The formulas of the energy gap and superconducting critical temperature appropriate for systems with both odd and even number of electrons are derived; the bases of the derivations are BCS theory and energy level statistics. Numerical results qualitatively agree with the experimental phenomena. i.e., the superconductivity of small metallic grains will first enhance then decrease to zero when the grain are getting smaller and smaller. The calculations indicate that the above phenomena happen in the metallic grains belonging to Gaussian Orthogonal Ensemble (GOE) and Gaussian Unitary ensemble (GUE) with zero spin; The superconductivity of small metallic grains in Gaussian Symplectic Ensemble (GSE) will monotonically decrease to zero with the decreasing of the grain size. The analyses suggest that the superconductivity enhancements come from pairing and the balance of the strengths between spin-orbital coupling and external magnetic field. In order to take the latter into account, it is necessary to include the level statistics given by Random Matrix Theory (RMT) in describing small metallic grains.

The integration of methanogenesis with denitrification and anaerobic ammonium oxidation(ANAMMOX) was studied in an expanded granular sludge bed(EGSB) reactor in this work. Experimental results from the continuous treatment of wastewater with nitrite and ammonium, which lasted for 1.7 days, demonstrated that wastewater with high nitrite and ammonium could be anaerobically treated in an expanded granular sludge bed reactor. More than 91. to 97% of COD were removed at up to about 3.9 g COD/(L·d) of COD volumetric loading rate. More than 97% to 1.0% of nitrite was denitrified at up to about 0.8 g NO -_2.N/(L·d), which is 1. times higher than that in a conventional activated sludge system with nitrification/denitrification(0.05 gN/(L·d)). No dissimilatory reduction of nitrite to ammonium occurred in the process. However, maximum of about 40% ammonium was found to be lost. Batch tests of 1. days with sludge from the reactor showed that 1.0% of nitrite was denitrified completely, and about 3% of ammonium was removed when only ammonium (34.3 mg/L) and nitrite(34.3 mg/L) were added into the sludge suspension medium. Furthermore, about 1.% of ammonium amounts were lost with organic COD addition. It suggested that the methanogenesis in the system could enhance ANAMMOX because of intermediate hydrogen produced during methanogenesis.

Using the time-dependent perturbation theory and the calculation formula of the single- and double-pulse absorption spectra of the atom in strong external fields, we calculate the single- and double-pulse absorption spectra of Li atom in strong magnetic field for different pulse widths. The results show that a pulse of some width can reduce the contribution of the short period closed orbits and eliminate the contribution of the long period orbits. Compared with the single-pulse absorption spectra, we found that for some phase differences, the double-pulse laser absorption spectra are strengthened; while for others, they are reduced. Therefore, we can use the pulse laser to control the oscillation of the absorption spectra and obtain the optimization object.

The quasi-one-dimensional nonlinear monoatomic lattice is analyzed. The kink-soliton and antikink-soliton are presented. When the interaction of the lattice is strong in the x-direction and weak in the y-direction, the two-dimensional (2.) lattice changes to a quasi-one-dimensional lattice. Taking nearest-neighbor interaction into account, the vibration equation can be transformed into the KPI, KPII and MKP equation. Considering the cubic nonlinear potential of the vibration in the lattice, the kink-soliton solution is presented. Considering the quartic nonlinear potential and the cubic interaction potential, the kink-soliton and antikink-soliton solutions are presented.

In this paper, firstly, the proper function space is chosen, and the proper expression of the operators is introduced such that the complex large-scale atmospheric motion equations can be described by a simple and abstract equation, by which the definition of the weak solution of the atmospheric equations is made. Secondly, the existence of the weak solution for the atmospheric equations and the steady state equations is proved by using the Galerkin method. The existence of the non-empty global attractors for the atmospheric equations in the sense of the Chepyzhov-Vishik’s definition is obtained by constructing a trajectory attractor set of the atmospheric motion equations. The result obtained here is the foundation for studying the topological structure and the dynamical behavior of the atmosphere attractors. Moreover, the methods used here are also valid for studying the other atmospheric motion models.

A novel type of microcavity organic light-emitting diode based on a porous silicon distributed Bragg reflector (PS-DBR) has first been achieved and its microstructure, optical, and electrical properties have also been investigated in detail. The microcavity is made up of the central active organic multilayer sandwiched between a top silver film and a bottom PS-DBR, formed by electrochemical etching of p++-Si substrate. The field- emission scanning electron microscopy cross-section images show the nanometer-scale layered structure and flat interfaces inside the microcavity. The reflectivity (relative to an Al mirror) of the PS-DBR is up to 99%, and the stopband is about 1.0 nm wide. Resonant cavity mode appears as a tip in the reflectivity spectrum of the Si-based organic multilayer films, which is a symbol that the Si-based organic multilayer structure is indeed a microcavity. The peak widths of the electroluminescence (EL) spectra from the cavities emitting green and red light are greatly reduced from 85 nm and 70 nm to 8 nm and 1.0}nm, respectively, as compared with those measured from non-cavity structures. Note that the EL emission from the cavity devices is single-mode, and the off-resonant optical modes are highly suppressed. Moreover, increases of a factor of about 6 and 4 of the resonant peak intensity from the cavities emitting green and red light are also observed, respectively. In addition, the current-brightness-voltage characteristics and effect parameters on the lifetime of the cavity devices are also discussed. The present technique for obtaining enhanced EL emission from Si-based organic microcavity may also be another novel effective method for realizing Si-based optoelectronics device integration.

Ecological Footprint and Ecological Security Evaluation in the Upper Min River Basin

On the basis of the ecological footprint (EF) model, this paper studied theecological security in the Upper Min River Basin ecosystem. The result shows that with 2. 038 2.hm^2.er capita ecological capacity (0. 42. 2.hm^2.higher than per capita EF) ,and 1.5 82. hm^2.ecologysurplus , the ecosystem in Upper Min River is generally secure at present. But the arable land isoverweighed and omens an eco-security crisis. Meanwhile, problems such as low forest coverage rate,severe loss of water and soil,enlargement of arid-valley area, frequent occurrence of mountainhazards and degradation of pastures have been major threats to the eco-security of this region. Thecalculation result of ten-thousand-yuan ( RMB) GDP shows that the use of natural resources isextensive, and there will be a rapid increase tendency of EF in the future. In order to maintain thepresent eco-security, the ways of use natural resources must be improved in the Upper Min RiverBasin.

The thermal decomposition mechanisms of azoisobutyronitrile (AIBN) in the ground state have been investigated systematically. Based on the potential energy surfaces (PES) of various possible dissociation paths obtained using the semiempirical AM1.method with partial optimization, the density function theory B3LYP/6-31.G* method was employed to optimize the geometric parameters of the reactants, the intermediates, the products and the transition states, which were further confirmed by the vibrational analysis. The obtained results show that the re- action process of the two-bond (three-body) simultaneous cleavage Me2.CN)C─ N=N─ C(CN)Me2. 2.e2.CN)C?+N2.is much more favorable than the reaction process of the two one- bond asynchronous cleavage Me2.CN)CN=N─C(CN)Me2.? Me2.CN)CN=N?+ Me2.CN)C?? Me2.CN)C?+ N2. It was suggested that the electron shrinking effect of double bond (─N=N─) in AIBN and the stabilities of the Me2.CN)C?radical as well as N2.molecule are main factors of leading to the reaction proceeding in the former pathway. The calculation results were consistent with all the experimental facts.

By employing a model potential including the electron exchange energy, we extend the semiclassical closed orbit theory to study the multielectron atoms. Using special region-splitting consistent and iterative method, we figure out the closed orbits in the corresponding classical system and calculate the recurrence spectra of triplet helium atoms in parallel electric and magnetic fields at scaled energy ε=?0.03,n≈40,n=0. The core-scattering effects have been taken into account, which lead to more peaks in the spectra. It has also been confirmed by means of the direct comparison between the spectral portrait in such a plot and those of hydrogen case. In order to compare the theoretic results with experiment, we investigate the closed orbits and recurrence spectra of helium atoms for the similar exchange potential but applied only by single electric field at scaled energy ε=?2.7 case. The spectra are in good agreement with the experimental observation. We conclude that our model is correct and it is necessary to consider the exchange effect for determining the photoabsorption spectra of multielectron atoms in strong external fields.
