An algorithm is presented for raising an approximation order of any given orthogonal multiscaling function with the dilation factor a. Let φ(x) = [φ1.x),φ2.x),…,φr(x)]T be an orthogonal multiscaling function with the dilation factor a and the approximation order m. We can construct a new orthogonal multiscaling function φnew(x) = [ φT(x). f3r+1.x),φr+2.x),…,φr+s(x)}T with the approximation order m + L(L ∈ Z+). In other words, we raise the approximation order of multiscaling function φ(x) by increasing its multiplicity. In addition, we discuss an especial setting. That is, if given an orthogonal multiscaling function φ(x) = [φ1.(x), φ2.x), …, φr(x)]T is symmetric, then the new orthogonal multiscaling function φnew(x) not only raise the approximation order but also preserve symmetry. Finally, some examples are given.

Let G be a finite group, p the smallest prime dividing the order of G and P a Sylow p-subgroup of G. If d is the smallest generator number of P, then there exist maximal subgroups P1. P2...., Pd of P, denoted by Md（P） = {P1....,Pd}, such that di=1.Pi = Φ（P）, the Frattini subgroup of P. In this paper, we will show that if each member of some fixed Md（P） is either p-cover-avoid or S-quasinormally embedded in G, then G is p-nilpotent. As applications, some further results are obtained.

Study on lithogeochemistry of Middle Jurassic basalts from southern China represented by the Fankeng basalts from Yongding of Fujian Province

There exists an E-W trending Middle Jurassic volcanic zone in southern China. The Fankeng basalts in the Yongding basin of Fujian Province are considered to be a typical example. The Fankeng basalts have TiO2.contents in the range of 1.92.-3.2.%. They are classified as high-Ti basalts. They also have higher total Fe (averaging FeO* = 1..09%). The Middle Jurassic Fankeng basalts from southwestern Fujian have obvious distinctive lithogeochemical features from early Cre- taceous basalts from southeastern coast of China. They have higher HFSE, such as Th, Nb, Ta, Zr and Ti. Their element ratios related with HFSE, such as Zr/Ba, La/Nb, La/Ta ,Zr/Y, Ti/Y, Ba/Nb, K/Ti and Rb/Zr are similar to those of OIB. The most samples have ε Nd(T) of-0.70-0.2., which are near chondrite. Some samples have higher ε Nd(T) of ***, these basaltic magmas might be derived from depleted asthenospheric mantle. The lithogeochemical characteristics of the Fankeng basalts may be caused by interaction between asthenosphere and lithosphere at the time. The (Early-) Middle Jurassic basalts and gabbros from southeastern Hunan, southern Jiangxi and northern guangdong provinces show similar geochemical features to those of the Fankeng basalts from the Yongding of Fujian. Occurrence of these OIB-type basalts in the area may be regarded as the petrological mark of upwelling of asthenosphere at the time. Upwelling of asthenosphere has led to tectonic extension and the formation of rifted basin in the area.

This work studied the transcriptional patterns of three antibacterial genes,attacin,defensin and cecropin,during the development of Musca domestica. Quantitative analysis by real-time PCR was performed on mRNA levels in different development stages and challenged 3rd-instar larva at different time points after challenge of Musca domestica. The results revealed a predominance of the transcripts of all three genes during the 3rd-instar larvae and the adults. In the meanwhile,it revealed the greatest increase in mRNA. The transcript levels increased to 801.times,1.09 times and 2.00 times respectively for cecropin,attacin and defensin in 3rd-instar larvae after challenging susceptible bacterium. The results suggested that the transcriptional patterns of Musca domestica antibacterial genes were different during the different growth stages as well as the microbial challenge encountered in 3rd-instar larvae.
