Now he is associate research professor of the National Geological Museum of{2. and engaged in the study of Precambrian stratigraphy and palaeontology.

This paper gives a summary of the fossil data from the Sinian Doushantuo' an Lantian Formation in the Xiuning area, Anhui Province, china, and reports the genital butt structure comparable to that of some modern advanced algae and the fossil structure comparable to the dehiscence of sporangia as well as the ontogenetic phenomenon occurring possibly from the formation of embryos by zygote germination to the production of sessile benthonic algal adults. This phenomenon furnishes a useful clue to the further study of the life history of alternate generations in advanced algae and provides megafossil evidence for the sex differentiation of metaphytic algae.

V-system,a new class of complete orthogonal system in L 2.[0,1],is the generalization of the well-known Haar system and consists of not only smooth functions but also discontinuous functions at ***,the Vsystem can be applied to represent the information with both continuous and discontinuous signals,which is fundamentally different from that of Fourier orthogonal *** this paper,we first describe the multiresolution property of the V-system,then point out that a graphics group can be reconstructed precisely by finite terms of the V-series,finally discuss the classification and recognition of graphics groups using the *** shows from the experiments that the V-system can be applied to the fields of reconstruction of graphics group and pattern recognition.

Several spiral groove gas film face seals (SGFS) with different layouts are compared quantitatively to analyze their merits and faults and application behaviors. In addition, a parametric study on downstream mode SGFS is conducted to determine its optimal parameters under certain working conditions. In tne computation of gas film pressure on the face, finite element method (FEM) is applied to adapt to complicated geometrical boundary.

By using the Taylor expansions of the solutions of Jacobi equations, we obtain the complete formulas for the volumes of tubes about curves in a Riemanuian manifold. This unifies the known results and simplifies the computations involved in this direction. In the special case of surfaces, we also obtain the corresponding complete formulas which generalize the known results.

A numerical simulation analysis for reactions of chalcopyrite and pyriteparticles coupled with momentum, heat and mass transfer between the particle and gas in a flashsmelting furnace is presented. In the simulation, the equations governing the gas flow are solvednumerically by Eular method. The particle phase is introduced into the gas flow by theparti-cle-source-in-cell technique (PSIC). Predictions including the fluid flow field, temperaturefield, concentration field of gas phase and the tracks of particles have been obtained by thenumerical simulation. The visualized results show that the reaction of sulfide particles is almostcompleted in the upper zone of the shaft within 1.5 m far from the central jet distributor (CJD)type concentrate burner. The simulation results are in good agreement with data obtained from aseries of experiments and tests in the plant and the error is less than 2..

To study the feasibility of treated water being used as rinsing water with CP/ED (chemical precipitation/ electrodialysis) system, the relation between concentration of Cr (Ⅵ) and conductivity of water is investigated, the effect of electrodialysis (ED) for different wastewater is also studied. And several parameters of importance that are relevant to the process are identified. Analysis of ICP (Inductively coupled plasma) and IC (Ion chromatography) shows that the main reason of conductivity increase in CP treated water is the increase of Na+ and Cl- ions. The 93.8%-100% of ions from wastewater both in ED and CP/ED systems was removed successfully. The results of experiments indicate that the CP/ED system is a feasible method for electroplating wastewater treatment, the CP/ED system used as a way of wastwater is not only in favour of environment, but also economic beneficial to achieve.
