizardite and chrysotile in growth temperature,differences in the modes of occurrence of lizardite and chrysotile,such as the scarcity of H2.,low porosity and permeability,as well as the actual situation of initial serpentinization in the study area,result in the absolute prevalence of lizardite over chrysotile in the area.

The Paleogene Kalatar Formation is a main target for petroleum ex12. ploration in the southwestern region of the Tarim Basin （SWRTB） and a systematical summary of controls on reservoirs of high quality has important implications for this area. According to outcrop analysis, as well as core, and laboratory experiments based on theories of sedimentology, it can be inferred that the main pore types in the Kalatar Formation are moldic, vuggy, intercrystalline and interparticle pores, fractures, and mudstone microporosity, respectively. The foreshore in the shore-shelf depositional model is the most favorable target, wherein grainstone and dolomitized grainstone are characterized by high quality in a middle ramp subfacies of the carbonate ramp model. Diagenetic factors, such as micritization, cementation, compaction, neomorphism, silicification, and pyritization, are detrimental for reservoirs. At the same time, leaching and dolomitization can improve the quality of reservoirs. Permeability of reservoirs can be greatly improved by fractures, through which quality of reservoirs can be effectively enhanced. Concentration of CO2. temperature, and humidity are affected by changes in climate, which can have an influence on depositional setting, composition and diagenesis of sediments, and eventually the properties of reservoirs. The hot and arid climate of the Paleogene was harmful to development of reservoirs, which is demonstrated in the contemporaneous diagenetic and epigenetic stages. Shallow and deep-burial diagenesis are closely related to the formation and the connate water, however these are rarely affected by paleo-climatic variation. There is possible erosion that mainly resulted from organic acid in relative well intervals according to indications of hydrocarbons in the early diagenetic stage. Fracture systems can be established when acidic fluids are ernplaced during periods of uplift, by which pores can be effectively enlarged during the late diagenetic stages.

This paper presents an efficient way to render large-scale vector maps on level-of-detail(LOD) digital elevation models(DEMs).By using the frame buffer and Voronoi diagram,we achieve a rapid simplification of large-scale vector maps while keeping their original topological *** the simplified maps,we establish level-of-detail vector map *** the detailed level,we use the stencil shadow volume approach to render the map accurately,and in the coarse level we use substitute techniques to render the map approximately yet more *** method proposed in this paper is universally applicable to rendering vector maps on various LOD terrain models,and the overlaying performance is independent of the complexity of underlying terrain *** use of the view frustum culling and sub-region index techniques,the impact of complexity of vector maps is reduced,and the rendering time is restricted to a certain ***,we can achieve seamless and rapid rendering of large-scale vector maps on LOD terrain surfaces.
