This paper takes poverty-stricken countyas the basic unit, and selects net income per peasantto study the poverty status in hebei Province during1986~*** and spatial changes of poverty-stricken areas are analyzed. The result shows thatpoverty-stricken areas in hebei Province distributedconcentratedly and the areas decreased during1986~2.00, the net income per peasant was on therise with an increasing speed in off-poverty countiesbeing slightly higher than that in poverty-strickencounties, but the growth rate was extremely unstable,rising slowly in off-poverty counties while droppingin poverty-stricken counties. The main driving forcesthat influenced temporal and spatial changes wereeconomic development of the whole province,ecological environment quality, infrastructureconditions and radiation of the key city. On thisbasis, some anti-poverty countermeasures suitable tolocal conditions are proposed.

Influences of α-MnO2. β-MnO2. and δ-MnO2.on the photocatalytic activity of Degussa P-2. TiO2.have been investigated through the photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange. The TiO2.photocatalyst, before and after being contaminated by MnO2. was characterized by UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-vis DRS), photoluminescence (PL), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results showed that photocatalytic activity of TiO2.could be inhibited significantly or completely deactivated due to the presence of even a small amount of MnO2.particles. It was found that the poisoning effect varied with the crystal phases of MnO2.and the effect was in the order δ-MnO2.>α-MnO2.>β-MnO2. The poisoning effect was attributed to the formation of heterojunctions between MnO2.and TiO2.particles. The heterojunctions changed the chemical state of Ti4+ and O2.sites in the crystalline phase of TiO2. MnO2.in contact with TiO2.particles also broadens the band-gap of TiO2. which decreases UV absorption of TiO2. It can also create some deep impurity energy levels serving as photoelec-tron-photohole recombination center, which accelerates the electron-hole recombination.

Spectral feature of forest vegetation with remote sensing techniques is the research topic all over the world, because forest plays an important role in human beings' living environment. Research on vegetation classification with vegetation index is still very little recently. This paper proposes a method of identifying forest types based on vegetation indices, because the contrast of absorbing red waveband with reflecting near-infrared waveband strongly for different vegetation types is recognized as the theoretic basis of vegetation analysis with remote sensing. Vegetation index is highly related to leaf area index, absorbed photosynthetically active radiation and vegetation cover. Vegetation index reflects photosynthesis intensity of plants and manifests different forest types. According to reflectance data of forest canopy and soil line equation NIR=1.506R+0.0076 in Jingyuetan, Changchun of china, many vegetation indices are calculated and analyzed. Pollen analysis is one of the best and possible approaches for the quantitative reconstruction of paleobotany and paleoclimate,and discrimination of human *** this paper,we reveal the characteristics of pollen assemblages in different agricultural units and their spatial distribution of major pollen taxa in the Anyang area where the human influences are serious,so as to get more information about climate change and human activities from pollen *** pollen assemblages of total 12. surface soil samples from different agricultural units (farm lands,vegetable plots,wastelands,cape-lands,woodlands,etc.) indicate that herbaceous pollen dominates the pollen assemblages with an average of 73%,mainly from Poaceae,Artemisia,Chenopodiaceae and Cruciferae;arboreal pollen percentages reach 18%,mainly from Pinus and Ulmus;shrub pollen and fern spores have very low *** general,pollen assemblages are consistent with vegetation composition,though some differences also exist in different agricultural *** farmlands and vegetable lands,Poaceae pollen has the highest percentages (averaging 2.%) compared to other agricultural units with dominant corn or wheat pollen,while in wastelands and woodlands,arboreal and Artemisia pollen percentages have higher values (averaging 2.% and 19% respectively).Cruciferae has the highest pollen percentages (70%) in *** pollen assemblages and PCoA can generally identify the vegetable plots,farmlands,woodlands,wastelands,and *** and Artemisia pollens mainly appear in the western part of Anyang,which is consistent with the parent plants;Poaceae pollen mainly exist in the eastern part with more farmlands;Chenopodiaceae pollen mainly appear in the urban areas and near major roads where human influences are stronger,Cruciferae pollen can mainly be found in the urban area and in the northwest part of Anyang where more vegetables are planted.

In this paper, the role of the plasma membrane (PM) H+-ATPase in extracellular calmodulin (CaM)-promoted pollen germination and in tube growth of Arabidopsis thaliana was investigated. Pollen germination, pollen tube growth rate, free cytosolic Ca2. concentration ([Ca2.]cyt) and Ca2. channel activity in the PM of pollen cells were measured. In response to fusicoccin or CaM treatment, in vitro pollen germination and pollen tube growth rate, [Ca2.]cyt and activity of a hyperpolarization-activated Ca2.-permeable channel increased. Sodium vanadate inhibited the promotion of these parameters by extracellular CaM. The results suggest that H+-ATPase may be involved in extracellular CaM-regulated pollen germination and in tube growth by modulation of the hyperpolarization-activated Ca2. channel in the PM of A. thaliana pollen cells.

hebei Province is one of the regions with most densely population, fastest economic growth and most intensive land use in china. The contradiction of land shortage sharpened by high-speed economic development with population growth has become a serious problem, which has restricted regional sustainable *** paper revealed the basic process, regional differences of change and the gravity center of arable land area according to the long-series statistical data of arable land during the past 50 years. On the basis of the above mentioned, the major driving forces that influence the changes of the arable land are discussed. The research results indicate that there is a trend of obvious fluctuating decrease in arable land area during the last 50 years. The changes of arable land area undergo the process from increase to sharp decrease to gently decrease. The regional disparity of change in arable land area is very notable and the gravity center of arable land area moves to the northeast 49.2. km. Regarding the decrease in arable land, the direct driving forces include adjustments of agricultural structure and reclamation, and indirect driving forces include advance in technology, economic interest and population growth etc.

Fluids and noble gases of mantle-derived materials are important tracers forthe mantle information. Compositions of primary fluids and noble gases in mantle-derived mineralsfrom the Yishu area, Shandong Province, china, were tested by the methods of heat-bursting andheat-melting respectively. The fluids are mainly composed of CO_2. CO and H_2. which account forabout 90% of the total, and are similar to the mantle-derived rocks from other areas of easternchina; ratios of ~3He/~4He in almost all samples range from 0.82.Ra to 2.74 Ra, whereas^(40)Ar/^(36)Ar from 2.9.5 to 758.8. Both ranges are much lower than those of the typical oceanmantle-derived samples (such as MORB) and primarily reflect the influences of the atmosphericcomponents and the radiogenic isotopes. Ratios of C/~3He range from 2..6 x 10~9 to 1050 x 10~9,N_2.Ar from 92. to 56612. and N_2.~3He from 2.5 x 10~9 to 2. x 10~9, similar to those in westernUnited States and New Zealand which belong to the tectonic plate collision regions. The ratios fallin the intersect of mantle-crust-atmosphere in the comprehensive tracer-charts, reflecting theinfluences of the atmosphere and the crusts with organic components. Our results suggest that thecomposition of the primary fluids and the isotopic ratios of the noble gases may either reflect theevolution process of mantle-derived rocks connected with the rise and eruption of magma, or theinfluence of the ancient subduction-plate on the continental mantle of this region.

Modeling land use/cover scenario changes and its potential impacts on structure and functions of ecosystem in typical regions are helpful to understanding the interactive mechanism between land use/cover system and ecosystem. Based on the analysis of the existing land use/cover simulation and forecast models, a land use/cover scenario dynamics model by the integration of System Dynamics (SD) model, Back Propagation Neural Network (BPNN) and Cellular Automata (CA) model is developed with land use/cover scenario changes in northern china in the next 30 years and simulated in this paper. The model is to simulate the land use/cover scenario demands by using a SD model at first, and then allocating the land use scenario patterns at the local scale with the considerations of land use/cover suitability, inheritance ability and neighborhood effect by using BPNN-CA model to satisfy the balance between land use/cover scenario demands and supplies. It integrates the advantages of SD, BPNN and CA. Macro-driving factors and the micro-spatial pattern are also fully taken into account. The BPNN simplifies the identification of the factors’ weights used in CA model and improves the reliability of the simulation results. The simulation accuracy of the model developed in this paper was found to be about 74%. It suggests that the model has the ability to reflect the complexity of land use/cover system at different scales to some extent and it is a useful tool for assessing the potential impacts of land use system on ecosystem. The simulated results also indicate that the urban land, water area and forest will increase significantly, and farmland and unable land will decrease gradually. Obvious land use/cover changes will take place in the farming-pastoral zone and the southeast area of northern china.

This paper presents the pollen assemblages from 108 surface sediment samples from 4 lakes(the Lake Daihai,Lake Hongjiannao,Lake Hulunnao and Lake Duikounao) in the monsoon fringe area of *** herb pollen taxa Artemisia,Chenopodiaceae,Poaceae and Compositae are the major components of pollen assemblages of the 4 lakes and Pinus,Betula,Quercus,Ulmus,Populus,Ostryopsis and Elaeagnaceae are frequently presented,which reflect regional and local vegetation *** mean similarity coefficients for samples from the Lake Daihai,Lake Hongjiannao,Lake Hulunnao and Lake Duikounao are 0.66 ± 0.17,0.71 ± 0.11,0.73 ± 0.12.and 0.67 ± 0.12.respectively,so pollen assemblages are relatively consistent in each lake,which shows that focusing and mixing effects have occurred before and after pollen ***,pollen assemblages do differ between sampling sites in each *** largest difference is seen in the Lake Daihai,followed by the Lake Duikounao,Lake Hulunnao and Lake Hongjiannao(The mean Euclidean distance is 2..09 ± 11.11,11.2. ± 3.64,10.67 ± 4.03 and 8.44 ± 4.51 respectively).These differences are possibly caused by the differences of focusing and mixing effects,pollen source areas,drainage areas and regional vegetation *** Lake Daihai and Lake Hongjiannao have water deeper than 5 m and strong re-suspension,focusing and mixing effects occur in the lakeshore and shallow water areas,where pollen concentrations are lower than in deeper lake *** the Lake Hulunnao and Lake Duikounao,with depths less than 5 m,re-suspension and mixing effects are obvious across the whole lake area,so pollen assemblages and pollen concentra-tions are more consistent among sampling sites in each *** between the lake samples and samples from the inflowing river reveals that wind is primary pollen transportation force in the Lake Hongjiannao,where the consistency of pollen assemblage is conspicuous,while there is greater variation in lakes where pollen input is
