The application of nanotechnology in medicine research has significant potential in modern biomedical research,disease diagnosis and *** fluorophore-based detection techniques have been widely used as imaging and signal transduction tools for the detection of trace levels of *** photosensitivity of the fluorophores,however,limits their application in such complex environments as living bio-systems where degradation or photobleaching *** nanoparticles have unique and stable optical,electrical,magnetic and catalytic properties because of their various shapes,sizes and *** potential of the nanoparticles as novel imaging agents has been studied as a possible solution to this *** modification of inorganic nanoparticles could enhance their biostability in physiological conditions and ability of targeting bioactive molecules.

This paper presents a new convenient route to prepare osmafuran starting from readily accessible HC≡C CH(OH)C≡CH and OsHCl(CO)(PPh3)*** of a solution of OsHCl(CO)(PPh3)3 in dichloromethane with HC≡C CH(OH)C≡CH,followed by the addition of acetic acid,produced osmafuran [Os(CHC(PPh3)CO(CH2.H3))Cl(CO)(PPh3)2.Cl(2..2.has been isolated in good yield and fully characterized.1H and 13C NMR spectra show the characteristic downfield chemical shifts of the ring hydrogen and carbon *** and X-ray diffraction data provide strong evidence for the aromatic nature of *** due to the effect of the phosphonium substituent,2.exhibits remarkable thermal stability,air stability and lower reactivity.

In coastal environments, fine-grain sediments often aggregate into large and porous flocs. ElectroMagnetic Current Meters （EMCM） and Laser In Situ Scattering and Transmissometry （LISST-ST） have been deployed within a Spartina alterniflora marsh of the Luoyuan Bay in Fujian Province, china, to measure the current velocity, the floc size and the settling velocity between 15 and 2. January 2.08. During the observations, the near-bed water was collected in order to obtain the suspended sediment concentration （SSC） and constituent grain size. Data show that：（1） the nearbed current velocities vary from 0.1 to 5.6 cm/s in the central Spartina alterniflora marsh and 0.1–12.5 cm/s at the edge; （2. the SSCs vary from 47 to 188 mg/dm 3 . The mean grain size of constituent grains varies from 7.0 to 9.6 μm, and the mean floc sizes （MFS） vary from 30.4 to 69.4 μm. The relationship between the mean floc size and settling velocity can be described as： w s =ad b , in which w s is the floc settling velocity （mm/s）, a and b are coefficients. The floc settling velocity varies from 0.17 to 0.32.mm/s, with a mean value of 0.2. mm/s, and the floc settling velocity during the flood tide is higher than that during the ebb tide. The current velocity and the SSC are the main factors controlling the flocculation processes and the floc settling velocity.

A core-shell Rhodamine B-doped SiO2.nanoparticle was synthesized and its fluorescent intensity was found to be 1000 times higher than that of individual Rhodamine B molecule. The doped nanoparticles were further conjugated with streptavidin and the resulting nanoparticles were used in the detection of reverse-phase protein microarrays, in which human IgG of various concentrations was first immobilized on aldehyde-modified glass slides and then biotinlyated goat anti human IgG as well as the labeled nanoparticles were sequentially conjugated. The calibration curve is linear over the range from 800 fg to 500 pg and the limit of detection is 100 fg, which is 8 times lower than that of streptavidin-labeled Cy3 fluorescent dyes. The dyedoped SiO2.nanoparticles show potentials for the protein array detection.

The structure, spectroscopic properties and chemical stability of [VS4-(CuPPh3)3 (CuCl)Br2. in CDCl3 solution have been studied by multinuclear NMR tech-nique. Two peaks with relative intensity of 1: 4 are found in the31P-{1H} *** 13C-{1H} and 1H NMR peaks have the same integral intensity ratio. These com-plemented the results of 31P-{1H} NMR. The experimental results demonstrates that the PPh3 ligand bound to Cu(6) is not equivalent with the four PPh3 ligands bound toCu(2. ~Cu (5 )- It affords an evidence that the title compound in the solution keepssimilar structure to solid state.

Effect of salinity on the growth,biological activity and secondary metabolites of some marine fungi

The study investigated the effects of salinity on growth, antimicrobial activities and secondary metabolites of 47 marine filamentous fungi isolated from the East china Sea near the western shore of the Taiwan Straits. The results indicate that NaCl promoted the growth up to 91.5% of test strains. However, only 14.9% of them showed a significant increase of antimicrobial activity against Candida albicans. When incubated in different concentrations of NaCl, the colony growth, antimicrobial activities and composition of secondary metabolites of the strain Ty01b-8 of Penicillium sp. varied. Treatment with KCl also showed a similar effect. An alkaloid isolated from the fermentation broth of Ty01b-8 was identified as chrysogine, inhibition activity of which against Hela cells was 15.05% at 2.μg/ml, and yield was 4.4 and 4.9 times higher in 3 percent and 6 percent NaCl treatments, respectively, compared with the non-salt culture condition. These findings prove that salinity is an important factor influencing growth and secondary metabolites of some marine fungi, which can be used to screen for new metabolites from marine fungi, and to enhance their metabolites production in industrial fermentation.

The abundance and temporal patterns of viable diatom resting stage cells in sediments of the East china Sea in 2.06 have been *** abundance of viable resting stages was enumerated with the most probable number（MPN） ***,2. diatom species（including varieties） belonging to 16 genera were *** resting stage cells were common,on the order of 103 to 106 cells/g dry *** abundant taxa included Skeletonema marina,***,Chaetoceros curvisetus and Thalassiosira spp.,with Skeletonema accounting for 83.3% of the *** effects of temperature（10,15,2.,2. ℃）,salinity（2.,2.,30,35 psu） and light intensity（0,300,4 000,8 000 lux） on the germination of resting stages in sediment samples were also *** results showed that light intensity had a significant positive effect on the germination of diatom resting stage cells（p 〈0.01） and that diatoms could not germinate in *** and salinity had no noticeable effects on the *** present study suggests that there are abundant diatom resting cells in sediments of the East china Sea,which could serve as a ＂seed bank＂ in the phytoplankton population succession and contribute to the initiation of algal blooms.
