＜正＞Objective It is well known that the lateral hypothalamus（LH） plays a critical role in regulating food intake and body *** LH is a part of neural system involved in the central evaluation of gustatory inputs,*** aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of LH on taste preference and taste acceptance in *** Taste preferences were determined in rats with bilateral electrolytic LH lesions and in sham-lesioned rats by a two-bottle choice test,and taste acceptance by a one-bottle *** two-bottle choice test,the response to a range of concentrations of four basic tastants was observed in ***-water,citric acid（CA）-water,quinine HCl（QHCl）-water and saccharin-water choice tests were conducted between water and one of the following five concentrations（0.01,0.03,0.1,0.3 and 1.0 mol/L NaC1;0.01,0.1,1.0,10,100 mmol/L CA;5,10,2.,50,100μmol/L QHC1;0.3,2.5,7.5,2.,50 mmol/L saccharin）,*** choice test took place each day at 08:30 am and lasted 1 *** other periods for drinking water beginning at 18:30 pm lasting 2.*** one-bottle test rats access to 0.9 mmol/L and 7.5 mmol/L saccharin for 10 *** daily session consisted of 10 min access to the appropriate saccharin solution and took place between 08:30 and 08:40 *** The lesioned rats exhibited a lower preference for NaCl,C A and QHC1 solutions,but they exhibited higher preference for saccharin at 2. and 50 mmol/L *** discrimination of adjacent concentrations of NaC1 and saccharin solutions decreased in the LH-lesioned *** one-bottle tests,LH-lesioned rats consumed less volumes of the 0.9 mmol/L saccharin solution as compared with sham *** LH plays an important role in feeding behavior via involving taste preference and acceptance.

Tilted global solar irradiance in Bahrain:an experimental study

In the present work,tilted global solar irradiance data are presented and analysed,measured for a period of 1 year on the campus of Bahrain polytechnic,Kingdom of Bahrain,from both a fixed photovoltaic panel and a moving one via a two-axis solar *** fixed panel faces south with an angle of 2.°with respect to the horizontal,coinciding with the local geographical *** second panel is moved by two motors,controlled by a global positioning system and suitable software so that the sun’s rays are perpendicular to the panel surface.A pyranometer is installed on each panel,recording the tilted global solar irradiance,stored by using a data *** analysis of the data obtained shows a 33%solar energy gain on an annual basis for the moving panel(2.80 versus 2.88 kWh/m^(2. on the fixed panel).More importantly,in June,when the energy demand in Bahrain is elevated due to the increased residential cooling loads,the solar energy received by the moving panel is 54.7%higher compared with that of the fixed *** a percentage basis,the increase in solar energy from the moving panel is profound in the early morning and late evening ***,the reduction in the solar energy received by the fixed panel from May to June does not appear in the moving panel because of the adjustable orientation of the *** the year,the mean daily solar power varies between 0.37 and 0.56 kW/m^(2. for the fixed panel,and 0.45 and 0.70 kW/m^(2. for the moving *** winter,solar energy fluctuations are elevated due to erratic weather conditions that present a peak standard deviation of 2.%of the corresponding *** data presented are useful for potential solar investments in Gulf countries.

This paper presents rare earth element(REE) geochemistry of siliceous deposits from which hydrothermal activity and basin evolution are elucidated,in the Late Devonian,in the Yangshuo basin,south China,where siliceous deposits widely occurred as nodular chert in the deep-water limestones and bedded chert interbeded with tuffaceous chert in the early Late *** nodular and bedded cherts are characterized by very low La abundances(avg. 2.07 and 2.49 ppm,respectively),intermediate negative Ce anomalies(Ce/Ce*:avg.0.69 and 0.61),slight to intermediate positive Eu anomalies(Eu/Eu*:avg.1.33 and 1.57),and low to intermediate shale-normalized La/Yb values(avg.0.86 and 0.52. and intermediate La/Ce values(avg.1.61 and 1.72..These suggest both nodular and bedded cherts formed in the open marine basin of south China,rather than in the intracontinental rift basin as previously assumed, with involvement both with seawaters as indicated by intermediate negative Ce anomalies and generally LREE-depleted patterns,and hydrothermal vent fluids as indicated by convex,less LREE-depleted patterns with apparent positive Eu *** comparison with nodular and bedded chert,the tuffaceous chert has the highest La abundances(avg.17.11 ppm),similar ranges of Ce anomalies(avg.0.63) and La/Ce values(avg.1.77),but lower La/Yb values(avg.0.48) and no apparent positive Eu anomalies(avg.0.97).This suggests that the tuffaceous fallouts were also significantly modified by the hydrothermal fluid and *** spatial variations of Eu/Eu* values and degree of LREE-depletions in the studied basin are recognized,characterizing a spatially differential hydothermal activity that is not well discriminated by major element *** a difference in hydrothermal activity is interpreted as having been related to the intensity and depth of syndepositional tectonic activity,reconciling the structural pattern unraveled by stratigraphic packages.

＜正＞Taxonomic studies on Trametes in China were carried out recently,after examining over 800 specimens,2. species were found in the country,including two new species and four new Chinese records. Trametes cystidiolophora *** *** ***.,were both described from Yunnan Province, southwest ***,***,***,and *** were reported as new to the Chinese fungal *** of the Chinese species in Trametes with its related genera Coriolopsis,Funalia,Lenzites and Pycnoporus was studied based on the ITs sequences of nuclear ribosomal *** results showed that Trametes is not a monophyletic group,and it formed three clades clustered with its related genera.

The phase-shift-plus-interpolation and extended-split-step-Fourier methods are wavefield-continuation algorithms for seismic migration *** two methods can be applied to regions with complex geological *** on their unified separable formulas,we show that these two methods have the same kinematic characteristics by using the theory of pseudodifferential *** tests on a Marmousi model demonstrate this *** important aspect of these two methods is the selection of reference velocities and we explore the influence of the selection of reference velocities by comparing the geometric progression method and the statistical *** show that the geometric progression method is simple but does not take into account the velocity distribution while the statistical approach is relatively complex but reflects the velocity distribution.

＜正＞Causal relation analysis is a promising application in product quality tracking and *** the quality safety problems in China beef production, the causal relation analysis was introduced into the beef quality safety tracing system and a causal approach-based tracing method was proposed. Considering the implicity,complexity and dynamic characteristics in beef quality safety causal relations, based on its mechanisms,a beef quality safety event representation method was studied based on the extended spanning tree *** the detection algorithm was developed based on an improved minimum spanning tree *** consideration of the time relations,hierarchical relations and causal relation between the beef quality safety events,an approach was proposed for the output of hierarchy view and solution of the causal tracing problems. Finally,through the investigation in the beef production manufactures,the proposed method got sound validation.

Three different sensor structures are studied under experiment *** sensing prop- erties are tested and compared from the following aspects:the sensing range along the axial direction, the negative sensing areas along the axial direction, the symmetry of the sensing field distribution,and the absolute change amount of the sensor capaci- *** sensor structure with axial driven guards has the widest sensing range along axial direction and asymmetric sensing field distribution on the cross-section;the sensor structure with earthed axial guard rings has the smallest absolute change amount of *** results are concordant with the three-dimensional simulation analyses.

AN INFORMATION THEORETICAL APPROACH TO NEURAL NETWORKs

The purpose of this paper is to present a unified theory of several differentneural networks that have been proposed for solving various computation, pattern recog-nition, imaging, optimization, and other problems. The functioning of these networks ischaracterized by Lyapunov energy functions. The relationship between the deterministicand stochastic neural networks is examined. The simulated annealing methods for findingthe global optimum of an objective function as well as their generalization by injectingnoise into deterministic neural networks are discussed. A statistical interpretation of thedynamic evolution of the different neural networks is presented. The problem of trainingdifferent neural networks is investigated in this general framework. It is shown how thisapproach can be used not only for analyzing various neural networks, but also for the choiceof the proper neural network for solving any given problem and the design of a trainingalgorithm for the particular neural network.

Background sustainable strategies for enteric methane(CH_(4))mitigation of dairy cows have been extensively explored to improve production performance and alleviate environmental *** present study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary xylooligosaccharides(XOs)and exogenous enzyme(EXE)supplementation on milk production,nutrient digestibility,enteric CH_(4) emissions,energy utilization efficiency of lactating Jersey dairy ***-eight lactating cows were randomly assigned to one of 4 treatments:(1)control diet(CON),(2.CON with 2. g/d XOs(XOs),(3)CON with 15 g/d EXE(EXE),and(4)CON with 2. g/d XOs and 15 g/d EXE(XOs+EXE).The 60-d experimental period consisted of a 14-d adaptation period and a 46-d sampling *** enteric CO_(2.and CH_(4) emissions and O2.consumption were measured using two GreenFeed units,which were further used to determine the energy utilization efficiency of *** Compared with CON,cows fed XOs,EXE or XOs+EXE significantly(Psed milk yield,true protein and fat concentration,and energy-corrected milk yield(ECM)/DM intake,which could be reflected by the significant improvement(Psults showed that dietary supplementation of XOs,EXE or XOs+EXE significantly(Pssion,CH_(4)/milk yield,and CH_(4)/***,cows fed XOs demonstrated highest(Pst(Ps a proportion of gross energy intake compared with the remaining *** Dietary supplementary of XOs,EXE or combination of XOs and EXE contributed to the improvement of lactation performance,nutrient digestibility,and energy utilization efficiency,as well as reduction of enteric CH_(4) emissions of lactating Jersey *** promising mitigation method may need further research to validate its long-term effect and mode of action for dairy cows.

Nonlinear excitation controller design for power systems:an I&I approach

The Immersion and Invariance （I＆I） methodology provides a novel approach for nonlinear system control, which is distinct from the traditional feedback linearization and backstepping method. In this paper, a new excitation controller is designed for single machine infinite bus system （sMIBs） based on the I＆I approach. Firstly the dynamic model of sMIBs is homeomorphously transformed to a specific form for which a stable lower-order target system is selected. Then the I＆I excitation controller is designed by immersing the transformed system into the target system. simulation results from PsCAD/EMTDC demonstrate that the proposed controller guarantees transient stability of the system after large disturbances.
