IN this letter we discuss the necessary and sufficient condition of C^0 flows on closed surfaces with isolated singular points having the pseudo-orbit tracing property. According to ref. [1], on a closed surface, every minimal set of a C^r(r≥2. flow is trivial, but it is possible for a C^0 flow to contain non-trivial minimal sets. Thus C^0 flows on closed surfaces are more complicated than C^r(r≥2. flows.

BACKGROUND: Myasthenia gravis (MG) is considered as a peripheral neuromuscular disorder. Some investigations demonstrate that MG affects central nervous system (CNS), and there are disorders in cognitive function, affection, sleep, mental status and others; however, there are also some different standpoints. Some questions are still disputed, such as whether or not MG exists in the CNS and cognitive function is impaired. DATA SOURCES: Using the terms of 'myasthenia gravis, neuropsychological test, memory, central, brain, cognitive dysfunction and so on', we searched the Medline database for the articles about CNS involved in MG, nerve and neuropsychology as well as cognitive function, which were published in the English language between January 1985 and December 2.04. Meanwhile, we also searched CNKI database by inputting 'myasthenia gravis, neuropsychology and cognitive function' in Chinese for articles about involved neuropsychology and cognitive function which were published between October 1995 and June 2.06 in the Chinese language. STUDY SELECTION: Data were checked in the first trial, and articles about the influences of MG on CNS, neuropsychology, cognitive function and central cholinergic function were selected, then those were obviously unrelated with above criteria were excluded. Articles which expound the influences of MG on neuropsychology and cognitive were included, but those with repeated contents were also excluded. DATA EXTRACTION: A total of 89 related English articles and 3. Chinese articles were collected, including 43.studies on involved CNS and 3.0}studies on involved central cholinergic function and cholinergic receptor. Sixty-three literatures were about neuropsychology and cognitive function, which were closely related with this article. Seventy-two articles met inclusive criteria and 66 were excluded. SrGa-2.-4∶Ce blue TFEL device with a novel structure was prepared by electron beam evaporation. The dielectric constant of insulator layer in this structure is far less than that in the conventional structure, so the hot-electrons can be accelerated in SiO-2.layers. The stable TFEL with good chromaticity was achieved and the basic characteristics were investigated.

Electron transfer through the self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on gold nanopar-ticles is investigated by using the monolayer protected gold nanoclusters (MPCs) as elec-tron-transfer mediators. 3.Mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) and 11-meraptoundecanoic acid (MUA) MPCs were employed to catalyze the redox reaction between potassium ferricyanide and sodium thiosulfate. The catalytic mechanism was proposed that the MPCs act as diffusing elec-tron-mediators and electron transfers to and from the MPCs surface. Therefore the electron transfer rate through the capping layers would be proportional to the MPCs catalyzed reaction rate, which was monitored by the UV absorbance of ferricyanide. The calculated apparent rate constant was orders of magnitude smaller than that of the maximum of tunneling current, which was attributed to the splited energy level of the nanoscale particles.

The chemical composition of sedimentary rocks is mainly controlled by source rocks. Through examining chemical composition of terrigenous rocks, the tectonic evolution of a sedimentary basin can be modeled. The Turpan Basin belongs to a continental sedimentary basin and its source rocks are derived from the upper continental crust.

In this paper, firstly, the proper function space is chosen, and the proper expression of the operators is introduced such that the complex large-scale atmospheric motion equations can be described by a simple and abstract equation, by which the definition of the weak solution of the atmospheric equations is made. Secondly, the existence of the weak solution for the atmospheric equations and the steady state equations is proved by using the Galerkin method. The existence of the non-empty global attractors for the atmospheric equations in the sense of the Chepyzhov-Vishik’s definition is obtained by constructing a trajectory attractor set of the atmospheric motion equations. The result obtained here is the foundation for studying the topological structure and the dynamical behavior of the atmosphere attractors. Moreover, the methods used here are also valid for studying the other atmospheric motion models.

A molecular dynamics simulation study has been performed for a large systemconsisting of 100000 liquid metal Al atoms to investigate the formation and magic numbercharacteristics of the cluster configurations formed during the rapid solidification processes. Thecluster-type index method (CTIM) has been adopted to describe various types of clusterconfigurations. The results indicate that the icosahedral clusters (12.0 12.0) and theircombinations play the most important role in the rnicrostructure transitions during solidificationprocesses; for the cluster configurations of different levels formed by various combinations withdiffering numbers of basic clusters, their size distributions possess obvious magic number sequencewhich is in turn as 13.13., 19(2.), 2.-2.(2.), 3.0}3.(3.0}, 3.-40, 43.44, 48..., (those in bracket arethe corresponding value in liquid state); the magic numbers correspond to the peak value positionsof the cluster numbers for corresponding level formed with various combinations by 1, 2. 3. 4, 5, 6,7, ...basic clusters, respectively. This magic number sequence is in good agreement with theexperimental results obtained by Harris et al. At the same time, this simulation study also gives ascientific and reasonable explanation to these experimental results.

By using the variational method and anneal simulation, we study in this paper the self-trapped magnetic polaron (STMP) in two-dimensional anti-ferromagnetic material and the bound magnetic polaron (BMP) in ferromagnetic material. Schwinger angular momentum theory is applied to changing the problem into a coupling problem of carriers and two types of Bosons. Our calculation shows that there are single-peak and multi-peak structures in the two-dimensional STMP. For the ferromagnetic material, the properties of the two-dimensional BMP are almost the same as that in one-dimensional case; but for the anti-ferromagnetic material, the two-dimensional STMP structure is much richer than the one-dimensional case.
