Structural and mechanical properties of amorphous carbon films deposited by the dual plasma technique

Direct current metal filtered cathodic vacuum arc （FCVA） and acetylene gas （C2.2. were wielded to synthesize Ti-containing amorphous carbon films on Si （100）. The influence of substrate bias voltage and acetylene gas on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the films were investigated. The results show that the phase of TiC in the （111） preferential crystallographic orientation exists in the film,and the main existing pattern of carbon is sp2. With increasing the acetylene flow rate,the contents of Ti and TiC phase of the film gradually reduce; however,the thickness of the film increases. When the substrate bias voltage reaches -600 V,the internal stress of the film reaches 1.6 GPa. The micro-hardness and elastic modulus of the film can reach 33.9 and 2.7.6 GPa,respectively,and the friction coefficient of the film is 0.2..

This paper describes an atmospheric dispersion field experiment performed on the coastal site of nuclear power plant in the east part of china during 1995 to 1996. The three-dimension joint frequency are obtained by hourly observation of wind and temperature on a 100m high lower; the frequency of the 'event day of land and sea breeze' are given by observation of surface wind and land and sea breezes; the diffusion parameters are got from measurements of turbulent and wind tunnel simulation test. A new model calculating the annual mean atmospheric dispersion factor for coastal site of nuclear power plant is developed and established. This model considers not only the effect from mixing release and mixed layer but also the effect from the internal boundary layer and variation of diffusion parameters due to the distance from coast. The comparison between results obtained by the new model and current model shows that the ratio of annual mean atmospheric dispersion factor gained by the new model and the current one is about 2.0.

The complex of Rubisco and Rubisco activase from LaCl3-, CeCl3- treated spinach in vivo is induced. SDS-PAGE result shows that the purified proteins from LaCl3-, CeCl3- treated spinach have not only large and small subunits (55 kD, 14.4 kD) of Rubisco, but also two large subunits of 45 kD and 41 kD near the large subunits of Rubisco. Native-PAGE shows that the purified proteins from LaCl3-, CeCl3- treated spinach have not only a band of Rubisco (560 kD), but also a band of about 1100 kD, about twice distant from Rubisco, which might be a complex of Rubisco and Rubisco activase. The purified enzyme activities from LaCl3-, CeCl3-treated spinach are 1.8 and 2.8 times that of the control,the intensities of absorption and fluorescence are sig- nificantly higher than that of the purified Rubisco from the control, and the total sulfhydryl groups and available sulfhydryl groups are 36—39 –SH per mol enzyme, 14—2. –SH per mol enzyme more than those of the purified Rubisco from the control, respectively. The CD spectra show that the secondary structure of the purified enzyme from LaCl3-, CeCl3 -treated spinach is very dif- ferent from the control. The enzyme activities from LaCl3-, CeCl3- treated spinach in vivo are 1.5 and 1.9 times those of the control.

To identify the re-arrangement of constituent atoms of an amorphous Mg65Cu2.Gd10 alloy happened with annealing, structure relaxation of the alloy was investigated as a function of an- nealing time at 373 K through extended X-ray absorption fine structure （EXAFS） analysis procedures. To understand the effect of structure relaxation on strength, compression tests were conducted for both the as-cast and the annealed Mg65Cu2.Gd10 samples. it is found that short range order around Cu and Gd atoms exhibits different variation trends with increasing annealing time at 373 K, though the structure of the alloy still remains to be amorphous. Based on the fact that the strength of the alloy first exhibits a reduction and then a recovery with annealing time, it is suggested that the enhancement of short range order around Cu should be responsible for the strength reduction, while the enhancement of short range order around Gd should be responsible for the strength recovery.

Based on the daily outgoing longwave radiation (OLR) data from National Oceanic and At- mospheric Administration (NOAA) satellites, the Cli- mate Prediction Center’s merged analysis of pre- cipitation (CMAP) data and the National Centers for Environmental Prediction/National Center for At- mospheric Research (NCEP/NCAR) reanalysis dataset, the mean intraseasonal variability of the Asian summer monsoon (ASM) is investigated by using power spectrum analysis, band-pass filter, and diagnostic analyses. The processes of the onset and advance of monsoon over the southern part of indo- china Peninsula, the east coast of Bay of Bengal, the South china Sea and the indian subcontinent are explored. it is found that there is an abrupt change in OLR, precipitation and zonal wind during the onset and advance of the ASM. it is also indicated that the southern part of indochina Peninsula and the adja- cent Andaman Sea is the region where the earliest onset of the ASM occurs in the 2.d pentad of May.

Glycosylation is the most versatile and one of the most significant protein post-translational modifications. it is generally classified into three categories according to the amino acid to which the glycan is attached: N-glycosylation, O-glycosylation and C-glycosylation. Synthesis of N-glycoproteins occurs in the rough endoplasmic reticulum (rER), and all N-glycoproteins synthesized in rER have uniform glycan endings with mannose (Man) and glucose (Glc). A systematic strategy was developed to comprehensively profile N-glycoproteins in complex biological samples. The lectin Concanvalin A (ConA), which has a high affinity for glycans ending with Man, was used to extract the N-glycoproteins synthesized or located in the rER, and identified the N-glycoproteins and their glycosylation sites by LTQ-FT MS. The analysis was repeated three times at both the biological sample and mass spectrometry levels. in total, 32. glycosylation sites on 2.2.N-glycoproteins were identified in the mouse liver. Of these, 131 were known N-glycoproteins in the Swissprot database. The identified N-glycoproteins were classified according to their cell location by the Swissprot database and GO software. The identified N-glycoproteins in this study would serve as a good complement to the N-glycoprotein database for the mouse liver.

Based on the laboratory calibration before launch of CBERS-02.iRMSS thermal infrared channel, the onboard blackbody calibration, the radiometric cross- calibration against TERRA MODiS corresponding channel and the in-flight field calibration at Lake Qinghai: water surface radiometric calibration test site of china on Aug. 17, 2.04 are carried out in this research. When making onboard blackbody calibration of CBERS-02.iRMSS, it is necessary to understand inside structures and light path in iRMSS camera and receive and process calibration blackbody signals at normal and high temperatures. Onboard blackbody calibration results of each detector are very important to relative radiometric calibration of images processing and absolute radiometric calibration of each detector. in-flight field calibration mainly contains field experiments, obtaining synchronous images, spectrum marching and MODTRAN radiative transmi- ssion computation. Radiometric cross-calibration of CBERS-02.iRMSS thermal band against TERRA MODiS selected 6 times synchronous images of two sensors passing through Lake Qinghai and Lake Taihu from August to December, 2.04 to compute the cross calibration data. Combining the in-flight field calibration and radiometric cross calibration data, the absolute radiometric calibration coefficients are calculated by the linear regression method. This new calibration model can obviously control the radiometric calibration uncertainties aroused by the single point method used in the in-flight calibration of CBERS-02.iRMSS, this kind of sensors cannot receive the cosmic background {2.. in this research, the radiometric calibration coefficients obtained through the linear regression model are 8.53 (gain, unit: DN/W m?2.r?1μm?1) and 44.92.(offset, unit: DN).

The roles of the magnetic field and electric field of the light are investigated when the light is refracted in the medium. The model of the electron cloud conductor is presented. Electron cloud in a molecule is treated as a conductor and the Faraday’s Law is applied to this conductor that is in the alternating magnetic field of the light. dBM/dt of the light gives rise to an alternating induced current on the electron cloud conductor, and the light exchanges energy, i.e. the refractive energy, with the elec- tron cloud conductor. Formulas of refractive index, which is the ratio of light speed in vacuum to that in the medium, are derived with this model. These formulas are tested with several mediums and Langevin’s diamagnetic susceptibility of helium gas, and the results are in good agreement with the measured data. The anisotropy and the nonlinearity of the refractive index are explained with the theory described in this work.
